Premium Member Noahs Ark

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
                                                              Matthew 24:37-39 Bible NIV

NOAH’S ARK

In days gone by it was beyond our imagination to see someone beat with a Barnabus cane. We could accept the fangs coming treacherously close, ready to sink into white milk-skin, but would have had a heart attack to observe the actual piercing, the blood descending, hell ascending to assail our eyes. Today people don’t even close their eyes nor shield their progeny’s lids.

                dark shadows descend
        Collinwood was a riddle
all sorts of curses
        vampires, werewolves, and witches
i shut my opera eyes

I felt innocence drain as I played a Disney movie. When seen through a child’s first memory, it is devastating. The first time they see a cartoon die, get flattened by a truck, get steamrolled on the railroad, step off a cliff. Shall I go on. Oh yes...when they see Simba’s father die, Bambi’s mother die or an Alaskan husky snatch a bunny.

“Grandma, is he dead?”
do i have the heart to say
I must tell the truth
      “nature can be awful boy
when you’re all alone in it”

We cannot shield the child forever, neither do we need to trash their innocence.
Today is the killing fields for all sorts of sordid imaginations. First came the drip drip of water torture, then the dam burst.

Noah’s ark is sailing through.

Dark Angel

May we be saluted as we stand brave and tall.
For we do not smile into the face of danger, though we brace ready for the brawl.

What is that, that that I see, it's the
Dark Angel glaring down upon me.

Hold still my courage tightly grasped.
Guard it against my building weakness.
Surely my hedge stone of strength falls fast.
For with gaping mouth, my soul's aghast.
O guardian angles where art thou?
Of your essence, I do not see!
Upon you, I trust all that make me
The vivacious heroine I currently-be.
Yet, now I am fallen on bend-of-knee

With mounting weariness, my nerves grow thin.
Windows wide opened reveals stark fear within.
Take charge "my" icy stare frozen sickles brightly glare.
Of this moment of graved aware
Affixed to root a solid mass vital seconds now to pass.
Still no twitch or flick of "foot", all thoughts to flee, all thoughts last.

With outstretched hands grant me my honor.
Of restoring please do not ignore.
Return to me my pride and glory.
On this notion, I do implore.
Do not snatch the life within me.
Release my breathing so it flows free.
Of my name, you do not see.
On the list given unto thee.

Go thy way yonder time to come.
Here now living I’m not done.

Premium Member Will-o’-the-Wisp

The furtive idea, flares ghost-ignited,
in a fevered yellow-blue glimmer,
on the edge of sight,
just out of reach,
beckoning you towards it.
Pirouetting, bobbling and whirling,
above the sodden, choking, black mire
of mundane, numbed and stale thoughts.

You draw near,
It slips away.
Crawl closer.
It slings away.
Try to snatch a side-ways glance—
It dissolves,
like a phantom mirage.
But this will-o'-the-wisp—
this alluring fiery gas spirit
is undeniably real.

It’s not an illusion,
but a seductive snare,
a promise left dangling, festering, unmet,
until cornered, captured,
shattered and scorched,
torn, beyond recognition
by the ruthless pursuit,
in the reek of the marsh-fume ooze,
before dusk, devours the day.

Reverence the Lord For He Cares For Us

Reverence the Lord for He Cares for Us: By Dana Redricks

We should reverence the Lord. He has the power of life and death. This passage Paul tells us, God loves us, and no one can take that love, or snatch us out of God's Hand. He loves us so much He knows every detail about each one of us. Just as God cares for the birds of the air, and everything He created, God values us above all things." “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will point out to you whom you should fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into hell; yes, I say to you, [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him! Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? Yet not one of them has [ever] been forgotten in the presence of God. Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are far more valuable than many sparrows." (Luke 12:4-7).“The power of your enemies is a limited power (Luke 12:4): I say unto you, my friends” (Christ’s disciples are his friends, he calls them friends, and gives them this friendly advice), “be not afraid, do not disquiet yourselves with tormenting fears of the power and rage of men.” Note, Those whom Christ owns for his friends need not be afraid of any enemies. “Be not afraid, no, not of them that kill the body, let it not be in the power of scoffers, not even of murderers, to drive you off from your work, for you that have learned to triumph over death may say, even of them, Let them do their worst, after that there is no more that they can do; the immortal soul lives, and is happy, and enjoys itself and its God, and sets them all at defiance.” Those can do Christ’s disciples no real harm, and therefore ought not to be dreaded, who can but kill the body; for they only send that to its rest, and the soul to its joy, the sooner." Matthew Henry Commentary

Squeeze Me

She opened up my back
& stuffed me with things like
Affection and reassurance.
The value of things often taken
For granted.
Things I am reminded of every time
She hugs me & squeezes me tight.
She opened up my back and gave me
Things I cannot forget.
The fights, the small disagreements
That made her feel alone.
All of the things she told me while
We were alone, how she felt
How tight she’d hold me before
Falling fast asleep without notice.
Her secret hiding place at the foot of
The bed,
Revealing a side of me I didn’t know
Existed.
With every snatch of Velcro
My heart grew.
Weighted full of words I couldn’t
Begin to express.
Every time she walked in the room
I lit up & smiled,
Ears standing straight up.
If she squeezed hard enough
All of that weight shifted
& all the words I couldn’t say
Sums themselves up,
I love you

Seduced

Rage! Rage! This angst, oozing from yawning deep,
Render to numbness, silent cornered weep,
Iniquitous decrees, when lulled to sleep,
Seduced by dybbuks, only vice to reap,
At impasse is reason in chaotic sneap,
Battle! Battle! Wrought courage to muster,
Nerves, sinews and pulse to not surrender,
Unto Death's embrace, believe, relive valour,
Cease the recreants who plunder honour,
Justitia unfold, raise sword, discard scales,
They excorcise a conjuring of wrongs -
Your wimp giants with their death-laden stales,
Who snatch, stuff, snuff, the hapless teeming throngs.

Bitter! Bitter! This death that lives in me,
Caged in dreaded mirrors, life dies in me,
‘Creep' - deep in my grey with seductive glee,
That heaven-flash, garden-lie, cursed harmony,
Sexed this soul, fervent red and sensory,
That ransom rush of crimson redemption,
Flesh sunk spirits misrender the Passion,
To quell the knell of that culmination,
Scrolls, religiosity and rendition,
For power, for heat, in false absolution,
And this death-row of bliss to deathless role,
Into eternal licking tongues since old,
All and I heedless to that Sword and scold,
Then brazen doors to pleas of curse served soul.

STRANGER HOLDS UMBRELLA

Rhythmic ripples of an h2o body,
  smooth saunter of disciplined legs,
shadow in the dark, headless apparition.
umbrella held steady, with a dustless glove.

Pounding heart of fear or curiosity.
  clothing causes eyeball reaction, dizziness.
cerulean like the sky, then fireball orange
      tartan plaid, then snowball white.

Wanting a rainstorm to pour a deluge,
  to soak, this phantom stranger,
make him or her turn toward the lamppost
or the moonlight. Wanting for this clown to crash.

For such are our jealousies, our bullying, the threat
to our sensibilities. We want to take down what we
don’t understand. Snatch the cloud-umbrella, shine
a bright flashlight into his or her unwholesome eyes.

Perhaps we’d find ourselves staring back, saying,
“It’s your turn now. Take the umbrella, it’s yours.”
and would we forget, walking like a rhythmic hymn,
walking away from ourselves, with perfect cadence,

until the next midlife stranger, tapped on a cherry-red suit,
wanting to revisit the past, becoming the future. The
suit turns all black, likewise the face and umbrella.
lightning sees only a shadow, invisible, cloaked in death.

Premium Member All You Have To Do Is Fly

"This is no place for you!"
She woke from a sound sleep.
The message was from her sister.
It had made its way into Pink Faerie's dream.

She looked around.
Bluebird was grinning at her from the other side of the bird cage.
"We can leave," she told him. "All you have to do is fly."
Bluebird knew that this sounded logical, but he was afraid.

"What is stopping you?" the pink bird asked her.
He wanted to eat her, to consume her, to hum with her set of pipes.
He shook his beak and turned away to snatch up his red cushion.
The interloper had her dirty bare feet on it a few hours ago!

Bluebird's mother had advised him never to fly.
"You are a klutz," she had told him. "You better try to get worms
That are dropped by flying birds who have too many."
So this is what he did. The Pink Bird left after a bunch of jabbering.

Blue bird was thrilled to have his home back.
Completely alone, wanting to be out there, but he dared not.
His mother's words kept coming back.
Weirdly enough, so did the pink bird's words. Who would win?

Snatch Or Scratch

Luck! What does it mean
Only those could know it who are keen
And what I think is,
Like an ice-cream coupon may it be seen.

                 Irrespective of deservance
                   Millions of acceptance
                   Everyone is exception
                 Everywhere is deception.

And thus, all of them complaint
But only few or none reframe
Of what they deserve
And what they should gain.

And me?

                        I need to fly
                     But there’s no sky
                      I wanted to catch
                  But resulted to snatch
                   Strange this world is
That a luck is to be scratched!!!

That Day I Met Death

I am glad I went to hell
Glad to have met death
Looked at his face, hugged him
Fell to my knees, kissed his feet
Asked If I could stay and live with him
                                                          Not today
he whispered
Not today you are just a visitor
But death look
Look
I have been to hell before
So many times if I give it a thought
So much in fact
That every time things are fine
I think that things are great
I just want to stay
What do you say
Death kissed me on my cheek
Licked my face
His breath. Smelled like ashes and death
His breath was romantic in that way
                                                          Not yet my friend
                                                          You need to see heaven
He said
So that I can finally snatch it from you
                                                           I am not really content
                                                           To see you here gladly.
Here I am
At night glad I went to hell
Because now I am certain
I am certain to see heaven
