Be true to thine self and shine

It is the lairiest of epochs

Ignore slop do a pop vox

Chock a block with shocks

But the scariest of tik toks

Snapping like hungry crocs

Another spate of hate docks

Photos that everyone clocks

Those ones who girls mocks

Are as deadly as small pox

Aren't all as strong as an ox

Shaking from online knocks

Drowning in instasham lochs

Stinks like young men's socks

Mistaking that a cure’s botox

Crowning a theory I defrocks

That faking makes you a fox

Solution sells comes out a box

Lies stir fries in corporate woks

Smells fishy like out of date lox

Why jog cheat the elite flocks

Fatty injections vanity smocks

As the poor everything hocks

Pharma firm flogs all its stocks

Not just peahens also peacocks

Androids on steroids rippled jocks

Muscle bound like the Springboks

Why are so many blokes.. cocks?

How about all go on a long detox

Take note your boat you’re the cox

Winner is the inner you which rocks

Fashion rations compassion is bollox!

Premium Member Time For Children

Once in a blue moon
Once upon a time
Time to wake up
Time to tell the truth
Truth will come out
Truth will set you free
Free to be yourself
Free to fly
Fly far away
Fly with eagles' wings
Wings that lift you high
Wings steady and strong
Strong as an ox
Strong enough to last
Last forever
Last call
Call a friend
Call collect
Collect coins
Collect your thoughts
Thoughts of love
Thoughts of people
People who matter
People who care
Care for the sick
Care for their souls
Souls that are lost
Souls redeemed by love
Love that never fails
Love that won't let go
Go for the gold
Go in peace
Peace of mind
Peace with God
God Most High
God is love
Love beyond measure
Love without end
End of strife
End of days
Days of our lives
Days bright with hope
Hope for all people
Hope for the future
Future of the world
Future of our children
Children we have borne
Children of our love
Love
Borne

Premium Member The Unicorn

The unicorn horse,
With a horn on its head,
Is just a mythical animal
who runs in the forest,
The unicorn myth,
shall always live on.
A legendary horse,
next to legendary man.
But through times of greatness,
the myth lives on.
While grazing the grasses.
and roaming the lands.
The unicorn's exsistence,
extraordinarily lives on.
A shimmer of hope,
he has brought to the masses.
a symbol of purity and grace,
throughout the Middle Ages,
The Renaissance horse
has written the pages.
The Unicorn's horn,
was used for defenses,
The Unicorn's legs
could jump many fences,
Across the lands,
and down to the sea.
The Unicorn's exsistence,
was as rare as can be.
Strong as an Ox,
he could never be captured.
By the grasp of the virgin,
the horse could not flee.
The Virgin Mary herself,
would not let the horse free..

Premium Member My First and Final Day At High School

There I was in the first period of afternoon
very nervous on my first day at high school
I was called to headmasters office no less
he'd heard of my stammer, hey this guy's cool

I knew about this guy was a former boxer
6 foot 4 strong as an ox no prisoners he took
but to me was gentle, kind and so helpful
wanted me to start speech therapy, I was shook

So started it I did after the school day ends
always be thankful for that guy for his care
though therapy only helped very little
it was a start of my journey I was to dare

Now some three years later my final day
which was in fact not to be really at all
my only day of truant was that last time
for all leavers were to receive their final call

That call for the lads was a shaving kit
to stand among all the school was too much
so much easier never to return to school
always better to go on in life to find my touch

School days formes our characters
through many experiences comes our way
how we react to these marks us through
in our life indeed there will be our stay

Big and tall strong as an ox
Now dead and gone and buried in a box

Big men these were who traveled the world
Worked hard for their pay and was proud when the flag unfurled

Like rocks they were in strength and mind
Won their battles except with time

Their bodies grew old as the years went by
Glasses replaced the glint in their eyes

They searched and found the answers in life
And grew to weak to fight the fight

From dust the body came to dust it returns
In heaven we live or in hell we burn

I now understand this struggle of old men
Longing to do what they no longer can

Feeling the youth drain out of the bones
Watching old friends die leaving them all alone

I dreamed of these three and awoke in tears
Thinking back on what feels like wasted years

We try to live and capture it all
Running working fighting feeling tall

Then we are old and can't do it all
And have to slow down and feel so small

That is the lesson of loving this life
It is a struggle of chaos and of strife

Our true life as soul is what we forget
We mold to our body thinking its all that we get

But Christ came and told us that we can live on
Full of light and standing tall and strong

Remember we are not this aging body you see
We are young souls living within these old trees

One day our bodies will die and they will fall
Then we will be free and with the Father of all

Closing In, Up Against The, Tumbling Down, Just Another Brick In The, Oh Hell, You Figure It Out

I think I’ll just stare at the wall for a while,
painted in latex, light beiges and creams
Searching for nail holes in random-like patterns,
counting the cracks that appear at the seams

Glance at the baseboard, an alternate color,
maybe a calendar hung from a hook
Red and blue dates with a few of them circled,
months of the year hanging there as I look

Gaze at an outlet, it’s face made of plastic,
switches that point to the fixture they light
Dark jagged lines by a chair that is rubbing,
corners and ceilings and floors all fit tight

Seeing the texture and shapes it’s creating,
abstract illusions as faces appear
Near the reflection of blinds from the window,
illumined distortions that aren’t really clear

Flat as a pancake, not sure if that matters,
straight as an arrow, hey that’s kind of cool
Strong as an ox, that is one man’s opinion,
he was the carpenter wielding the tool

Funny, but while I am sitting here staring,
it seems that it is now staring at me
It doesn’t blink, never changing expression,
making me wonder just what does it see

I shouldn’t worry, it’s merely a structure,
sheet rock and lumber supporting the roof
Something to separate one from another,
see for yourself if you really need proof

So….

That is my day if you happen to wonder,
pen in my hand amidst office decor
Jotting some lines that are found in the boredom,
perhaps next time I will stare at the door

Premium Member Strong As a Bull Elvira

She was a strong woman; everyone said it.
Elvira is so strong! Strong as an ox. Strong as a bull.
She was proud of it too; it was her reputation.

If something needs to be lifted, go get Elvira! Her family bragged.
“She can lift a cow!” her little bother told anyone who listened.
“Elvira has the back of a farmer,” Daddy boasted.

Hank, a traveling salesman needed a strong healthy woman.
He was selling his magic elixir, and he needed a female specimen
To show how potent it was, that it caused super strength.

Her strength would come in mighty handy. He decided to court her.
After their honeymoon they ran into her sister who was married to his main competitor.
“Let me guess,” the competitor said.
“They told you she was as strong as a cow.”

Premium Member Medals Around My Neck

This is a story that goes back some twenty years
To when with the Special Olympics I did volunteer
I worked with the older Olympians who were kind of rough
Caring for them by other volunteers was a job just too tough.

They were sixteen through eighteen and didn’t know their own strength
To keep them under control took me to mental and physical lengths
There were eight young men in my group this Olympic day
I was the only volunteer willing to work with them when the games got under way.

Keeping them together and where they were supposed to go
Required lots of cunning and running by this guy they called Coach Joe.
They worked me ragged and kept me at my wit’s end
But within the first hour we were all best of friends.

They liked to hug me and squeeze me and wrestle me to the ground
Always slugging me and hitting me every time I turned around
They were strong as an ox and didn’t know how easily they could hurt
I got bumps and bruises, one busted lip and was all covered in dirt.

As the medal ceremony began indicating the games were coming to an end
I was exhausted and spent and ready for my body to go home and mend
My Olympians got medals that made them all so happy and proud
They loved hearing the spectators cheering so wondrous and loud.

As I watched from the bench they gathered in a huddle
What were they up to now? I was a little befuddled
Then one by one they took their medals off and walked my way,
Placing them over my head; “Thank You, Coach Joe”, is what they would say.

Their parents and guardians had tears in their eyes
I’ve never been more touched by a simple surprise
Then we all held hands and the Olympic Song we did sing
For me, in my life, this was the sweetest of things.

Children Are Their Parents Blessing

Little children don't you know,
You are your parent's blessings
Their accomplishments are mainly because of you
Little children don't be fooled
Your parents adore and love you
Little children get up and go to school
So that you won't be abused, used or fooled
Little children will grow and soon you too will be old
For I too was once young and now I have children of my own
To age and be blessed to see them grow is truly a blessing
To be blessed with three
To have a son whose heart is as pure as gold
To have daughters whose thoughts are as white as snow
To love them, to carry them, to nurture them
To protect them and call them my own is truly a blessing
A son now a man as strong as an OX
Daughters kind and vitreous awaiting their Grooms
Father, how time has led me to believe
That all children are definitely their parent's blessing.
