Premium Member Three Sonnets From My New Blog, Alas So Shoot Me, I Grieve What Was Lost

(1.)

Alas! So Shoot Me, I Grieve What Was Lost

Alas! So shoot me, I grieve what was lost

Not just youth, but those things Time took away

Within aching heart comes an icy frost

Covering epic pains of such decay!

One may ask, how dare I so complain?

Does Nature cry about hard falling rain?

Yet does not this world its ills promote well?

Oft with sorrows borne from depths of Hell?

Dare I choose to such dark verses to write?

Have I not truly joined in the fight?

Alas! So shoot me, I grieve what was lost

Not just youth, but those things Time took away

Within aching heart comes an icy frost

Covering epic pains of such decay!

Sonnet, repeat stanza ( with triple couplets )

(2.)

Those Lush And Tender, Soft Welcoming Lips

Those flowing curls, glowing luscious mane

Sexy smile, flowering as desert rain

Bountiful beauty, sent to ease heart's pain

Lovely blessing sent for this soul to gain.

Ravishing essence with sweet touch to match

My hesitation, thinking what is the catch

That such a beauty would now my way pass

A goddess, sweet speaking to this poor lass.

Those lush and tender, soft welcoming lips

With true beauty, grace, and curvaceous hips

Yes beauty, as could launch a thousand ships

And greatest king's treasure surely eclipse.

Those tender kisses that were sent both ways.

May we forever - remember that day!

Sonnet,

(3.)

Does Basking Moon Ask Strolling Stars For More

Of beauty, earth, wind and soft glowing sky

Dares this artist to weep tears asking why

Heart and soul must pay such a heavy price

And shed blood for it to ever suffice?

Does basking moon ask strolling stars for more

Space and time to heavenly night explore

And cast upon earth a much deeper hue

To inspire such in poets such as you?

Does dawn its resplendent new rays withhold

That gift, that gleaming beauty to be sold

Or Mother Nature fail to gift new birth

Or poets fail to cast beauty's true worth?

Do such quizzing queries set well in verse

Or fail as being dated and quite terse?

Robert J. Lindley,

Sonnet,

( And what of life, love and this thing we call earth ? )

The Quieter You Are

ENOUGH!

I felt deaf from the ‘noise’ of information,
constantly butting, buzzing against my mantra of:
“The quieter you are… the more you… hear!”
At present, my lifestyle felt media manipulated:
tv, radio, newspaper, mobile, computer.. ad infinitum!
Besieged by endless emails, monopolizing mobiles,
beset by frenzied yaps from apps!
Enough is enough is….. ENOUGH,
I have to escape from the unrelenting hullabaloo.
Can the human brain endure so much information
and who am I, an individual thinker or group dancer?

However, relief sat just around the corner
as next morning I boarded the flight to Reykjavik.
A three-hour taxi journey with a taciturn islander,
people and communication diminishing by the mile
until finally a twig of a boat out to Ellidaey Island.
Boating and bobbing towards the uninhabited …hideaway,
an isolated jigsaw piece of land
off the southern coast of Iceland,
I appraise a small-boned building clinging to its side
with ‘RIDICULOUS’ scribbled all over it.

Someone had said Iceland was a niceland
where you could float free, peace and tranquillity!
But someone hadn’t warned me about…Mr Loneliness
Who was soon tapping me sharply on the shoulder.
So here I sit, three days into my week’s stay
in the island’s lodge, dubbed the world’s loneliest house,
where the only neighbours are passing ships and puffing puffins.
No internet, no tv, no electricity, no running nor strolling.. water
just remote, alone and contemplating my countenance
while wondering if God is lonely too!

Suddenly, clouds bump and bruise against each other
as they race away before the darkness snarls in.
Soon, night has sent in its stormtroopers
who land and splinter into shadow groups
while wind angrily sprints up to the house
bombing it with blockbuster punches.
Then rain happily joins in, machine-gunning the house
until the building begins to stagger and stumble.
I check my face and it is still in the same place
but I sit timorously trembling, tyrannised and terrified
while my eyes follow the house’s dimly lit path
as it wags its tail to the cliff’s edge
and jumps into the void of darkness.
But this poem is a broken wrist, with a twist,
as suddenly, my bones brittle and inside myself…..I faint!
What possibly could happen now?
But there it is..
the knock at the front door!

Hotel Encore the End 5 of 11

Get up and at ‘em be strong,
feeling I am reborn,
coming back and full on
like an atom bomb!

Expose their corruption
my life saw disruption
I’m putting right the wrong
from where I left off,
unsighted and lost,
but I’ve worked it now,
connect the dots,
going berserk (bloaw).

All I needed was understanding,
couldn’t tell, look potty and shot,
standing strong now, shouting all I’ve got.

Giving it back to cowards
for slander attack, you aint empowered,
and this ain’t back handers or slapped faces,
it’s baseball bats and collapsed in places,
metaphor, you fool,
I use words to tell all.

Remember me?
Obsessed with bringing me down,
made an enemy,
left me beaten on the ground,
it wasn’t the end of me,
by you my friend I’ll never be!!

You changed me and strained me,
left me mentally exhausted and drained,
controlling my reputation, like trolls,
shrinking opinions,
Satan spawn minions.

Strolling through life in the free,
silently proud of what you did to me,
living fearless, all clear,
wetting your pants when I reappear,
and I’ve no fear,
alive so all can hear,
survived to get here!!

I’ve so many angles to ring bells,
shake up made up minds in that hotel,
you contaminated them then, now they don’t care,
until one thought they have seems spare,
so they think back to yesteryear,
and suddenly link up as question marks appear,
as lost logic starts to become clear.

What I say will line up, ring alarms,
dislodge your corrupt,
I’m not out for physical harm or have you in a line up.

Telling my story, it’s written,
it’s just this,
come back biting poetic justice,
think I fight just fists,
I've wit and you're just twits.

Now I understand, I drop it move adjust flourish,
understand why I was discouraged,
putting truth on a perch, it ain’t perjury,
my story you got me personally.

and others won’t see the truth if they choose not,
but it’s there in view and now won’t move or be forgot,
so if people refuse they do as they do,
in time they may question clues and ask questions of you.

I’m done with it now anyway,
spoke and exposed,
my link to all this now disposed.
All I needed was to understand, now I do,
I’m a rose re-rose and roses grow,
with thorns that warn,
I’m done now, letting go.

And I’m feeling good too,
I’m living life, and I’m not you.

Nine Eleven

It was another beautiful morning in the city , Workers looking radiant as always
People strolling , Cars horning as pedestrians throttled along the Zebra crossing
The subway was crowded with the smell of early morning rush and sweat
Little did they know that there was a shadow lurking behind the bright sun

The announcer’s voice towered over sound of luggage’s being dragged
Flight attendants smartly dressed hurried towards the boarding gates
Passengers sat patiently at the lounge, awaiting the call of the day
How could they have known that today will change their very lives

Nineteen bearded men dressed in polo shirts scattered amidst the crowd
Each missing the silky feel of their long white robes and heavily woven turban
As they try to fit in with their newly bought Jeans and Sky blue snickers
They knew what was about to happen, their lives was fading as the clock ticked

People going about their work and children being dragged to school
It was the ninth hour of the Mane , The plane heading for a wrong land
Passengers struggled for their lives, calling their loved ones for the last time
They saw the rage lurking in their eyes, the clothing couldn’t hide the evil

A Woman standing in the office, talking to her fiancé on the phone
As she stared out the spotless white glass, she saw it heading her way
She couldn’t mutter a word as her fiancé called out on the other end
Not a step could she take as the wall crashed on her, it was clearly too late

Buildings tumbling down the great heights, fire flying through the sky
Bodies rolling through the sky like the brutal fall of strong rain in spring
Oh what a sorry sight for a blind man, oh what a poison for the soul
Some watched with great tears, they could do nothing to save a life

Deadly cry of babies filled everywhere, smell of blood saturating the air
Heads missing the body buried under the crumbs of the fallen bricks
Some puffing out the last breath in them, hanging on for the very last time
Thunders of sadness roared everywhere, Mourning voices everywhere

So many lives were lost along with Nineteen men who thought it as fate
Not a year passes that we do not weep, for the lost souls of this day
The brave hearts that left us , even at the face of death some struggled
They linger forever in our hearts, as their thoughts dwell within us.

Alone Upon This Halloween Scene(A Fictional Tale)

Stepping out into the Autumn night of Halloween
It is the Witches and the Warlocks turn to dance
Their air of mystery and mystic is all around
The zombies or the Undead cannot speak
but, their presence seems to be abound
Ghouls of the Men
Vampires within the Ladie's evil grin
It is out here on this Night
When old wives tale frighten us with delight
My footsteps carry me beyond the hill
A cemetery there which omits a deathly thrill
We(meaning a friendly spirit beside me)know the Cackle
Inside many tomb, ready to come out like a babe from its mother's womb
The moon is full and the Old Man paints his smile
Trick or treaters are out,,having fun for a little while
Tonight all Halo as strange yellow mist creeps from behind a boulder narrow
Dancing amidst the moaning dead, darkened shadows surround this timid Head
I feel like Ichabod Crane, strolling, with terror, upon the Midnight Domain
Ghosties
Goblins
Maybe the old Headless Horseman
Perhaps, the wretched creature of a certain Frankenstein
Many of these apparitions could be just a figment or Reality having a smile
The Corridor of the dark as I wander through a deserted Schoolyard park
An evil happened there, just a few moons not long ago
Halloween Night..1980 when I was ten
A grade schooler was being hazed upon
He was locked in a decrepit old trunk, tucked, not so sweetly away,in the attic of
this old place..his peers left him for the night

They came back the next morning before the session began
after lifting a set of keys from the sleeping janitor, they went up to the attic to see
The trunk was open,HOW COULD HE HAVE GOTTEN OUT??
tip-toeing near the open trunk and peering down with trepidation..
only to find,a bloody handwritten note, written with EXTREME AGITATION

It said:YOU LOCKED ME AWAY BEFORE YOU DECIDED TO PLAY
BUT..I WILL COME BACK UPON THIS LAND AND MY VENGENCE WILL HAVE
HIS FINAL SAY!!

The school was beset by this horrible deed, and it was closed forevermore
because the children confessed and the Pain would never recede
some say..the spirit of the little lad still haunts the old school
Laughter could be heard if many, who dare, decide to explore it and play it cool

Pardon me,my weary Halloween reader..it is TIME for me to head back before
I become no more,by an ominous Night Creeper(or the Ghost of The Attic Child!!)

A Deer Hunter's Daughter

A deer hunter’s daughter

#1

She illuminates the clock with her laughter,
loves her instagram her tic toc and her saunter,
she goes nowhere near disaster,
she’s got no ear for fear,
no hard summer rain,
no pain when she goes in disaster mode,
she is poetry and prose,
she loves her repose,
and thereafter,
she’s got innocent innocent eyes my Bess,
she’s my daughter.

We go strolling together,
we are bonded,
we have strong hands that feed us,
She forgives me,
I believe her.

Rainy days come, we sit on the sofa,
we amuse ourselves with table tennis,
we take our anoraks and run,
her wild loose hair moist,
to the God’s I would offer,
a sacred deer because we suffer,
all I have is her and she has me,
and me is all she knows,
my big brown eyes,
as we rise together and fall,
to me she’s my all.

We go strolling together,
we are bonded,
we have warm hearts inside us,
She forgives me,
I deliver,
I believe her. ??

#2

She goes strolling through the park,
it’s late in the afternoon,
there’s crescent silver moon,
her heart is on her eyes,
pale blue eyes of summer,
how I ‘d wish I ‘d have her.

She wears a wide brimmed hat,
she has flowers in her hands,
fingers that are magic wands,
a beautiful scarf on her neck,
she holds a candlestick,
her name is Bess and she is blessed,
how I ‘d wish I ‘d posses her.

The deer run scared,
This I can’t bear,
Their eyes are pools of sorrow,
their fear is in her ears,
they are ringing,
why dad?
why?

I can have a perfect 10 in anything I do,
I can paint the sky blue
and they ‘ll tell me bravo sweet princess,
it is my essence,
but when their blood spills,
I can’t come to their defence.

I killed a baldy,
now she will scold me.

#3

Don’t scold me,
I killed life,
now hold me,
it’s sunrise time in the forest,
deer drink their mother’s
milk,
I am honest,
it’s a sight to behold.

My pain is manifold,
and many a time
he comes to feel alive
and alive he can be
next to me
for I am his oblivion,
his warm garment
his heart of gold.

I shoot an arrow,
I aim and fire,
I live with little
and they don’t mind,
they are many,
and I have plenty
of time to kill,
and I don’t do it for the thrill,
it makes sense,
and the benefits are immense,
she plays the music I wan’t to hear,
she is my deer.

                                         When my Life Changed

In midst of my journey of life
Starkly I was shattered by fate
With the razor-sharp blade of knife,
Harshly hurled in hands of Hades.

                                After two long-stretched surgeries
Within the short span of ten days
                                  For curled intestines, with worry
                                     And acute pains, supine I lay;

For months I stayed gazing at sky
                                   Seeking divine grace and mercy,
To shine strength on me to stand high
And rain on me His clemency.

Ever since my life changed for good:
No more my force I could recoup
No more taste of fast fatty foods,
                                   But just the flavour of light soups;

No more the tang of sweetish treats
No more savour of salty feasts,
Gone were days of strolling on streets
                                   With acute pains, the body fleeced;

Days turned into darkness of nights
Amidst the wrath of wild winters,
Despite the rays of sunshine bright
Cold were days of sparkling summers.

On hindsight, the change in my life
Pitched me closer up to the sky
With flame of faith lighting my strife,
                                       Gems of hope shining in my eyes;

Was the change ways of divine will
To field me close to the sublime,
Or payment of debt with a chill,
Only He can disclose to Time.

Reaney's Lamborghini

So slick and sexy. Purred past Temple Bar.
That throaty engine advertising punch.
All legal London, strolling out for lunch,
with turning heads declared, “Now that’s a car!”

So many barristers are – if not losers,
low earners and slow learners. I was one.
I, plodding back from Penge, felt put upon:
a plea, a pittance. Now for Holborn’s boozers.

That mean machine was not for saps like me.
I turned my face towards the threatening rain,
and started wearily up Chancery Lane.
A cup of tea and, hopefully, a fee

awaited me in Chambers. Alloy wheels
slid sleekly, silently – stopped at my side.
That car again! I watched the window glide
wide open. And I almost had to kneel

to see the driver. Handsome. Tall and thin.
The shirt was pastel pink, the tie was silk.
The suit was Savile Row, or of that ilk.
His words astonished me. “Well, clamber in!”

And then the penny dropped. It’s Alex R!
Agility has never been my thing,
so Reaney waited, engine idling,
as I shoe-horned myself into his car.

We’d known each other at the School of Law,
but then our paths had radically diverged.
Me, in pleas and poverty submerged,
and he, the wide blue skies of Libel to explore.

“I’ll run you back to Chambers – beat the rain.”
He asked me what had occupied my morning.
For him, the King’s Bench judges were adjourning.
I’d copped a plea in Penge – how to explain?

The major stars had Alex at the helm
when they unleashed their lawsuits on the press.
Defending thefts of bicycles – and less –
was my domain. He ruled a regal realm.

His clients of the moment, man and wife,
were household names. They’d sold their wedding day
to paparazzi, who refused to pay.
The plaint was something weird, like “Stolen Life”.

The man, from Delaware, big hair, and Jewish.
They crank out movies like there’s no tomorrow
(Chicago, Basic Instinct, Traffic, Zorro):
the girl, from Aberdare – think Cher, and shrewish.

To talk of money is a vulgar thing,
but I was desperate to know his fee.
The forty quid I’d earned, I wouldn’t see
for months to come. His wrists were dripping bling.

We’d be at Chambers in another minute.
“So, Alex,” (best to blurt the damn thing out),
“a case like that. You’re looking at … about …?”
He grinned at me and said, “you’re sitting in it.”

Premium Member The Long First Date

When I was around 14, I attended a church youth conference that summer,
sleeping in a dorm at a college campus and attending fun events with kids of my
same religion. The group I was with one day was strolling along a green shady path
when ahead of me I spied a young man, very tall, slender, and blonde. He had a
Justin Bieber kind of face but with cool piercing eyes, to put almost any young girl’s
heart aflutter. I immediately began to think of a way to meet him, and to my
surprise, I noticed that he was also noticing me!
Meanwhile, another boy, also with a strikingly cute looking face, appeared at my
side and began walking with me. He introduced himself as John Spencer. I would
compare him to an elf because his features were so delicate. His ears were elflike
and his doll face reminded me of the face of an angel. His body was extremely thin
and later I learned that he worried so much for his family and friends that he had
given himself ulcers before the age of 14! As we talked, I kept looking ahead at the
blonde boy, whose name I later learned was Chris. Upon seeing me with John, the
incredibly gorgeous Chris gave me a disapproving look and vanished into the crowd.
After that, I soon realized that John and I were turning into a “couple” and the rest
of my waking moments at the conference I would have my “Johnny Angel”
constantly by my side.
It was young love, first love, fresh, and sweet, and holding hands with John I felt
electrifying chemistry as we intertwined our fingers, playing “handsies,” my favorite
new activity! We ate together and attended together all the activities planned for
our group, and so my first time with a boyfriend was like an extended date, lasting
from the beginning of the week until the end when we rode home together
snuggling on the bus and planning when we would see each other again.
John lived one town away from mine, in the same city where Chris, the blonde
boy, lived too. At future monthly church dances in their city, Davenport, Iowa, I
would see them both and learn more about both boys. They became a big part of
my newly blossoming adolescent life and the romantic way I was feeling about boys,
but that is saved for chapter two of my story!

Premium Member Time Signatures Waltz

Moving through the pulse and the flow
A timetable of fixed dilation
A given
And measured
Ellipse
To the people it trips
As they ride the crest
Of the waves
Of emotions
Just prisoners of
Perpetual motion
Never ceasing
Never pretending to be
Anything more

Born into the days
Of a future long past
Spying its records
From the start to the last
We are all
Just second hand news
In a land of ne’re to be
Nonsensical devotion
The prisoners of perpetual motion
Elate
And repress
The We
The US three

The Me
Myself
and I
Come to share in a life such as these
Checking out the view
I’m just second hand news
In the land of Ne’re do we
Strolling on by and
Pressing on through
Tasked with its provisions
And it’s riddled revisions
Nonsense and fiction
Have found their new diction
Of solar progression
As they encapsulate
The US Three

Strolling on by
Pressing ahead
The RIGHT
And the TRUE
It’s textured and layered deception
Held a managed intervention
Holding within its folio
The signatures of digression
Devoid of emotion
As it’s pendulum swings to and fro
Never able to leave
Or break its grasp
Transcending all in its path

Nonsense and fiction
Wear a guise of suspicion
Take on a new face
A perplexing division
With its sweeping broad strokes
To embrace and replace the US Three

Brushing on past
Just a page before
You knocked on the door
Of the garden where flowers once grew
These steps you’ve taken
Left to the tender mercies
Of fiscal conservancy’s
Hyperbolic uncertainty

Common knowledge
Given breathe
As stolen
A thief
Of the Inspector in chief
His notes plainly written
A solider in part
Has taken my enemies heart
In a fruitless pursuit
Of passion and pain
Here
I remain
In its orbital dance
The great mechanic has cast
His players
The WE
The US Three

Cry the home
On this ellipse
As we roam
The WE
The US Three

The black crow
Watches unfaltering
With his stalwart gaze
As your counterfeit lies
Sought in other men’s eyes
With a forbodance
Which can not be denied
In the wink of an eye
Like the pearls on a string
That glow
And
That shine
As it squares with the facts
In the drivers seat of circumstance
And at length in perpetuity
YOU hold the charter to men’s hearts.
