Hit 'em up! Hit 'em up!
Up, out and away
Singles, doubles, triples
and of course, the Big Bombay!
Snitker stoically managing from
the dugout
Ron Washington on third and Eric
Young, Sr. on first helping runners out
Strider, Morton, Elder, and Fried leading
the way
Chavez, Minter, Mchugh, and Iglesias closing
the day
D'Arnaud and Murphy guiding and protecting
home plate
When it's their chance in the batter box good
hitting they aptly demonstrate
Acuna Jr., Albies, Arcia and Harris II
applying the spark
Olson, Rosario, Ozuna, and Riley bomb blasting
making the park go dark
Hit 'em up! Hit 'em up!
Up, out and away
Braves win!
Hip Hip Hooray!

A young man who wishes to remain a sound Atheist cannot be too careful of his reading. There are traps everywhere – “Bibles laid open, millions of surprises,” as Herbert says, fine nets and stratagems.” God is, if I may say it, very unscrupulous.

SPECIAL MOMENTS BY GRAND MINTER
Amphitheater snowflakes whirl.
This working girl beset by pearls.
Best December Eve sourced Winter.
I’m surprised of joy by hinter.
Arthritic knees chase a grand dream.
Playground resounds with princess theme.
This castle with childhood splinters.
I’m surprised of joy by hinter.
Figurines and paintings accurs’d
in the soulfulness of Christ birth’d.
Special moments by grand minter.
Surprised of joy by hinter.

He wears a white shirt.
His short sleeves are rolled tight.
In his pocket there’s always something
to give a grandchild delight.
His trait is determination
It’s as strong as Old Man Winter’s.
Though he’s been called lots of names,
we call him Charlie Minter.
He likes things to be simple,
but things are often not.
He wonders if there’s a tool made
to fix all the problems he’s got.
Fishin’ is a way to relax.
He likes “puttin’ in” the boat.
But the maintenance makes him put out.
It’s stressful keeping the boat afloat.
Charlie’s a major stockholder
in a beer called “Milwaukee’s Best.”
It took only half a lifetime
To pass the room temperature test.
Whether it’s electronics or changing oil,
He’s always in a working mood.
He stops only to read the newspaper,
or to savor fine fried food.
Those who know Charlie Minter
Have seen his warm eyes flicker.
To those who don’t him: Beware!
He’s been known to bicker!

Minter Bridge Road to Burkhalter Lane
Alpaca farms dot the hilly terrain, baby llamas
Wear thick curly fur, until the shears come
They look really funny when the fur is all gone
From the top of Chehalem, a significant drop down
Now into Newberg a quaint little town
Velvet moss cloaks the ivy in emerald green
Entwined through a forest of Juniper trees
On to Spirit Mountain, Grand Rhonde’s old legend
Where old spirits dwell, their holiness beckons
It’s best to go slow in a horse powered engine, that
Would have impressed the Pony Express, the
Ghosts of Rogue River's tribes of Kalapuya
Smoking peace pipes in wigwams
On the banks of Nestucca

Note: A place where you can truly feel the old spirits dwell. Kalapuya (Calapooya) means “wealthy way of life”. A semi-nomadic people who lived in permanent winter villages (near present day Portland, Oregon) and traded with their neighbors of Northern California, Oregon Coast and Columbia River tribes.
