My focal point

?A focal point is a center of interest ,
?Just one look at you puts me in a state of unrest .
?I'm drawn to you as a moth is to light,
?We are the sun and moon in sight ,
?Different but shine as bright.
?
?You can call it love or obsession ,
?But you are the center of my attention.
?Your image and your words linger in my deepest thoughts.
?What can one do with a heart that is caught.
?I tried so hard but in the end love fought.
?
?Your fragrance sticks around evoking thoughts of you.
?Before I knew it I had fallen for you.
?I turned into love's fool as I smile thinking of you.
?A blank canvas like mine had never witness such colors.
?You are a subject of my art not seen by others.
?
?That smile of yours carries aura that uplifts my soul .
?For you have stolen my peace of mind making me lose control.
?Once my focus is on you , I see nothing beyond the ocean.
?I surrender to you, my heart and the lingering emotion.
?Looking into your eyes is like diving into the depth of an ocean.
?
?You are a book I never dared to read,
?I refuse to move before you take the lead.
?A contrast of personality but a strong attraction.
?You are the center of my attention,
?You are becoming an interesting distraction

Premium Member Still God, through the storm

I don’t feel strong – my soul, it grieves
I don’t feel wise – my spirit sighs, then weeps
I don’t feel sure – my heart cries out
I don’t feel resilient – my life is but a breath…

Once in a while, I remember how she screamed,
The storm of the century – the storm
Who scattered the trees, tore through the hills,
Destroyed the strong and the weak,
Made her way beyond the valleys and creeks,
Sought our land, our mountains, our dreams,
Filled our lives with destruction and despair,
Caused our hearts to cry out…

God, please…

Oh, please restore our lives,
Restore our hearts and our faith,
Restore our dreams and our feelings,
Restore the reasons that we’ve always cared.

God, please, oh please…

Bring us through this devastation.
Free our hearts from this desolation.
Remind us why we can still pray for peace.
Remember our spirits, though dwindling – still believing

God, please, oh please…

Silence the sounds of the tears, the fears
Repair the hearts who hold such dread
Rebuild the lives who’ve been wrecked
Return our dreams, our faith, our peace

God, please, oh please…

Remember us when you bring your grace
Remember that we love You and still praise You
Remember that, despite what we’ve seen,
All the shadows left to heal from that storm, so very real…
Remember, God… we believe You and we agree,
Your blessings still carve out hope, sweetest faith,
Feelings of joy and grace, because of YOU, dear Lord…
We can still say…

Thank YOU, God, for another day
Thank You, God, for hearing us when we pray
Thank You, God, for showing us You’ll stay…
Even when we’re crushed, You make a way
Through everything, every doubt, every shame,
You are the anchor that uplifts and calms,
The answer to all our greatest worries,
The One whose truth is alive in the love
That never grows cold, love that lives in the soul
Who knows that YOU are forever certain.
You always comfort, bring hope in the worst that is,
Silence the storm with Your cadenced still.

When the Snow Melts

When the snow melts, there is joy all around,
Freshness uplifts our senses, hope is born,
Beryl scenes are once more seen on the ground,
When the snow melts, there is joy all around,
Life in varied hues on which zest is found,
Tangerine streaks unfurl this azure morn,
When the snow melts, there is joy all around,
Freshness uplifts our senses, hope is born;

Beryl scenes are once more seen on the ground,
When the snow melts, there is joy all around,
Life in varied hues on which zest is found;
Tangerine streaks unfurl this azure morn,
Freshness uplifts our senses, hope is born,
Delightful times, when Spring comes to adorn.

Premium Member Loving Yellow

Orange and Green would not exist without her
For they depend on her mixture to be created.
Mix yellow with blue, voila – green.
Mix yellow with red, voila – orange.

Yellow is bring, clean, fresh.
Yellow rejuvenates, regenerates, enthralls, and delights.
Anyway for me, and I am only the expert of me.
It uplifts me, and excites me, brings me hope and joy.

Mustard, sunflowers, daffodils, dandelions
Baby chicks, baby ducks, bananas, buttercups.
They all raise me up, inspiring me to be better than I was.
The psychology of yellow for me is amazing; it is my heart.

Bumblebees, sunshine, raincoats, daisies, marigolds.
Firefighter’s jackets, 1970’s infamous happy face.
Bring my childhood swiftly back and make me grin.
Yellow pudding, lemon meringue pie. Yellow tastes good too!

Parakeet, cats, playdough, Tupperware, bedroom wallpaper.
Bring me yellow if possible, for it uplifts me and instills optimism.
It is rejuvenating, refreshing and delightful. Maybe not for everyone.
But for me, and I am only the expert of me.

Child Day Born

Wendsday child filled with woe born into choas cold empty shadow.
she who shivers while her baby glows
small feet and eyes simply close
A tight fist hearth a crying mist
skin that is dark who fathomed sun kiss
kissed on the bridge
of thy nose
curiosity strikes thee small eyes that follow
magnetic warmth that only you dream about cookies and candles and a water spout
hope cools the steam off a dragon's snout an image of worry succeeds his doubt
fire flares but only rage finds out broken glass only acommpany a shout
she knows pain... and he knows now
A love tie broken but why tight bounds?

Fragile mind do you feel sadden at all?
 you laugh and play
pass river sheep small
 you will seek out the forest trees tall
mysterious uplifts whenever you fall
they beck your name they need not call.

You're just a babe
 A scattered brain U
what path do you take
You must be brave!
 you suddenly peer a great goldenly gate
clever u are not
 so vines you break,
unnecessarily so plant life you take
the spirit of wonder you seemingly shake
It's The women who used her hand as a plate!

She guides your light so bright and so pure all through the night her lullaby cures
She chased away your lonesome fear
You feel comfort now that she's here
she a flower who wilts away
pours u her soul as her leaves turn grey
you are captivated by the beauty of her growth she whispers to you like a sacred oath
 she will say to love and to pray and always be wise her eyes will cry you seem to know why.

she can no longer play in Marvelous May
 the sun has to set at the end of the day.
 you weep the woes of wistful Wednesday.

Premium Member Prom of 1970

We all had homemade dresses for prom; well, nearly all of us.
This was back in 1970 while black and white Viet Nam War photos were on TV
Every night, we saw such sadness.
Prom was a reminder of childhood.
Back to the Bibbity Bobbity Boo of Cinderella.

We girls were wearing empire waist dresses.
It was the style, little bows at the top of our hair.
We were fancy poodles, primping in our two inch heels.
Not high ones like our mothers. We had already fallen off those.

Traded in our hip hugger bell bottoms that magical night
For dresses in chiffon, polished cotton, and satins.
We were so shiny, it is a miracle a murder of crows did not carry us off.
The boys had on their best suits; not tuxes.
We were in a small Iowa farm town.
Many of the couples would marry two weeks later after graduation.

I remember how hard the junior class worked to make it beautiful for us.
There were tin foil stars and crepe paper streamers everywhere.
A strobe light, and music piped in from the folk heroes of the time.
Peter Paul and Mary, Mama Cass, Simon and Garfunkel.
Sometimes a song by Cher or Bette Midler but not as often.
The food was fantastic. The company wonderful.
Our first semi-formal dinner. I have never forgotten it.

In one way it was like middle school which we called junior high.
The boys stood around talking and laughing, and the girls danced like mad.
It was such an innocent and fun time! Taking the Viet Nam War,
And the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King
Out of our minds for one magical bibbity bobbity boo night.
May 1970. A memory that uplifts me to this day.
The last time I spoke to some of my classmates.
As a few were sent to Viet Nam after graduation never to return.

Premium Member Fidget Spinners Meditation

Around…around…around they go;
plastic spinners in a row.
Day and night, they spin away;
little dervishes at play.

Children spin them constantly;
like little tops, so happily.
As planes spinning out in space;
they put a smile upon the face.

Colored chakras spinning free;
activating energy.
Ecstatic, super-charged rings;
spinning, whirling hyper-beings.

As they gyrate; help one grow;
we will learn, they create flow.
Electric generators wake the snakes;
they rise to dance as one is graced.

The spirit heals; bestows, uplifts;
levitating brings one bliss.
Colors brighten; bring the light;
to weary souls each day and night.

No fidgeting is needed here;
one releases all their fears.
Dharma opens many doors;
walk on through; the power’s yours!

THE JOURNEY WITHIN

I took a look into my eyes as I reminisce on this journey called life

In my reminiscing, I was lost from the physical world but was live in my thoughts

Just like waves, I was shocked by my findings, just as the hologram, the world is full of fake people

The taste for a better life kills the angel within, now it's here and all that's left are demons, how sad and bitter

What's trust? It's but a plate of potage, bought with my rights

In this ring of life, I've been beaten down but refuse to stay down, I want to be angry at the world but it's not the way

The anger boils hot in me, yet I smile as I walk through my thoughts,

The bitterness of my soul is likened to that of the hulk, but I chose not to be a destroyer

What's the way I ask, but the look in my eyes says nothing, the chaos in my head creates a secret order

The venom from the bite of the viper which I picked out of kindness try to corrupt me, but all mustn't suffer for the sin of one

As the drums of war beats and the chants of my brothers uplifts my moral, I preach love because it's the only way.

Loss fills the air
As people queue;
Death can speak

~~~~~~~~~
A common thread
Links us in gloom;
Mindful faces
~~~~~~~~~

Dry humid March
National mourning;
Heavy hearts

~~~~~~~~~
Gratitude speaks
Multi-racial tones;
Heat wave trials
~~~~~~~~~

Gun carriage cortège
Last journey route;
Crowds salute

~~~~~~~~~
Heavy rains fall
People brave downpour;
Final goodbyes
~~~~~~~~~

Public affection
Never seen before;
Singaporean grief

~~~~~~~~~
Six days of heatwave
Hellish hot and humid;
Seventh day torrent
~~~~~~~~~

What a great loss
A Singapore icon;
Stuff of legends

~~~~~~~~~
Old and young
All races here;
Braving the rain
~~~~~~~~~

Sea of faces
Shouting your name;
Astounding legacy

~~~~~~~~~
Mood of the moment
Loss feeds the strain;
Sky oozes tears
~~~~~~~~~

You cried for us in '65,
2015 we cry for you;
History shows

~~~~~~~~~
Huge debt owed
Our hearts know that;
Rainy salute squares
~~~~~~~~~

See the flags
The heartlands wave;
Broken hearts wail

~~~~~~~~~
History will write
We will remember;
Lasting legacy
Two names stand out:
Lee Kuan Yew lived
For Singapore
A people mourn,
In your passing;
We gel as one
Rest now in sure peace
Your work is done;
Singapore prospers
Premium Member Healed From Frustration Anxiety
Good morning of anticipation’s bliss
marks daily prayer my soul cannot miss
thus, tidings along mirth-filled circumstance
uplifts me, recognizing Sovereign chance...
enclosed around the Lord's loving kindness
to manifest vibrant blissful stillness---
healed from frustration-anxiety pain
by God Who grants chances of wondrous gain.
With such disposition, I face each day
propped by the Saviour's strength upon my way
fulfilling ministry of reaching-out
sharing His love and hope against pride's clout...
clinging to offered service-fortitude
enjoying radiant cheerful quietude---
healed from frustration-anxiety pain
by God Who grants chances of wondrous gain.
Constantly settled to bless and be blest
indeed grateful that Christ does grant what’s best
I'm enabled to live well by His grace
surmounting carnality-weakness trace...
smiting rudeness and hypocrisy blight
midst triumphant glad serenity-might---
healed* from frustration-anxiety pain
by God Who grants chances of wondrous gain.
*Psalm 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
