Path of Pride

Life is filled with daily choices,
some are easy, others not.
Discernment used between the voices
convict emotional endings sought.

Feelings fueled by poisoned passion,
traits we often try to hide.
Anger, bitterness, in-compassion,
worst of all, our stubborn pride.

A lethal weapon in its right,
strong as steel and double edged.
Uncontrolled yet gripped so tight,
securely in our way it's wedged.

It cuts a path before our steps,
moving forward like a dredge.
It builds us up and knocks us down
and often leaves us on a ledge.

The fuel of pride will drive our ways,
leave us lost or give us gain.
We choose to let it fill our days
with joy and sadness, pleasure and pain.

A story's all we leave behind,
tailings high on either side.
Lift your eyes and choose your way
as you cut your path with pride.

Orchard with Cypresses A painting By Vincent Van Gogh

In sunlit fields where olive trees grow,
Vincent wandered, mind aglow.
The blue of skies, a restless sea,
Matched the turmoil he longed to free.

The cypresses stood tall and proud,
Dark green fingers, reaching the cloud.
They whispered secrets to the breeze,
Of madness, pain, and transient peace.

Golden hues of wheat did dance,
In the light’s eternal trance.
A vivid orange, a burning fire,
Igniting Vincent’s deep desire.

His brush swept across the land,
In every stroke, a trembling hand.
He saw in colors, life’s cruel jest,
Yet found in them his living quest.

The orchard, a symphony of tone,
From ochre earth to twilight’s loam.
Greens and yellows, bright and bold,
Spoke of a spirit uncontrolled.

Amid the hues of blue and gold,
Vincent’s soul began to unfold.
A sky so deep, it knew no end,
In every shadow, a new found friend.

And in the cypresses’ silent sway,
He captured night inside each day.
Their darkness did not breed despair,
But held his light with tender care.

A life in color, fierce and bright,
His orchard bloomed in endless sight.
Each brushstroke, a glimpse of pain,
Yet in each stroke, in death regained.

Premium Member Lessons In Godly Behaviour -James 1: 19

Life lessons come in many forms
the important ones we need not forget
listen well the apostle’s words clearly
take it in and you’ll never be in debt

Tune your ears well away to wisdom
be always attentive to all that’s good
make listening your most fervent desire
don’t let yourself forget you really should

Control the tongue don’t let it rule
learn to be silent more than to speak
for this is what the wise should do
then you’ll not be found out weak

Anger uncontrolled an awful thing
it eats away biting sharply inside
be sure not to let anger in at all
stand firm fight hard against the tide

So take heed of these wise words
show yourself one of God’s approved
be firm in conviction under trial
stand strong in God don’t be moved

Advance Knowledge

I met Elmo - he said your civilization is far behind,
you haven't even reached esp, you're just one kind,
there are new 'failsafes,' I can't read your sexual thoughts,
it's a new game now, it's all crosses and no noughts.

I know when you're happy, I know when you're sad,
I hnow all of the misgivings that you've ever had;
how about reciprocal - that's what makes it magical,
but it's measured, predictive and rather mystical.

Here's a bombshell - you're creator was not ours,
your system was faulty - uncontrolled powers;
we regrow like a snake - when you are finished,
we were given a spirit that can never be diminished.

That snake doesn't make a mistake although flexible,
without our help, your future looks terrible.

The Summer of Sixty Five

The summer of nineteen hundred and sixty five
when youth was fresh and newly alive
   fighting the political establishment
embracing and freely loving where we went.
Who were we back then
searching to make and mark our lives
discovering who we were and where we'd been
and loving everyone as friends contrived.
What were we thinking at eighteen
well in sight and on the scene
   of making change to history
and the futures of our self created destiny?
We thought we knew it all with our goals
the drugs, the sex, the rock and roll,
with change teetering on the distant horizon
with God dead and free to soar without religion.
Life moved so quick almost uncontrolled
and we no longer did as we were told,
the change was coming down the road
and sadly now we know -
nothing was to ever be the same again.

Premium Member Rats in the Cellar

Rats in the cellar, squirrels in the tree,
things aren't the same as they used to be.

When I left for school with my li'l lunch pail,
I didn't expect a penguin to swallow a whale.

Such an injustice, I've never seen,
a cantaloupe falsely imprisoned a bean.

It's unheeded screams, uncontrolled laughter,
when it's trolls that live happily ever after.

Doors off their hinges, pancakes are stacked,
biscuits are burning, windows are cracked.

Termites in the baseboards, rabbits that fly,
pigs that regularly take to the sky.

Voices that whisper, mad dogs that bite,
winds that go howling and look for a fight.

Wrapped in cellophane, mixed in a blender,
taped up in cardboard and returned to sender.

Rainbows and ravens, kaleidoscope dreams,
leafless branches, gallows lit by moonbeams.

Music boxes, pink ribbons and bows,
tags come on packages; tags come on toes.

Curtains lifted, sick, unsavory scenes,
gear wheels in gear wheels run strange machines.

Dissected, disowned and double-downsized,
unaided, unacknowledged and unrecognized.

Puzzles, conundrums that cannot be solved,
water plus turpentine make witches dissolve.

Pimentos are diced, harsh words are spoken,
nightmares are jumbled; eggshells are broken.

Lost in the doldrums, eyeballs protrude,
walking on blisters, a horse latitude.

Spineless jellyfish, lackeys and flunkies,
silver tongued vultures, branch swinging monkeys.

Experts and pundits, paid authorities,
Kool-Aid in canisters, down on your knees.

Bishops take pawns, the fat lady sings,
fires ablaze on black nights with kings.

Shattered stars, fragmented stones,
shining splinters, bleak, burning bones.

Songs without meaning, songs without words,
sung by unseen phantoms and silent birds.

Refrigerators with pictures nobody knows,
eyes staring back, no answers disclose.

Spiders and spinning bicycle wheels,
buffalos, bandits, and slippery seals.

Electric toothbrushes, electric chairs,
lethal injections, pushed down the stairs.

Pieces on the floor, a sad state of disarray,
the gift you've left me is insanity's bouquet.

You stole my cookies, pilfered my cat,
laughed at me roundly and turned me down flat.

Mice it in the attic go chitter chatter,
have I lost my wits or gone mad as a hatter?

Darkest day

A Story of Santosh that was entangled in grief
It was just another day, he thought
He stepped out of the house with his family to return
Unaware of the danger awaiting at the accident spot
He and his wife, children went out jolly, talking about
They got onto the bike and went for a ride as usual
Oh, Santosh, if at all you knew
Your day ends in a dreadful growl
You are broken and bleeding, growling on the side of the road
Wounded, wondered who would save his loving family lying a distance away
His wife watches from afar helplessly, two kids and her husband mourning uncontrolled
Oh, that dreadful day, will they ever forget the misery life has thrown
The death of his only budding toddler, struggling to breathe and left the world reeling
If at all, he knows the danger ahead.
His family would be living safely and securely
Santosh had to pass this day and face the pain as long as he is alive
God allowed this, and they have to let go; their sorrows and pain
Which seems to be healed but remains fresh in life, displeased
Life gives joy and sorrows; smile in your good days and cry when no one sees

OBSESSIVE

            My prime confession
            is frantic obsession
                      on You, My Dearest.
            Romantic aroma
            puts me in dilemma
                 Wish to be your closest.

You stay in core of heart.
            That fact I am alert
     . but hypnotized, My Dear.
             Exotic, obsessive
             Just running possessive
                   Sweet Heart! Am I clear?

             On muse, I get amused,
             always too confused,
full glass of love I drank.
             My only dream, desire
             to adore and admire
                you, being mesmerized, and sank.

               Obvious obsession
              Uncontrolled sensation,
                         Unidirectional
               Emerald Emotion
              Pearly Piercing Passion
                       Blind love, non parallel.

            Yes, Me , truly obsessed
            admit myself 'Blessed'
                      to relish my pleasure.
            My obsession of Love
            I possess, I deserve:
                    Precious Peerless treasure.

Seeing

Seeing the world from above
  how strange the blend so obvious;
swirls of fields, mountain and valleys,
  all intermingle and flow easily
fit together less like a puzzle then the whole.

Seeing the world from below
  nothing seems fluid;
each piece a separate entity
  still and stationary in place
sole survivors in a solitary wasteland.

Seeing outside the flow of the city
  suburbia grows uncontrolled;
steel away the earth, trees and sky
  so that even night
steals the moon and stars from the eye.

Seeing goes beyond this world
  so that life is immersed;
drawn away from creation and nature
leaving behind and a look back to see
all that made it living and alive.

Face it with courage …

Your own terminal illness
Though you have reasons to dread
think good thoughts instead
Your own terminal illness
Though you have reasons to fear
keep your loved ones near

  Can’t sleep at home
    feeling all alone
    Thoughts do roam in
    dark places unknown
    Thoughts of no tomorrow
    fuel uncontrolled sorrow

  Overwhelming stress
    from so many tests
    Under duress
    with no success
    Lost hope of recovering
    Now death is hovering

Don’t stay discouraged
Face it with courage …

Your own terminal illness
Though you have reasons to dread
think good thoughts instead
Your own terminal illness
Though you have reasons to fear
hold your loved ones dear

  Can’t sleep at home
    feeling all alone
    Thoughts do roam in
    dark places unknown
    Thoughts of no tomorrow
    fuel uncontrolled sorrow
    Lost hope of recovering
    Now death is hovering

Face it with courage …
Your own terminal illness

  Don’t stay discouraged
  Face it with courage
    Beware of rancor
    Hope is an anchor
  (Don’t stay discouraged)
  Face it with courage
    Hope is an anchor
    Face it with courage …
