The Many Talents of Boyce Brandon Harris Second Addition

Away from tireless desk job i.e.,which obliged
swearing allegiance, fealty, loyalty within complex

Premium Member THE SINGING OF THE BIRDS

At our cabin in the mountains we love to wake up early
as the day is just beginning…
and listen to the birds warm up…
as they ready their voices for the singing.

Each bird has just awoken from their nighttime sleep
or just arrived at our outdoor concert hall
and each needs a few moments before the dawn
To prepare their voices to enthrall

It’s like listening to to an orchestra tuning up
without inhibition or pretense…
as they prepare their voices…and we await…
the symphony to commence.

There is so much beauty in their warm up…
that while we listen we rejoice…
savoring each birds singular style
unique expression…and solitary voice.

Once they’re all warmed up
and are ready to engage…
the cardinal…the conductor..
flys out to center stage.

He surveys all his concert members
then begins to sing his song…
and slowly, quietly at first,
all the other birds sing along.

And when we hear them harmonize…
we know the warming up is done…
and that is when we sit back and smile.
knowing the concert has begun.

We feel blessed to be in attendance.
to every facet of their symphony without words…
blessed to be around to witness
the beauty
and the singing of the birds.

The Love Monster

An amalgamation of the five senses
I am lying in a field of flowers, between four others
That was not supposed to be multiple colors
But so long to the fences
I speak a language that has forgotten its three tenses

My eyes are still two but they no longer blink
For the same reason as others do
The lashes will interlink
Merely to capture you

My pupils are like blades
Stacked on top of each other, in a centreless circle
They sync when you come my way
Only to spiral
Whenever your figure fades
When you wave your hand, as you walk away

You changed the function of my brain, it no longer thinks, it can no longer retain
One thread of reason, when a thought of you is bound to reign
I do not complain

It became a fiction weaver
Of pleasure and pain
It calculates no equation, it processes no information
How could it when I am afflicted with such a fever
That I do not remain

I am dead, my heart does not beat
To the same tune as others
It does not eat, from the same spoon as two brothers do
It does not drink from the same red lagoon

It pumps blood when it feels your heat
And you would know if it has ever stopped beating
For you would not have these words which you are reading
Flood you with warmth from your head to your feet

My skin is a hot mesh to keep you warm
It stings my flesh like lightning in a storm
But do not be afraid, I have sworn an oath
That if it ever harmed you, I would walk forth
Onto a hearth, and into ash it shall transform

My fingertips leak ink whenever I think of somebody who
Could be terrified at the sight they witness
Someone so beautiful as to never inspire ugliness

I am a beautiful monstrosity through and through.

Premium Member In My Room Part 2

I don’t want to taint her, I don’t want my evil, my darkness to creep into her soul, I may love her, but I want more for her than what I can ever be, this I sadly know
So, I take her into my arms, and I relinquish all my passion for her from within, I kiss her sweet, beautiful lips and her eyes they almost do me in
She’s begging me without speaking to just not run away, but we both know this is the beginning of the end for us, there is not much more to say
The next day I walk up those familiar stairs like a man walking to death row, I might as well be dying, because saying goodbye to her it shows that I have no soul

She was perfect, at least she was to me, and as she turns and smiles and locks eyes with me, I can’t take it, it’s crippling me
I take one long, last look at her beautiful face, and take a mental picture of her beauty that I was lucky enough to bare witness to, blessed just to have a taste
Those eyes, they almost do me in as I walk out that door, I hope she can’t see the tears shining in my eyes that I am holding back, because I know I will never look into them again, not anymore
I call her as soon as I walk out the door, her voice it resonates within me, I tell her that I love her, but she has no idea it’s killing me

I can’t make the choice for myself she knows this I can’t just walk away, I have my reasons why, so she selflessly tells me to let her go and do what I know is right
I know her heart is broken and as I sit here crying in disbelief of it all, mine is too, she will never know the impact that she had on me, I only wish she knew
I still think of her, I envision that smile every day of my tortured life, I would give all that I have to be with her, but in my heart, I know it isn’t right
I can’t give her what she needs, I can’t give her all of me, and I know that she would take whatever I would give but selfishly, I want all of her and I can’t be the man I should have been to her, the one I want more than anything to be.

Premium Member Ekphrasis On Snow At Argenteuil

footprints carved on a crystalline carpet
the winding traces of morning skaters
on teal and ivory rugged snowfield
lead me to his quiet hometown

the bare trees that surround me
are like dancing old willows by the brooks
freezing as they witness the old folks
faded in the misty blue

the silver charm of the clouds above me
enchant me like the way you thrill me
when you look at me
without a word or two

Notes: Snow at Argenteuil is an oil-on-canvas landscape painting from the Impressionist artist Claude Monet. It is the largest of no fewer than eighteen works Monet painted of his home commune of Argenteuil while it was under a blanket of snow during the winter of 1874–1875. Premium Member On Maydays Day

I turn to my girl highlighting Mayday is near
A day of spectacle that the whole village views
There's Jesters of folly and Knights without fear
Witnessing lances and jokes, always going askew

To view such we can venture along different ways
We can stroll by the river listening to many sounds
In awe as we walk amidst most wondrous displays
That on any given day beautiful vistas abound

Decisions, decisions, as we contemplate which way
It's such a special day wondering what to wear
Beauty personified will my Olive be on this day
Knights or Royal Princes, all they can do is stare

So tomorrow we've decided to be our chosen route
Two hearts in decision, declaring what's their suit

Mayday morn now greets as I turn next to me
She my guiding light as beautiful as the dawn
Excitement illuminates for into her eyes I see
Onto my back I lie, that feel she's now upon

Into this day we go heading along the river
Crystal clear translucent such serenity in it's flow
Under greened canopies cooled shaded deliver
Wafting leaved dress in delightful fanned throw

We sense the clearings near for scents we sense
Sporadic clusters in capture of welcoming eyes
Mayday games have started, distant heard suspense
Knights on horseback mounted, now in espy

Now we're in amidst encapsulated we now are
She's here to cheer, her Sir James, soon to spar

Balcony she now awaits, white steed he's now astride
Blinkered pairings gallop towards intended foe
To win this Mayday he, to fight for her his bride
Eliminate his enemy, witness his crimson flow

His lance in now connect, thrown metal disperses
Petals of beauty hurled of rainbows selected
Images of we, now thinking marital rehearses
To know on this day, her intended she's elected

Moments of their previous now in recent past
Knowing they're now free in kaleidoscopic stream
Spectrum of feelings now in view full cast
In colourful extremes, fight for your dreams

The Final Battlefield

Reduced to tear's
By floundering year's
And persecution
The wickers fell
On mannequin and collage painting's
Hanging from the tower gate's
So opaque
The background checked the artist's brush
That stroked upon the maddening thrush
Where common folk and gentry rushed
To place upon a bed of thieves
Which kings receive
A ransom grand
Gleaming gold
And stole by hand
From Jerusalem the holy rock
Whence pilgrims flock
For station on the end of day's
The final battlefield of men on earth
Shall witness the return of God
The apocalypse is nigh at hand
But who will gain the upper hand
Is no more certain
Than the closing curtain
On which the hook's
Some must hang
If that in which your faith was placed
Was sadly misplaced
Or misdirected

The Trees Speak

The trees speak of ages past and long ago
 Lost and forgotten
 recalled by history
written down by some wise sage.

All the secrets not revealed hidden lives of soldiers, vagabonds and pioneers
 Struggling on in silence
as ghostly figures in the wood
holding on to land and freedom.

Shadow figures, bodies and spirits physically long since gone
Pounded deep below the surface
 beneath the roots of trees
 reborn with each new generation.

The images and faces erased now no longer here.
Struggles faded far away
 allowing new ones to rise
 making way for continuity.

The trees know.
They have seen it all before
 born witness
 to man's savagery.

The slaughter of the red man
the enslavement of the black
the demeaning of the yellow skin
Do we remember?

White men still struggke to free themselves to blind their heart and souls
in search and proclamation of justice, right, equality
Therein they lose their touch
 with nature, brotherhood and God.

The trees speak
of knowledge and truth
of living life fully
of past, present and future.

It is we
who are not listening
and
we are not listening still.

The Last Sunset of the West

The sun once set on distant lands,
Where empires carved the world with hands,
Of steel and smoke and hollow pride,
But now those shadows start to hide.

The West, in golden robes once dressed,
Now stumbles toward its final rest,
Its towers tall, its markets vast,
Are echoes of a fading past.

Beneath the heat of rising suns,
The Global South now walks as one,
From deserts dry and jungles deep,
A promise wakes from ancient sleep.

The rivers sing their sacred song,
The mountains rise, the weak grow strong,
From ashes born, the phoenix flies,
With fire burning in their eyes.

But heed this tale of sorrow’s breath:
The dying West will taste of death—
Not swift or silent, but a cry,
A wail beneath the blood-red sky.

The sorrow of a world undone,
Where once the eagle kissed the sun,
Will echo in the wind’s lament,
A bitter, bruising testament.

Fear not the night, for dawn is near,
Though shadows fall and fall severe,
From pain will rise a world anew,
Where justice breathes and life is true.

O sons and daughters of the earth,
Prepare to witness death and birth,
The old will crumble, bow, and cease,
To birth a world of hope and peace.
