Old Lang Syne meaningfully with gusto
Hogmanay celebrations in full swing
Revellers savour whiskeys afterglow
Watching square dancers doing highland fling
Laden snow clouds have accumulated
Inky heavens to sheer mountain ski top
As frozen misty hailstones enshrouded
onwards from midnight chimes, it did not stop
Mechanisation had ground to standstill
So stranded most where, no alarm to raise
Prompted mountaineers try to ski downhill
Technology cut off they did appraise
Happily acknowledging extra days
Revellers exclaimed jubilant hoorays

Do we blame God?
The environment was once cool
Cool enough for our good
Till industrialisation brought its mud
Growth improved, thanks to technology
Mechanisation took over all
Our thoughts, activities and mall
Yet, it's long run effect, unknown and dodgy.
Each industrial revolution brought degradation
Rising temperatures and heat ascending
Water table rising with increased flooding
We have been enslaved by our inventions.
This isn't a case for underdevelopment
Naa, it's a cry to stand and stall
Refuse all hyper-carbon's crawl
Else the heat grows in instalment
The earth, fishes and greens crying
A brief stop, they plead, would help
Break the carbon chain as one step;
See mother nature return, smiling.
