All Shelby F. Zeus wanted was a may-apple plant.
One to call her own, one to call her Mommy or Aunt.
Shelby loved its succulent yellow lemon shaped fruit.
Not realizing this is what always made her toot.
We’d guess she was coming by the aroma in the air.
Shelby F. Zeus is on her way, we’d yell, without a care.
One day her scent preceded her but she was nowhere.
We later learned the hard way she was eaten by a bear.
Thanks to her sacrifice, we always know when he’s around.
Her may-apple loving flatulence always close to the ground.
There is Shelby F. Zeus’ bear, how much more warning could there be?
Thank you for eating may-apples, Shelby. You’ve left quite a legacy.
