Premium Member Broken Vows

Inspired by following quote :"Broken vows are like broken mirrors. They leave those who held to them bleeding and staring at fractured images of themselves." — Richard Paul Evans
********************************************************************************************************

Vows that`re broken, is trust lost to time
Like a fractured mirror with jagged lines
That reflects shattered images quite deep,
Secrets that the fragments can barely keep.

The shards cast a warped and distorted view,
Each splintered piece, a pining painful hue,
Of what we wrongly thought would surely be,
A trenchant testament to what's set free.

A hopeful gaze now turned to pricking pain,
The joy we envisaged now drips like rain,
A future wrecked with a wet misty veil,
Leaving behind a tiresome tasteless trail.

We try to piece the mirror back with care
But oft and anon it leads us nowhere,
The damage dealt too tall, torn far apart,
With hopeless haggard hands and hurling heart,

The sharp sarcastic edges still remain,
A woeful whisper of the old refrain,
A reminder of long lingering lies,
Beneath a cold and shady shrouded sky.

The reflection now shows a fractured soul,
Beyond our access, beyond our control,
A tapestry of what wholly went wrong,
Where sad sanguine shadows sorely stretch long.

The outer beauty gone, the wholeness fled,
The rosy dreams we nurtured, now lie dead
With cherished vows broken by careless words,
Like apples slashed with the edge of sharp swords.

With all efforts to join the pieces near,
The void remains, a tearful doubt and fear,
Though we try hard to hide the broken scene,
Memories linger of what might have been.

Broken vows, like broken mirrors wreck trust,
Reduced to ashes, turned to dirt and dust,
Two fates once entwined, now a sombre art,
Two fractured spirits bleeding, torn apart.

Siesta followed by Tapas Fiesta

I would choose Iberian over Siberian a true culinary librarian

Epicurean yet utilitarian not barbarian don’t be a contrarian

Top picks & tricks from heady cultural mix definitely not aryan

Runaway or just the gravy train arcane but with modern refrain

Can’t restrain or contain the insane foody reign of this domain

Go like the clappers for Tapas fiesta then siesta the slow lane

Rally your pals with the gals go dullally down any hidden alley

Croquetas or Las Gambas or just Patatas Bravas in Las Ramblas

Paella the story teller paprika bestow Chorizo glow best seller

Scarlet harlots prawn p*rn dig suckling pig jig a verdant valley

Have a trenchant penchant for any merchant of the don Jamon

Svelte slivers melt tastebuds pelt flow across the Iberico rubicon

Flavour flotilla scintilla of morcilla or tortilla to savour all thriller

Rain falls mainly on the plains starter or main food reigns in Spain

Premium Member Hymn of the Heart

Hear these hibiscus hymns” humbly pour out,
 A string of verses to  dispel dark doubts;
Across the open pages, they unfurl,
A sad searing summer's song for the world.

The stanzas display vibrant rhythms deep,
Secrets that sharp shadows of the night keep,
 With trenchant, tearing thorns greeting the face
Spreading across the sands of time and space.

A single word, a wholesome whispered plea,
Unlocks the vault of distant memory;
A silent scene spreads out, a vibrant hue,
A glaring truth revealed, both fresh and true.

The poet's soul sustains a slim, slender string,
Where hidden joys and sullen sorrows sing;
It opens up, a fragile floral bloom
To banish shadows, chase the greyish gloom.

The hymns hum “the song my soul never seeks”,
In sensitive rhythms that to the heart speaks,
Each verse unfurling a distressed prayer
Blown in the air like unhappy whisper.

They vibrate “the chorus a poet bleeds”,
Unable to sustain his daily needs,
A roaring resonance that understands,
 Fragility of hearts in distant lands.

The chorus swells and swells, a gentle tide,
Where gleams of empathy can now reside;
It stands so delicate in sunlit rays,
Lost in the midst of nature's golden haze.

It speaks of fateful loss, of love's sweet sting,
The heart, a shattered mirror that don`t cling,
The hopes it dearly cherished, lost and gone,
The day`s journey it has to tread alone.

But in that bleeding, seams of strength are found,
A fertile, consecrated lowly ground,
Where signs of letting go begin to glow
And seeds of solace slowly start to grow.

So let us listen close, when winds are mild,
To nature's solemn song, so sweet and wild,
Hear these holy hibiscus hymns gush out
Deep feelings that dispel the mist of doubt.

JUST A TRIP TO THE FUTURE

I have slept while awake,
And on an oneiric trip,
To stroll down the street;
And prognosticate in these rays,
Behold the white monster,
With a mask to fissile...
So, I peeped through the lens,
Of my conscience, my acme!

The future is nude and rude,
When I ask, why the quotidian;
The terror in her voice trembles,
The mightiest of the old...
Even in their red badge of robes,
The future wears the crown,
Of a fire emitting dragon,
Opening her claws like Hamlet’s sword
While I sat through it in a lingerie!
The sight has omitted me;
Leaving me not near the latrines;
As I sat far in the future,
My time had past and I’m no more,
This trip is fast yet slow in thoughts,
The insight of her bailiwick;

These lines are bigger than books,
Longer and truly soaring in croaks,
I see building falling, crashing to the down,
The silhouette of this prescience emote,
With the doughty of illusion,
The gumption to trenchant signet,
To tell you a folklore about a geographer,
Who saw the end of the empty earth!
So, I couldn’t think of anything new again;
The words, grammar and everything gone,

Leaving solitary an empty lexicographer!
Please take my honest nunnery words,
While you work and hard to beat acme,
Remember to take care of yourself,
External and internally for eternity awaits,
For in the final end of an ululating time;
Death smiles at us all,
And all a man can do is to smile back.
Sorry to tell you that I’m back,
From my short terrifying trip...
And truly the shadows were of a dream.!

Have to admit.. do have a bit

Of a trenchant penchant

Alright adore southpaw purveyors

Dabbles..pique aroused..rabbles in the stands roused

Unique sleek cheek of their chic espoused

Bowlers...reduced to trollopes

Us seduced by players with not

Just a dash of flash panache

But hefty lefty dollops

Innings built by the lilt of lyrical levers which tilt to the hilt

Lush lullaby scores..lapping sandy shores with endless encores

Who’s get the ring or Tiara as

Greatest Caribbean queen ever been seen..
(sorry notions of one of Billy Ocean's top pop potions)

Most blessed and least stressed..every ball caressed and finessed

Also always impeccably dressed…the Calypso

Maestro…lothario…romeo…guru…Brian Charles Lara

First one since the Don to go so much bigger

Score..such vim on a whim…verve and vigour

Doing what only Bradman can but with

More touch..canny elan trigger than rigour

Frightening elite feet..like lightning

Remember in his pomp the 1994 romp

First class farce..501 not out rout..never been out done

Then in 2004.. did it once more..set the new top score

He’s Kane and Abel…top of the table fable for sure

All time prime sublime number one?

From the land of the other hand

Can anyone outgun or out ton?

Travesty to shun..majesty

Artistry of the Lara tapestry

What he brought to the sport

Memories never wane

Once Again Yesterday

Often in the spoken word,
perhaps a long farewell,
Passion, romance soon to bud,
but only time will tell…
Once again yesterday,
and twice before next week,
in a simple act of kindness,
or a gift that’s quite unique…
An ode to trenchant dreamers,
matchless lovers from afar…
It’s okay – tomorrow then,
they gaze upon the stars…
Will two star-crossed lovers,
spell bound nonetheless,
spend their lives together…
and be jointly laid to rest?
Some believe the perfect life,
is likely just a myth.
Live and learn - and look again,
for life itself’s a gift….

Long Since Stopped Binge Reading Bertrand Russell

I, (a bookish educated intelligent nerd,

Not so much to boast
