She escorted me to my seat
I sat and smiled
it was an honor
a great honor
to dine
dance and just be with her
the evening ended
while the sun was still shing
I walked her apartment in my suspeners and vest
while she changed
so we could catch a movie
to dance off some more of that delicate meal
it was Tuesday and I had to be at work
by 11:30 the next day
so I paced myself.
I sat by the window
and I must have fallen asleep
between
4;30 and 4;45
I woke to have her on my lap
in that
Purple thang
that just
made her look
like someone
from the Planet Lust.
that night was the first night
of my life
everything before
had been
foolish, and unworthy of
everything
that took place from then on
I was in love and I knew it
she was in love
and showed it
we had
stumbled into Eden
and knew we had to
ask god to forgive us
I married her weeks later
with no regret
My father told me I was foolish
and dumb
to let a stranger

Often times she'd need to feel specail.
She'd dress up in a make up and a white gown
and tip toe
around falling to the gentlemens lap
saying foolish things to get him
to pitty her.

and she'd use these oppurtunities to belittle our togetherness.

And to hear him fuse with her was often forbiddened as
she was looking for a man. Someone
to be her thang and sounding like
lovers on stage jived with what her evenings
should have been. We worked with her. Cursinbg at the same time. When the opp came to shine we looked her for guidance and to be a shining star. If only the words could seep into where she'd understand them.
