My wife maintained her spirit and humor all through the pre-op preparation process. She
joked and laughed with the nurses, assistants and doctors as they poked her, pushed her, squeezed her, took blood, took measurements, poked her some more and basically, just abused the hell out of her in preparation for what we knew was a serious operation.
Many of the healthcare professionals did not know what to make of her smiling face,
sarcastic tone and bubbling humor as they were all well aware of the seriousness and risks involved with the upcoming surgical procedure. But her good humor was unwavering.
In the six months since her dissection and the two months since the decision to perform this operation, my wife did her homework. She knew exactly how serious her condition was and the risks involved with this necessary operation. And yet, she kept her spirits high and her optimism never dipped.
When the anesthesiologist came out just minutes before they rolled her into the operating room and explained, for what seemed like the one thousandth time in the last two weeks, the risks and seriousness of her procedure, for the first time, I noticed signs of fear on her face and saw tears well up in her eyes.
Holding my hand as we approached the operating room where I was to be left behind, she looked up at me and said, “Take care of yourself and our Spencer”. The doors swung close and the six hour operation commenced.
It’s now seven days later and Cindy is well on her way to a full recovery. The doctors could not be more pleased with how the surgery went and with the rapidity of her recovery. There is no reason to believe that, within 8 – 10 weeks, she cannot be back to her normal, active self.
She is back to joking, being sarcastic and a regular pain in everyone’s ass – she is slowly
becoming Cindy again.
I will never forget, however, in the one second of fear and worry, how her concerns were
about the well-being of me and our son – and, not about herself.
I love you Cindy Flach.
And, I hope that if you ever decide to read any of my poems – given you do not understand my obsession with writing these silly things – I hope like hell, you choose to read this one.
Welcome home, love.
He that finds a wife,
Finds a good thing.
He who is willing to lose His life,
For his really loves her
Like Christ did the church.
He who really provides for her
Has grand blessings in store.
Proverbs 18: 22 explains it
For you; "He who finds a
Wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from
The Lord. In other words,
A wife is two rewards
In one. She is a helper
And you from God; you
Gain from giving the right
Woman your last name.
The scripture Proverbs 5:18
States clearly that " May
Your fountain be blessed,
And may you rejoice in your
Young wife." As long as he
Is thankful to God for your
Wife and treat her right.
He'll be blessed in life.
He who spends time with her,
In the presence of God,
Is living the life divine.
He who praises his wife,
Will blessed for the rest,
Of his life. He who prays
With and for her will appreciate,
Her true worth.The greatness,
Of his wife makes his soul sings.
He adores the joy to him that,
She brings. He cherishes the
Good thing like Christ cherishes
The Church. He reminds her,
For sure that she is his good thing,
And he will love her and her only.
He treats her as his own body.
His love flows to her for life.
He's glad that he found a good thing,
Because when he did, he found his wife.
"He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." Proverbs
18:22
"May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in your young wife. Proverbs
5:18

I realized that I so often write on the beauty of love
The wonderful joy that it brings into our lives
But as we all know, there is also the other side
The side when two people disagree on something
Be it big or be it small, it has the power to become large
The little things can destroy love
Like frozen water has the ability to split hard rock
The relationship between my wife and I, have faced -
Obstacles the size of the Grand Canyon
It is of my belief that pride is the worst enemy of love
And in all honesty pride is but a deceptive illusion, the father of lies
Please don’t get me wrong we have the right to have pride
In things we do and who we are
But it is imperative for us
To control that pride and not let it control us
Don’t fall prey to the illusion that you are better than others
We are all created equal; each of is a child of God
If I may offer some advice regarding a relationship
That will help yours nourish and grow
Put your pride in the one you love above your own
Because self pride or ego if you will, is the devils tool
In fact that is what got him cast out of heaven
I hold my wife in higher regard than I do myself
And she feels the same about me
And that makes it very easy for us to communicate
Which of course is the key to a healthy relationship
What she says means more to me that what I say
What I say means more to her than what she says
And that makes it very easy for us to stand on common ground
In admiration of each other
He stood upon the parapet
Tittering on the ledge
Giggling to himself
And shuffling closer to the edge
For seven storeys down below
His wife and lover stood
He knew what they were up to
And it surely wasn’t good
Chuckling to himself, and
Moving slowly to the verge
The anger burning deeply, and
It fired a deadly urge
Laughing like a loony
Leaping headlong from his roost
Madly flapping arms to give
His fall an added boost
“Your smiling now you rotten cow
You won’t find this so funny
I’d rather die than let you try
To get hold of my money”
Half way down toward the ground
His progress slowly halted
That crazy grin turned awful thin
He thought his plan was thwarted
His braces caught the flag pole
And it hindered his descent
He hovered for a moment
And then flying up he went
Bouncing up and bouncing down
Till finally it stopped
He smiled a rueful smile, and then
His trouser buttons popped
Continuing his journey
As he hurtled earthward bound
His wife and lover sidestepped
And he crashed into the ground
Laughing like a drain he seemed
To find it awfully funny
Though nearly dead he turned and said
“I really missed you honey”

For so many years she was my wife
Now she is just a memory in my life
Everyday that goes by
I find it hard to keep a dry eye
I was born to love my kids and my wife
Which I will for the rest of my life
I realize some of my poems are sad
Thats how it is losing someone you love so bad
All I have now are my memories of joy
Dreaming back to the days of my wife my daughters and my boy
Everyday is about the same for me
I eat I sulk I sit and watch TV
I have my first tattoo on my arm honoring my wife
With all the years she was in my life
I wear her name as proud as can be
Wishing she was still hear with me
My wife was my childrens mother
There will never be another
My love for my wife was my first my only and my past
As far as Im concerned she will be my last
I remember back to that first night when I drank some wine
Once we kissed I felt in my heart she would be mine

MY WIFE
A *****
A witch
Necessary evil begin.
Needed her once,
Now yet to kill her
An unfortunate
sin.
Her womb
A vessel
I and she needs to fill.
Yet menopause insanity
My wife should her find a cure pill.
My wife …she’s over the hill
Again, want to kill
thou shalt
cant not fulfill.
From killing her, I should find a cure pill.
My wife
A good cleaner
Diner maker
Betty Crocker
Cake baker.
No compare
Brittany spears shaker
What a sexy shaker
But my wife
Hate her,
She’s moody
Unpredictable
A Dracula queen.
Cant stand her anger
Raging housewife mean
A mean machine
I cant stand her being.
Besides she no longer fit
Those tight
Blue jeans.
She lost her sheen
Gray skin
Unclean
A *****
A witch
yet to kill her
unfortunate
Sin.
My wife, never should have
Let it ever begin.
What if pigs could really fly?
I’ll not get in to how or why
But if a pig could really fly
I’ll have a different life won’t I?
I will have a published book
Of poetry of notes I took
That will enhance my bank checkbook
When pigs can fly
I’ll drive a Bentley or a Rolls
I’ll have a buyer buy my clothes
My audio will be all Boise
When pigs can fly
My wife - you know – the pessimist
When I bring up my dreamer’s list
She’s the one that tells me this
“When pigs can fly”
But I know they have flown before
I’ve got a wife that I adore
She’s such a dream and so therefore
I know that pigs can fly
What if pigs could really fly?
Sometimes I wonder if some try
Fulfilling dreams for you and I
What if pigs can really fly?

I woke up alone today
For the first time in twenty years;
My wife has gone away
Her pillow case still soaked in tears.
We had made it for many years
Through the tribulations and the trails;
How often is a good marriage
Brought to an end by the death of a child?
He died of a rare disease;
That was, of course, no one’s fault,
But how to cope with the loss of your son
Is something we’re not taught.
She couldn’t stay and look at me
Without painful memories;
So packing her things to leave
Seemed the only remedy.
I woke up alone today
For the first time in twenty years;
My wife has gone away
Her pillow case still soaked in tears.
