A huge tsunami did not bother these two
Maude McMillian and her twin sister Sue
They got in their shopping cart and rode a wave
Many commented those old gals are brave
We have been in tsunamis worse than this one said
Yes, and we are still alive said her sis, nowhere dead
They laughed and chortled as they blew around the town
Watching street lights and bridges falling swiftly down
This is no big deal, nothing like the storm of 1992
Maude agreed with her identical twin sister Sue
They snatched up a cat, a dog and two rabbits to save
Sparing them from death and an early grave

My Current Situation
My current situation
A bit difficult I’d say
Like stuck in a pickle
Or going the wrong way
My energy wants me
To move all around
Except this illness
Is keeping me down
Everything in my life
Has totally changed
To be positive I’ll get
thoughts rearranged
I kinda want to give up
To go ahead and quit
But I continue to pray
To get through all of it
Like a Bible scripture
As stated in Luke 1:37
Nothing is impossible
With our God in Heaven
Although my appearance
Seems full of complication
Spiritual faith will carry me
In MY CURRENT SITUATION

A HIGH FIVE TO JOLEEN
I would like to give a big High Five
To my wonderful niece, Joleen
For the devotions of God’s Word
She gives to us on a daily routine
It is shared on her Women’s page
Giving one another encouragement
With Biblical sagas and testimonies
Like offers of religious nourishment
As she takes us through the Gospel
She often displays a map of location
It reminds me of our own handprints
How we were made by God’s creation
Like a blueprint of our individual path
I look into the palm of my hand to see
That it is similar to a map or a guide
And it may help on my biblical journey
No two are alike in His written book
God made us each in a special way
Joleen is so very encouraging to all
She is a vessel of blessings each day
The steps she takes sharpens others
With perfect time like in Proverbs 27:17
As I learn the journey He put in my hand
I raise mine to give a High-Five to Joleen

UNCLE DUBBY
I’ll tell you who Uncle Dubby is
The true backbone of our family
The root of where it all began
The beginning of our family tree
First with the name he was called
Born as Winfred James you see
Going by his initials WJ or just Dub
I always knew him as Uncle Dubby
Back in the day when he was young
He sang in a boys’ choir with my dad
Uncle Dubby’s girlfriend was Patsy
And Nellie was the little sister she had
Well my dad was introduced to Nellie
That’s how our family became to be
Uncle Dubby the beginning backbone
Our family is still creating the history
My Uncle Dubby is greatly missed
Such a wonderful loving family man
With my Aunt Pat for over 66 years
Standing by her side hand in hand
Always there for his children
In everything they would do
He sure loved his grandchildren
And the great grandchildren too
That horrible virus took his life
His loss was devastating to us all
He has taken his place in Heaven
Leaving happy memories to recall
Known as a strong Christian man
Is how the memories of him will be
Always showing the love of Christ
A Godly man was my Uncle Dubby

Pumpkin Angel
My little Pumpkin Angel
Is what I call Shalina Jean
She is a sweet niece of mine
Who was born on Halloween
She has a smile filled with joy
Her eyes they twinkle so blue
She giggles in a high pitch shrill
And has beautiful long hair too
Shalina has a tune in her voice
Almost angelic when she sings
Her kindness shines so bright
I can almost see her angel wings
She said that her journeys in life
Were as if in a washing machine
A heavy load with lots of agitation
Stirring about trying to get clean
The spin cycle spun her away
To a new direction for her to go
Now she enters the rinse cycle
Hoping it to be gentle and slow
Always so loving and sweet to me
That little girl born on Halloween
She loves the Lord and to me I see
That Pumpkin Angel Shalina Jean

The United States of America
The day has actually come
Halting normal life on earth
Everyone felt the abrupt change
Unexpectedly dissolving our mirth
Now the enemy is creeping our way
Invisibly attacking our precious nation
Thank God our President is mighty fine
Embracing the war challenge with action
Decisive steps were taken right away
Social distancing to immediately begin
To slow down the climbing death rate
Although apart we stand united to win
The cease of the battle is coming soon
Everyone cheering the end of the enemy
Singing the songs of joy and praise
Over and over again with the victory
Family love is now being restored
As the land begins to rejuvenate
Making America beautiful again
Economy will soon start to escalate
Right after the pandemic is over that is
In the end will be hallelujah and praise
Coronavirus will soon be history for us
Amen is then all I will have left to say!

There was a Tilley Willy in her back
It was a seasoned one with pneumonia hack.
Sasha had been trying to shake it since lunch
It had grown up with the McMillian bunch.
It had tentacles that wrapped around her twice.
Tilley Willy thought living inside her was truly nice.
Other humans and dogs have ticks, lice and fleas.
She kept begging it to leave using manners and please.
The Tilley Wiley was determined to stay forever
Then she met a comedienne quite nice and clever
So she encouraged Sasha to stand really close
And that Tilley Wiley jumped from host to host.
Sasha’s pneumonia promptly and abruptly went away
The comedienne had a ridiculous cold the very next day.

Dedication: To my mom, Pauline, who gave me the spark to write the Rootless Tree…..
A Rootless Tree
I have a tree that has no roots
Although it keeps growing in my yard
It stands big and tall and seems full of life
Yet is hollowed and somewhat scarred
My hopes have been high
That it will one day bloom
I should clear the space
And begin making room
For what I really need
Is to get a brand new tree
One that is filled with growth
To take root in the ground firmly
That rootless tree
Will be hard to let go of
It has been around so long
My heart holds a glow of love
The new strong rooted tree
Will be one to grow a lifetime
To burst with many blossoms
That will flow like wind chimes
I will keep the rootless hollow tree
On the side for the precious memories
The planted new tree of oxygen branches
Will be bringing a brand new breath of ease

Although the right path in life is very narrow and difficult, I'm glad to be on that right path.....
Matthew 7:13-14
As we skip along
Going our merry way
In the journeys of life
Living day by day
Smelling sweet flowers
Or seeing a rainbow
To give us a big smile
So no one will know
That deep down inside
There is a struggle within
Knowing not the right path
Just keeps you wondering
The path that seems right
Is so difficult to go through
Filled with pain and misery
I am not sure what to do
While most others travel
On that wide and easy trail
As they boast of their fortunes
My path moves slowly like a snail
So naturally I turn to my Bible
To search for a new routine
And I’ll be darn – I found it
In the book of Matthew 7:13-14
Where it told me very clearly
I am where I am supposed to be
On the path with very few others
The one God has planned for me
I’ll keep skipping along with joy
Since I am on the right track
And I’ll be happy knowing
That He has my back

Shine of Glory
God shines His glory
To all of life on earth
His first touch begins
At the very start of birth
There are two specific points
To radiate His glorious shine
One of them is His son, Jesus
The other one is His sunshine
His begotten Son shines inside
Giving glory to all of our hearts
His other sun of day shines warmth
Gloriously to all of our outer parts
Those great shines of glory
Are felt both inside and out
To each living person, creature
Or just anything growing about
So very most thankful to bask
In the shine of glory so bright
That comes from both of them
Emitting their powerful light
Each one is so magnificent
Coming from way up above
Bringing the Shine of Glory
That is given with God’s love

Morning Song
Listen, Listen
So you may hear
Those sweet sounds
Of early morning cheer
Coming from the birds
Singing their morning song
Like a glorious praise of joy
That seems to last all day long
For any turmoil or other noise
That may tend to be around
Their voices pierce right through
So gently with their sweet sound
Like a thread through a needle
Their tunes go right to the soul
That heals the mind and body
Delivering peace is their goal
As it is God who only knows
The troubles a day may bring
To each person at a time
So He sent the birds to sing
Music speaks to the spirit
A reminder to praise within
Spreading joy to everyone
The way a day should begin

Still
S – T – I – L – L
Stop, Think, Imagine, Listen, Learn
*************
Stop to position yourself not to move - Be Still
Think of the thoughts envisioned by only your will
Imagine those dreams that come from deep within
Listen to the silent words that God begins to send
Learn spiritual knowledge that you can actually feel
Those lessons to learn when you are being still
Then your outer self will reach the level of calm
As found in the bible verse 46:10-11 of Psalm
Still waters do always run deep is the scheme
The smoothest surface is from the deepest stream
So take some moments of time to practice this skill
Smooth out your outer shell by being perfectly STILL

Easter Joy
The joy of Easter
Is found within
It started way back
When Christ had risen
Now each individual
Is born with the joy
That we are all given
To self employ
The joy is from
The Lord above
The Great I Am
To share His Love
He sent His Son
In human form
To shine His light
For us to conform
It was hard to believe
That Holy resurrection
Since it had been 3 days
After the grim crucifixion
So they say the Easter name
Is from a spring celebration
Of a goddess from England
In which was pre-Christian
Since the sun rises in the east
Instead I would tend to say
It is like the Christ son arose
On the glorious Easter day
Share the joy of Easter
Let it shine so bright
For everyone to see
Like the rising sun light
Jesus was placed in our hearts
Filled with joy when we were born
Maybe the name Jesus means He’s us
Let’s all celebrate His joy on Easter morn

Inspired by the Bible Scripture of Habakkuk 2:3
Sneak Preview
So thankful for the gifts from God
They are all my hopes and dreams
Those joyful Sneak Previews
Of what He will someday bring
When I dream big
And keep my hopes high
It is like I did something good
By at least giving it all a try
The journey may be long
And the load is sometimes heavy
Just remember it says in the Bible
The vision will come, it will not tarry
Even though it is at an appointed time
It is surely still coming in brand new
Certainly better than ever before
It is great to see a Sneak Preview
Those sneak previews
Make waiting not seem slow
By enjoying the given thoughts
They come true before you know

Be Wise – Minimize
Be wise
Minimize
Like downsize
All your supplies
You will shudder
With too much clutter
No word you can utter
If you are smothered
Just clear the place
To make more space
This could be the case
Of saving the human race
As you would assume
You will have more room
Then new life could bloom
And the energy would zoom
Just let it go
Toss and throw
To rebuild tomorrow
And watch it grow
So please guys
I emphasize
Be wise
Minimize
