Deck the Yuletide Halls

Winter’s bounty of floral beauty ever blooms through snowy nights
 Even when nature wears a mantle bold stitched of frosty weather
  By warming fires and in the apparel of amber scented candlelight.

Wreaths of Holly and of ivy grace the halls - a visitor’s delight
 Red poinsettias – white or pink – surely memory’s treasures
 Winter’s bounty of floral beauty ever blooms through snowy nights

A Snowdrop Tree, Jerusalem Cherry sugarplum visions of Snowberry White
 Garlands twined of fir or pine in seasonal decorations endeavors
  Even when nature wears a mantle bold stitched of frosty weather.

Evergreens wear twinkling lights against the winter’s withering might -
 Frankincense perfumes the boughs and laughs in merry measure –
 Winter’s bounty of floral beauty ever blooms through snowy nights.

Christmas Cactus in neon blooms for a wond’rous sight
 Cyclamen deck the halls along with colorful Yuletide heathers
  Even when nature wears a mantle bold stitched of frosty weather.

All nature bows before the Word who spoke their nascent birth in light
Strike the harp, join the Christmas chorus – joy, goodwill and peace invite
Winter’s bounty of floral beauty ever blooms through snowy nights
By warming fires and in the apparel of amber scented candlelight.

SUGARPLUM

Sugarplum I love you so, kiss me head to toe, make all my dreams come true.
Your love is so sweet, like a berry on the tree, you entice me with that smile, it makes me smile back with joy.
Sugarplum you are the one, who makes me melt in your arms, you make all my moments feel so great.
Sugarplum I remember all the love you been given, like a sunrise every day, I look forward to each sunny day.
Sugarplum I love you so, you make all my blood flow, you make my heart beat with joy, making every day feel so real and pure.
Sugarplum I love making memories with you, I will love you forevermore.
May our love be so blessed that heaven sings with us, may the angels sing our song, giving a joy so profound.
Lifting prayers to God, today and always.

Exhortations Against Ole Saint Nick

the (better late than never)
free admission confession, exhortations against Ole Saint Nick

treasured untold shenanigans of Santa,

his elves and reindeer discovered only

by colluding via "FAKE" fluke

did I manage to worm winning the trust

among Christmas elves and reindeer

confident this generic guy,

would never breach scandalous

tied blindfold over my eyes, didst steer

me hermetically sealed,

which crawl space required me to hunker

and despite one hundred percent bug-free,

a whispered stance opted just to make sure

no unwanted eavesdropper could overhear

plus every participant swore an oath, cuz

any leaked real or “FAKE” information,

would spell imminent demise to be near

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midnight shakes frost
from his whiskers~
Chester the squirrel
slips into the chimney,
claws click on brick,
tail a question mark
in the soot.
Inside his sack:
acorns wrapped in tinfoil,
stolen sprigs of holly,
a walnut cracked open
to show its golden heart.
He leaves them
in boots,
on windowsills,
behind the dog’s water bowl
(just to watch him sniff).
Dawn finds Chester
back in his oak,
giddy
with sugarplum
theft,
dreaming of next year~
Maybe I’ll learn to drive a sleigh.
When duskfall  glints across a  lustrous  arc
Deepening the green of our Yuletide pine;
My eyes capture this eternal  wonder
As  a ladder of bulbs  surrounds  the pole:
Joyful  these hours ,  graced by a ritual
Every late October , Dad’s  tradition
And I , an eve-  daughter  am still beguiled
By such gaiety so markedly engraved,
Adorning  bright twigs with vintage  décor--
Then  a candle is passed ,  our wishes shared
While Dad tucks an angel  crownng the top
Till  Mom gathers us for sugarplum  fare!.
Though older now    this gift of ardor lives  on
My family decking the Christmas tree,
Same time of the year, late October:
I hang gold baubles knowing that a presence
Lights among the sprigs, the winding branches…
For Mom and Dad are felt in this moment
By the glitter of  pine, candles aflame,
A  tree magic eclipsing all my seasons.
"Kris Kringle Kisses Kalliope"
A Dream: the 4th Christmas.
deck the halls
with memories
poets whisper pasts
that are ne’er forgotten
where presents
a life
that’s neatly wrapped
and attempts at
frostily forgotten
tucked under
that big
beautiful
green fir tree
where all the dreams
of poets go
gold starred, tinselled
and angel mounted
ripe cherries
kissed
crassly
under mistletoe
Ah Christmas
capture me up
in your safe
magic arms
let me sip
the nectar from
your sweet eggnog cups
like Puck’s flower flows
on sultry lips
and eyelids
“love-in-idleness”
"The juice of it
on sleeping eyelids laid
will make man
or woman
madly dote
upon the next
live creature
that it sees”
poet or pup
crimson berries crushed
against a velvet tongue
bedazzled and
bewitched
fires crackling
logs like legs
drop and wrap around
the flames
while in my dreams
I await beneath
the sugar coated
blankets of a bed
charmed by snowflakes
dusting houses in a row
through misted windows
where “paper people....
dream
their cardboard dreams”
“how unreal
the whole thing seems
can we be living in a world
that is made of paper mache?
Everything is clean
and so neat
anything that is wrong
can be just swept away”
inside is very still...
not shaken
like a snowglobe -
surreal
damned be
the dams of
Love-in-Idleness
where eyes reflect
your shadow
in my dream
like opium smoke
across cracked glass
remember how we
all once were
some beautiful happy
if we could just pull the chord
so fresh out of ...
class
rewind our time
rewind it
to yesterday
like a toy
across the
ocean bobbing
like a buoy
an Iceberg keens and cries
Nutcracker twirls
Sugarplum
Kris Kringle Kisses
Kalliope
Oberon...
reals
Titania in
Slo mo’
Magic
mmm
Romance
lacy
frosty
melting
snow.
An iceberg cries
in time with
Christmas eyes
For when they placed it on his head
Premium Member Hear Them Ringing
Christmas bells, can you hear them ringing?
All night long: carolers singing.
A magical night,
your eyes shut tight
waiting for Santa’s magic sleigh to land!
Penciled out: is the last day.
So tonight: is the right night.
And sleep seeds dreams,
with sugarplum themes,
waiting for Santa’s magic sleigh to land!
In the morning, we can open presents,
sharing smiles as they get passed around.
I'll ask, is one for me?
You'll say: yes, more than one:
but you must wait till Christmas morning.
So calm down,
dream of things you desire:
hang your socks by the fire.
Leave Santa a snack
then go hit the sack,
waiting for Santa’s magic sleigh to land!
In the morning, we can open presents,
sharing a smile that's passed around,
And we'll attend all the festive events,
at least the ones within our town.
On this eve, nerves are tingling.
Can you feel them?
In the air, bells are jingling.
A magical night,
your eyes shut tight
waiting for Santa’s magic sleigh to land!
