In a land far far away.
Down by the sea.
Out near the caves.
There stood a giant.
And he was after me.
Only because he liked
the taste of human flesh.
I thought maybe I could reason
with this giant of a troll.
I tried to tell him I only came
for the sparkling glass.
It must have come from the sea
just for me.
For the sea is wise in the way it rolls.
To bring in these sparkling pebbles
just for me.
He replied, well, the mountains and
the hills must be wise to send you
" a human" down from the mountains.
Just for me.
11:30 AM 6/12/ 2015 Friday I wrote this down because of my 8yr old granddaughter. I ask her to tell me a story, She did And I told her this story. She said I should put it on my poetry page. Because they will like it. There is a beach in northern Calif. that sends the polished glass back onto the beach.
Huell Howser did the show for 18 seasons called California's Gold. It was on every Sunday. He passed away Jan 2013, now the show is called Rob ON The Road which also showcases Calif.
My heart signed
For the prince it pined
Yet, horror has just struck my inner being
The news read that to a lovely maiden my prince will be marrying
Horrible was such a messenger who brought me such a miserable scroll
Surely he must be mad, why maybe he was even a troll
Working for the evil witch
The one who always wished to be rich
The one who sent us all this message
Reading which my heart went into a rage
Yet, as I look out at the scenery
I saw, the prince walking over the balcony
He was coming towards me
Surely to enjoy a chat
As was his usual habit,
He did claim to love my eye's clarity
I re-read the message again
If the prince did love another
In such amorous ventures I would never gain
Strongly I would try to let go of him forever!
Invited you all are, to the town's grand wedding
Please be dressed and all decked up
You shall enjoy some dance and some pleasurable sup
After all, the prince's wedding is surely a unique happening
How could it be
What shall become of me
My heart beats only for his eyes
Now I shall have to live on with lies
Bold, I chose to face him
Maybe he shall get over this mad whim
Maybe he has come to seek forgiveness
Come, let me go, hopefully, relieved shall be my distress!

Another tribute to
To one of my very own personal
favorites
The one and only
Fenian yoda poet laureate
Sir O . B . 1 of K
Who is both simultaneously
blessed with
Oscar Wilde wordsmith craft
And at the same time
Dave Allen's prolific witt and
sense of humour
Exactly just what you said David
A poetic poet's job well done
Is when it inspires thoughtful
thought and in doing so another
poet to write
A poem about a similar
experience of their own
That and gratitude
So keep it up Sir long
may it last and you write
Because i for 1
Love your work
The way it inspires me to
think before i start to ink
And that to me is the best
advice
One aspiring writer
can pass ever pass on to
another fellow poet
That and do not for a single
second let anything a
jealous troll says
Put you off from doing what
you love or steal the joy out
of it
And hey you never know
1 day in the not to distant
future
One day you yourself may be
on the worthy recipient of a
comment entitled
Congratulations on a job well done
You inspired me to pick up
my pen and write a doodle
of my very own
Crackling with the intensity
and as bright as a billion candle
bright neon light-saber
To protect and shine a light
upon the darker side of the poetic
arts
Original nursery rhyme ~ Old King Cole
“Old King Cole was a merry old soul
And a merry old soul was he;
He called for his pipe, and he called for his bowl
And he called for his fiddlers three.
Every fiddler he had a fiddle,
And a very fine fiddle had he;
Oh there’s none so rare, as can compare
With King Cole and his fiddlers three"
My original parody
Old King Troll had a very long pole
And a very long pole had he
He called for his wife (she’s his trouble and strife)
And he called for his mistresses three
King Troll sat in the middle …his wife said you’re on the fiddle
This fact King Troll couldn’t deny
All the women took a swipe at him
and gave him a black eye!
Alexis challenged me to do a parody of Old King Cole nursery rhyme

New Poem
Old King Troll was out of control
An Internet stalker was he
He sat at his desk (he was really grotesque)
And he made lives a misery
With computer sites he’d fiddle, (only leaving for a piddle)
He would lurk there for many hours
The cops finally caught up with him
And now he’s put behind bars!

It was a party of fleas who dropped some tea into the sea
Created a baby that left its mommy
Now there is an elephant and donkey in the room
So, lets asked who’s the bigger ***?
A spark, a flare, lighting a camel, an affair
Puff of smoke gone, what went wrong?
Bully the pulpit, who’s the culprit
Line drawn and divided by two
A state of iron bars but let’s call it a zoo
Divided into a system of them vs you
Don’t lose your autonomy
Though everyone is still just a monkey
Collectively a swarm of angry bee’s
The brilliants of hatred and judgment
The embellishment establishment pageant
Yesteryear's of days past are today's fears
Financiers, volunteers as November nears
Comparisons, divisions of wealth’s occupations
Frictions, contradictions, comedians
Who will be the next king of the jungle?
Both proclaiming to be the blissful angel
Tis the mating seasons bestial battle
Birdies tweets all about it on the their social
Scandal! Scoundrel! Oh, look there’s a squirrel
The eternal feral quarrel circle
The apex creatures are very territorial
For the king or queen, gerrymandering
The two-party system is the grand pyramid scheme
Bunch of ***holes looking up and bunch of **** looking down
Kiss up, gallop, gossip, stirrup, who will win the crown?
In this cage, enrage, what’s on the front page?
Who’s saying what about minimum wage?
Outrage about an issue? The cockatoos will throw a horseshoe
Here, eat this grass, here, pray at mass, or don’t
They will provide an antidote
Cheer, this one is such a deer, so sincere, so clear
Ok, the political evolution will find a way to prey on the economic roadway
Confusing rat race values, turn to the news and find out who will lose
Here, oats for the goats. No, the grass is greener over there
But be aware because there is a monster troll lair
Despair not of this nightmare, the election will swear to another road
The only condition for this prince is you must kiss this toad
Bam, the payload full of taxes and other critter’s pensions
Hurry up and cooked this eagle thanksgiving is awaiting
Tis the season for the hating, frustrating, debating,
Won, the elephants and donkeys parties are one hell of celebration
After-all in this zoo, the keepers and guests are laughing at you

throwing rocks at crippled dogs
torturing non-classroom frogs
wallowing in self made bogs
pure jealously – non-feral hogs
consuming nothing but the same
the daily slop, a little grain
the grayish mud a match for brain
an open gate too much a strain
peering from their darkened sty
envying the darting fly
suspicious of the black crows cry
entrenched in deep snouted lie
believing that their bloated shrieks
elevate such brutish freaks
to tops of clear sky bluish peaks
to trash the goals that others seek
warriors without a soul
fighting from deep in a hole
guarding the emptiness they stole
mocking the songs of bridgeless troll

Blustery sky I have read your blotted scroll
Your balmy reams with angry portents roll
A bleary tempest o'er your tranquil plains doth roil
Blackened tenants perch on your billowy shoal
With shutters as dark as night as black as coal
Shading your gilded beams; with menacing shadows troll
From foaming mouths their brackish discharges dole
Stirring your seething pot; bleaching your blithe soul
O'er burnished strand their angry tides stroll
Spewing drops of misery; their boisterous nature to extoll
In thunderous chorus they sound their deafening drumroll
They sear your azure canvas and scorch every silky atoll
Stoke breezes with haunting whispers droll
Oh, blustery sky enfilading torrents seep through every porous hole
Fair lady, look down, see me in this hole,
beaten by a creature to be dreaded,
this ill-made, unsightly, disfigured, troll,
conquered by a monster many-headed.
The moment mother screamed and I was born,
the beast's heads stared upon me filled with hate.
I pared an ugly one that was called scorn,
and left home when I could to meet my fate.
Looming precariously from above,
the brute left me here in my final hour,
delivering dire blows - first pain, then love.
Dear lady, please place a futile flower
as I bid farewell to the woe and strife,
and the monster, now dead, but once called life.
So let me get this straight
(if I can use that word
in a totally non-offensive way)
Jack and Jill now get bottled water
Delivered.
Little Bo Peep
Keeps her sheep on leash
And cleans up after them.
The Three Billy Goats Gruff
And the troll
Play Bridge
The Ugly Duckling
Can no longer identify
As a Swan
Hansel and Gretel
Take the “witch”
To the spa
For a steam and sauna
Little Miss Muffet
Moved her tuffet
To a “spider free” zone
The “Big Bad Wolf”
Is now with “IT”
Trouble shooting
Grandma’s laptop
After installing 5G
Internet access
For the Three Little Pigs.
And the Three bears
Take Goldilocks
To IKEA.
