Poetry on trial?

I’m going to indict poetry, for infecting my soul
Does it serve any purpose, or has it lost control
This may seem quiet strange, perhaps unorthodox
Peruse this if you will, whilst it’s head layeth on the block

No need for a foundation, build it in the clouds
But it does require structure, interwoven by shrouds
Mocks me with Humpty Dumpty, as my life falls to bits
Sends me down a path, of bifurcation and twists.

Yes poetry is stealthy, it attacks from every side
Attempting to outflank you, then pounces in surprise
Soon levity returns, it wants to chill you out
Where did this come from, shaketh your head in doubt.

Bow before it in deference, or leap into the sky
Cut to pieces on razor wire, see the birds that flyeth by
Pit Romeo and Lothario, in a competition of charms
Find a new born baby, dead in its mother’s arms.

Send shivers down ones spine, Hairs stand on your neck
Deal out a winning hand, then rearrange the deck
Be a photon of light, amongst trillions on our sun,
Reminisce ole times, when life beheld such fun.

Be scarred by it’s violence, Drawn into the mystique,
Blown away by the punchline, The havoc it can wreak
Drown in melancholy, or bathe in its delight
Overcome tragic heartbreak, awestruck by it’s might.

Empathize with the poor, in their cornucopia of dirt,
Curse the wealthy no better, in their hubris of self-worth,
Surrounded by loved ones, on your terminal breath,
Then Cryo-frozen in a machine, trying to forgo death.

So yes I’ve tried poetry, it was given a fair trial
Now to pass sentence, and do so, with some style
I condemn it to life, with no chance of parole
Simultaneously I grant pardon, for it’s me who lost control.

Darkness Brings No Peace

DARKNESS BRINGS NO PEACE

Here I lie, a stream of tears descending like a waterfall.
A recollection of my youth.
Impending bellows. A mother hunting down the next victim to be tortured.
Stamping feet crushing each heart beat.
Creaking stairs recording each journey that have been taken,
slowly as not to awaken the sober home.
Shutters echo with the wind; a young child’s flesh hit, scarred deep within.
Her blood frozen with affliction.
Cries, screams through the abyss of an aged window.
The dancing robe draped on the door, sways in a rhythmic waltz.
A giant, a man, my father.
Walking with massive strides, anxious to emerge.
To plunge on a child’s innocence and ignorance of not knowing.
(DARKNESS BRINGS NO PEACE)
The crisp blankets beneath me.
Undisturbed, waiting. When will he plunder me of my untainted body?

Each bleak move I make, sends chills of anxiety through my flesh.
(DARKNESS BRINGS NO PEACE)
Will I return, return to a life as I have never known life before.?
Here in the darkness, pain splitting my heart,
like an earthquake destroying each cell of life.
Am I like a piece of meat, waiting to be chosen by the next
violent hand, to molest my soul?
To chop away at every molecule and destroy my shape?

I am a woman, a mother, a lover to my love.
I am human and I am a survivor
I am like a piece of play-dough, molded to make
one self-content to fulfill their fantasies.
I can be put back to my original shape.

I am a survivor and I will win.
Or have I already?

Where Your Face Don'T Mean a Thing

When it's quiet in the morning, I know that you are gone
Marching from your family to the place you don't belong
You soldier on to countries where your face don't mean a thing
Valued as disruption with the destructions you bring
I wish these unknown countries saw the man you truly are
The body that I ache to hold comes home bruised and scarred
They see you as an enemy, to me you are a hero
They don't see the tears I cry over your untouched pillow
But no one seems to listen, no one seems to care
No one seems to notice that these letters end up nowhere
And often I have wondered if this worrying is worth it
Should I put my life on hold while you complete your service?
The haunting thought of losing you, my skin begins to crawl
But fear's replaced with gratitude I'm part of you at all
It's me you're coming home to, it's me you're fighting for
Thinking of the preciousness reminds me who you are
And as the echo of your boots go marching out the door
I'll be fighting for you too, my own personal war

The Wormwood Portfolio

"The Wormwood Portfolio"

Reams of stories
riddled with worms
wood for burning
all the children
cover their eyes
tears smoked
into the lungs
gender fluid
propheticising
bitter water
electric brains
chipped like
fine-boned China
downloading
overloads
dumps are
damp
the fuse
sizzles and
stops

green as absinthe
gauche ghosts
gone all grey skinned

scales of merit
charred unweighted
vacant and vacating
like dandelions
scattering over
the barren wombs
of the childless landscape
dreaming of biblical babies
suckling the wanton breasts
of Desdemona’s structural points,
a sharp essay, feeding insouciance
mistaken identities and confusion
side-blinded by the light
of the tempestuous kill shot
burnt and scarred
beeseeching open handed
faces turning like time dials
towards two suns
gold gone all black holed
dead verdant plants
hot feet blistering
make no more demands
skipping, games of patter-cake
powdered ochre yellow
here's the church and here's the steeple
open your hands where are the people
like viruses, germinating
no more prayers to enchant
daughters of eve
sons of man
when the Word finally speaks
there is hearing damage

Reams of stories
riddled with worms
wood for burning
all the children
cover their eyes

              COLLABORATION WITH SABRINA DEI ARCI

In the depths of her web,
a heart beats cold and nil.
           Lust and danger intertwined,
in a deadly gash and spill.
Caught in her Venus trap, entangled sap,
unable to flee her anatomy,
A widowmaker's allure, a haunting anomaly.

(First chorus)
Widowmaker-Black -- Widowmaker heart -.
Heart beats so cold, and traps, dethroned takers -
Widowmaker-pasts', skeletal bones,
get lodged in Her lap as you're threaded along.

Down at the rainbows end
How can you be so happy alone,
You go into sudden death
Set on your Dungeoness Game of Thrones
Parade round your web-bedded heart-
Guest book, ledger is signed in blood
Queen to his rookie rook,
taken as if he were merely a pawn.

(First chorus)
Widowmaker-Black -- Widowmaker heart -.
Heart beats so cold, and traps, deathroe time-makers -.
Widowmaker-maps', echoing moans,
get lodged in her lap as you fall forth headlong.

(Second chorus)
The hourglass sands are gone -
Like a window to his soul -
Let off the strange trip you're on -
Spellbound bound by Faith No More.

(3rd Chorus Mix)
Down at the rainbows end -
how can you be so happy alone -
Haven't you ever found someone -
someone you want to call your very own-

With each broken heart, she builds her walls higher,
a wounded soul, consumed by her own fires.
But you will taste your own burn replacing desire -
Sow your own venom -
Scarred by love's betrothed in it's mire,
she fears to let anyone enter in, Her inner sanction,
a defense mechanism instead of tears that shed
beneath her skin.

(First chorus)
Widowmaker-Black -- Widowmaker heart -.
Heart beats so cold, back for the attack +
Widowmaker-laughs', at marital bones,
they're lodged in your trap as you thread them along.

(Second chorus)
The hourglass sands are gone
Like a window to his soul -
Maybe she'll keep this single one -
In her dimension, of faith of love to restore.

Shadow-lover -Laughs -- Pleased on her Medjool...

The Waves of Death

The waves of death...

"What a wonderful world we live in",
Are the words that are frequently said.
But an earthquake in Asia some years ago,
Left thousands of people dead.

An earthquake borne from far within,
This planets deep blue sea.
Islands and countries forever scarred,
By a raging tsunami.

To witness such acts of nature,
Hearing screams and deathly squeals.
The waters relentless advancing force,
Gripping at peoples heels.
Trains tossed aside like childrens toys,
While bodies flow on by.
Thousands trapped beneath the waves,
How could so many die?

As waters receded, only then did we see,
What destruction was lain in our path.
Bodies and buildings entombed in mud,
A product of natures wrath.

Bodies strewn across the plains,
Once blessed by Gods' own hand.
Orphans and widows left in its wake,
Will we ever understand?

Such a disaster never seen before,
Brought on by a killer tide.
May we never see its like again,
And may God always be at your side...

Premium Member The Dance of Responsibility

In this delicate dance of existence,
We weave a web, a wondrous persistence.
Connected, we cradle the cries of the Earth,
Each heartbeat a hymn, each moment a birth.

We weave a web, a wondrous persistence,
Nature's nurturing, a guiding hand.
Each heartbeat a hymn, each moment a birth,
Yet we've wandered, we've scarred the land.

Nature's nurturing, a guiding hand,
Sustainability sings in the silence of trees.
Yet we've wandered, we've scarred the land,
Pollution and plastic, are a perilous unease.

Sustainability sings in the silence of trees,
We're stewards of the soil, guardians of grace.
Pollution and plastic, a perilous unease,
It's time for a turnaround, to heal this place.

We're stewards of the soil, guardians of grace,
Every choice we make, every action we take,
It's time for a turnaround, to heal this place,
Ripples through realms, for our future's sake.

Every choice we make, every action we take,
Let's foster a friendship with fauna and flora.
Ripples through realms, for our future's sake,
A pledge to protect, to restore, to explore.

Let's foster a friendship with fauna and flora,
Together we tread on this fragile ground.
A pledge to protect, to restore, to explore,
In unity's embrace, let our voices resound.

Together we tread on this fragile ground,
Connected, we cradle the cries of the Earth.
In unity's embrace, let our voices resound,
In this delicate dance of existence.

Ravaged by Ravenous Rapture

"Ravaged by Ravenous Rapture"

Beneath the cold, unblinking gaze of Luna's silver light,
A lovers' tryst unfolds in shadows of the night..."
What will the nights gaze bestow us tonight as eyes wide open,
"What mysteries lie veiled in darkness profound?
What whispered secrets on zephyrs' breath carried?
Two hearts aflame with passions newly crowned,
Bound by fate's cruel whims, by Cupid's arrow scarred."
Shall this fate not be hearts tore and lay wake with pain
A love forged in the fires of forbidden fruit,
Must reap the bitter harvest of its sin.
Yet still, like moths to flame, we pursue our suit,
Drawn inexplicably to that dangerous brink again."
Thus my eyes lie to my heart
"A siren call echoes from realms unseen,
Beckoning to shores where dreams take wing.
Yet duty-bound to paths already gleaned,
He wars within, as angels wage war with sting."
But lo! A revelation pierces the shroud!
Fantasy and Fate are one, entwined eternally!
Each path chosen leads to the same avowed
Destination: Love, absolute, decree'd by destiny!"

People And Their Opinions

The tongues of men are quick to rise,
With words like arrows loosed at night;
Yet none will pause to scan the skies,
To seek the stars that lend them light.

They weave their judgments, thread by thread,
A tapestry of fleeting thought,
But truths unspoken lie half-dead,
While lies take wings and fly unsought.

How cruel the careless hand can be,
To carve its mark where none can heal;
Each whispered tale, a poisoned sea,
Each glance, a blade that cuts with zeal.

Oh, would they seek the tempered flame,
Where facts stand tall, unbent, refined,
Instead of playing this cruel game
Of shadows cast by shallow minds.

The pain they sow, they may not reap,
But hearts are scarred, and wounds run deep.

To Those We Left Behind

Happy we pals of battalions from villages born of love
And sweet tender mercies, unlike here entrenched
With the foe. Grey mists on the horizon, silhouetted hove
Of sallow composition; subdued and drenched.

Between us, in 'no man's land' a barren waste
Of limbs stacked high, orchestrating the way
Of death, foreshadowing yet even still the taste
To come, and soon; at the break of day.

Our friends, fathers, uncles and brothers
In arms; cleaving the ground of crimson red
Left on the battle scarred plains, with their mother's
Voices ringing out, as bells that toll the dead.

Then slowly faint whispers are heard amidst the grave
Of brown and grey. "Is that you John!Bill! Fred?"
"Is that you Hans!Jurgen!Emil!"? You the brave
Who fell, still living amongst the dead.

The shroud of death that covers distempered cries
Now lifting as both find their heroes of cause.
And naked transgression remains; signature of lies
And deceit; like whores showing no remorse.
