Pieces of Mahatma

we come in peace
we are rent to pieces
pieces of beads we offer
pieces of soul we barter
barter is fine with us
barter your beads for our gold
gold is our guide
gold is your god
god we bring to you
god was always there
there is a distant king
there is our king
kings are not for you
you lie and you cheat
you must serve our lord
lord be praised
lord will save you pagans
pagans converted
pagans are our burden
burden to whip
burden and dogs
dogs and Indians not allowed
dogs and pigs
pig's fat in cartridges
pigs are eaten as pork
pork is anathema
pork grease smoothens bullets
bullets will be fired now
bullets fired in revolt
revolt for freedom
revolt against company
company go home
company of east india
india wants freedom
india our crown jewel
jewel you stole
jewel of the east
east rose the sun
east was the strife
strife till 1947
strife suppressed
suppressed no longer now
suppressed struggled for freedom
freedom under gandhi
gandhi and ahimsa
gandhi the mahatma
mahatma and freedom
mahatma and india
india
freedom

Premium Member Not a Day Goes Past

not a day goes past

without me being grateful
for your love kindness compassion
and willingness to share
your life with mine

you have saved me from myself
many times and I happen to know
that it has been the same when
the metaphorical shoe
was on the other side

my sturdy walking-boot
is a torn sandal at this moment in time
no socks and blisters on my feet and soul
strings of depression attached
when my feet make sad imprints
in my heart and on my mind

walking a beach of sadness
longing for joy I remember
that the tide washes away indentations
and smoothens the scape
for a new path
until barefoot
is just good enough again

Premium Member Rotate Consciousness Polarity

Rotation of consciousness, like grease in axis,
Smoothens the meditation process in praxis;
Yoga Nidra, like the sleep, relaxes each part,
Meditation, like music, turns an art of heart...!

Isn't hydrogen and oxygen form water?
Nitrogen with hydrogen Ammonia polar;
Ethanol or Lithium or sulphur oxide,
Each by polar properties delightfully dyed...!

Nature gives unconditionally like mother,
Streams, hills and vales could be replaced by no other;
When soul says to fall into their flow if mind spurns,
In us polarity of grabbing highly burns...!

Lust, often, like CO2, extinguishes flame of love,
If both mingle love-life toward delight does shove;
Surrender to the truth brings divine grace of peace,
Lies, conflicts and dominations leave none at ease...!

Splits should give way to unity and lies to truth,
Anger, annoyance and fight should turn gum-less tooth;
Love and liking for virtues, should like palms-trees, thrive,
Compassion, like ember in furnace, be alive...!

Premium Member A Woman

As I beheld a flower of rare beauty
In the silence choked heart of wilderness
The facsimile of a pretty woman came alive
From the coagulated heap of images

A woman…….!

Isn’t she God’s supreme handiwork?
An animated form of chiseled art
A joy to behold
A figure of curvaceous ups and downs
God’s beautiful calligraphy

Her skin glowing as satin
Hands and fingers of creamy softness
Eyes reflecting love and gentleness
Voice, musical and sweet
Moving with measured cadence
Walking with fluid ease
And one who smoothens the rough edges of life

A loving daughter to her parents
An adorable mate to her man
A forgiving mother to all
The fountain spring of new life
The lovely mother to her children!
A marvel of creation,
A miracle worthy of adulation!
In every drop of adversity,
Glistening like a diamond.

But Alas! A treasure rarely valued.

She is often branded by many
As frail n’ fickle, infirm n’ impish
But how empty is a man’s life
Who hasn’t known a woman,
As a mother, sister or daughter
A lover, a companion or wife!

O My Bubu Princess

You are the royal bubbles
In our eyes as your dimples
melt our plight hope we both find
In our minds

Princess
you are the essence
of our love
As our fate dissolves

In your very smiles
Is instilled precious chimes
A bouquet of sweet lullaby
only we can scribe

rare rhymes
from fable shines
are your delight
at night.

your sake
I shake
O baby my princess
of essences

when my succulent flesh of milkiness
flows into your milky teeth of goodness
My hand smoothens your cheek
On which vanilla colour fix

Golden laughter
sweetie you cluster
baby you are the heavenly soulmate
the Lord created till date

to be an heritage
to our earthly lineage.
Your pinky sapphire
shoes catches the desire

Of all who feels
your heels
O my bubu princess
Almighty God sent his angels in excess

colorfully paint you favour
to all your endeavor
our earthy royal measure
can scent your pleasure

You warm
In my arms
your eyes glow
winkles glow

I feel your calm
in my palms.
I see me
you feel me

Friendship: Just Like a Palm Tree

Friendship: Just Like a Palm Tree

By Izunna Okafor

From the crusts of lonely loams
It gently roots inner and outer
And softly pullulates harder and taller
To register its purpose to mankind.

Like the trunk, the bond glues harder
To the closely open hearts of soil
Who signed for mutual reciprocation.

Its oil heals internal and external wounds
Smoothens the rough path in the journey of life
And generally satisfies the ravenous and thirsty mind
Amidst love, sweetness and uncommon affableness.

It is a shelter
To those who faithfully embrace it
It is a protection
From both the seen and the unseen blitzes.

Though it might be swayed or troubled at times
The frond fans away fears, worries and anxieties
And breezes up pleasure and comfort
Drawing from the wind and coolness of the heavens above.

From its base to the apex
Valuable is every tranche thereof
Beholding its mutual and universal foredeal
Both in the long and the short runs.

Just like a palmtree
Friendship is fecund, impactful, virtuous and gainful
Though bad may fitfully come therefrom
That, the good utterly outweighs.

Premium Member You are the silence that envelops me in the bosom of the night

You are the silence that envelops me in the bosom of the night,
When words retreat into their timid shadow,
The sacred interval between the tolling of bells,
Announcing the zenith of our misunderstood dreams.
You are the coolness of murmuring springs in the horizon,
A tranquility that drips pearls of dew at dawn,
The dawn which begets hope and knows no sunset,
An eternity that embraces all that is my dream and desire.
Leisurely, I lean towards the refuge of your name,
As the universe gathers itself in an embrace,
Dreaming the depths of a thousand silent tides,
That would submerge all the emptiness we've gathered.
Who are you, whose pallor weeps for me in the distance,
In a secret sacrifice for our lost days,
Without bending a knee, yet our pride is you,
Who are you, the light that burns endlessly?
I do not know you, yet you discern me like no other,
I, your twilight, the conscience that finds solace,
You rejuvenate me with your breath, between words like stars,
Renewing the peace between me and my summoner.
Who are you, the unextinguished vigil of my wandering being,
Guardian of my passages, from root to crown?
You are the unspoken wish, forgotten in a corner of the soul,
The invisible love that smoothens my tracks in the dust.
You are everything that I am and all that I am not in this world,
An emblem of what cannot be spoken with any tongue,
The unfailing spring that gathers my questions at crossroads,
And the answer that comes softly, in the glow of eternal mornings.

Premium Member A Bird In My Garden

I spotted a robin among many birds in my garden mead
Tilting its head this side and that, looking for some feed
It wasn't to satisfy its hunger but for its young ones to be fed
It had lovely feathers all over in colors of black and red

I have found its nest on a tall tree by my house’s side
It frequents my garden to catch the ladybirds in hide
Having a lively home with fledglings not yet ready for flight,
Flying to them with worms tucked in its beak is a usual sight

From branch to branch it flits, singing songs merry
With its sharp beak, pecking at clusters of red cherry
On rainy days in inclement weather, once when it is wet,
Smoothens its ruffled feathers staying under leaves, so quiet

Sitting close to its nest, every day it sweetly sings
I wonder if it is to announce the arrival of spring
Or is it singing lullabies to put its babies to sleep
Whatever it be, its song resonates in valleys deep

In my ears as the lovely strains of its melody fall to rest
All my vexations go to roost, making me feel so blest.
As I keep listening, my gloomy self with fresh comfort fills
And my sentient heart, with overwhelming joy thrills

Eternal Love

Eternal Love
                    --------------------

          Pure love is like water
          That keeps life alive
Not to get it rusted ever
          To go ahead and strive.

          Deep love is like ocean
          That having no end
Stays in the heart of men
          Forever echoeing till the end.

Life is hard but love is like velvet
That smoothens the way of life
To make it flourished and celebrate
The succes of the journey to strive.

Love not being old is evergreen That has no decay to be seen
In the journey of life till the ending
And its eternal to exist in living beings

The Nestle

A branch, long and slender,
With thin thorny tips, free and tender.
A drop like bag of grass weave sag,
Tied beneath the shreds with a tight tag.

Alone in nestle, quietly sunk,
A fine cool breeze rolls past the bank.
It smoothens and washes each silent piece,
As the nest swings...bringing calm and peace.

A weeping stream of crystal below,
Claims the noise in my mind with its flow.
A rare soft heart in fragile grace,
In that small home, I’ve found my place.

My finer parts in a thin siesta,
While the noon sun glows in golden vista.
A dream unfolds, with crowned truths wide,
Spreading in ripples where calm pools hide.
