Premium Member LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SOVEREIGN HEAD

November 9 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on 1Corinthians 11-12

Key Verse – 1Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SOVEREIGN HEAD

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I follow Your ordinance
Thank You for covering me with Your assistance-dominance
Never dishonouring my prayer-anchored assurance
Yet, transforming me toward Your glorious appearance.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I come to Your direction
Thank You for teaching me with Your instruction
Never insulting my sincerity that admits Your guiding unction
Yet, declaring to me Your truth’s revelation.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I hear Your voice
Thank You for calling me, enabling me to rejoice
Never belittling my aspiration to show divine poise
Yet, helping me to have right choice against foolish noise.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I yield to Your grace
Thank You for strengthening me along life’s race
Never starving my soul seeking for Your contentment ways
Yet, satisfying me around Your compassion’s embrace.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I delight in Your majesty
Thank You for enlightening me with Your immutability
Never dampening my spirituality to wallow in vain futility
Yet, upholding me by Your wisdom’s authority.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I trust Your miracles
Thank You for working in me toward faith-acts pinnacles
Never despising my ministry participation midst carnal tickles
Yet, sanctifying me with Your forgiveness-buckles.

Lord God, You are my Sovereign Head and I praise Your goodness
Thank You for tempering me by Your bestowed kindness
Never frustrating my determination to serve with meekness
Yet, exemplifying to me holy self-denial’s excellent greatness.

The Solitude of Africa

The Solitude in Africa toil and helped to unfold
Stories, philosophies, and lessons to be told.
Judgmental glances seeing Africa from outdoors,
Taken in by tales of the villagers living indoors.

The epoch of age pores on in utter fascination,
History in a trance did not cause by liberation.
Subtle beings on the horizon enriched in mind,
Striving to be a vessel that any mariner can find.

In the solitude of Africa, they drift along unanchored
among the cargo, the truth is the mental past stored.
Hope, steer alone, ambition try to stay on course,
Give guidance of a familiar path for decades choose.

The journey on life marks the increasing latitudes,
Constant improvement in skills and good attitudes.
Politics and riches the world has a little concern,
Africa, while satisfying, has a deep thirst to learn.

Democracy will survive, expect it to cause many fights,
The price is paid with our lives to enjoy liberty and rights.
Hungry appetite, this knowledge for success can outlast,
All the growls of frolic and thrills the hour has passed.

My Brother's Pain

I heard it was raining
I saw him sighing
It was my brother, breaking
'Oh', how he was aching
I could not bare him shaking
He made my soul broken
His pain had my brain exploding
It felt as though he was offloading
Everything he said, needed decoding
How I wish he would stop downloading
These words needed encoding.

My brother's pain was upsetting
His tears looked as though he was sweating
I couldn't get what he was saying,
All he did was crying
It look as though he was dying
Nothing I said,was satisfying
I even tried testifying
His face looked horrifying
Jesus he needs purifying.

A day like any other
Brighter than the norm, if anything
Enjoying it thoroughly, warm sun on my face
Left the car home for just that reason, walking

My life - a bit mundane by some standards, perhaps
But satisfying and comfortable, with interludes of joy ... pleasure
I suppose, in retrospect, that I had taken it for granted
Depending on the expected and routine to frame daily habit

Yes, I must admit that ... now
I had taken it ALL horribly for granted
Here in the "land of the free and the home of brave"
The United States - last bastion of dreams unrealized

For no sooner had I stepped onto the crosswalk at Mass Ave, when it ended
My average life, I mean ... more accurately, my freedom
Gone in an instant, when the world went to hell
My beloved country - the most grand and democratic in man's history

Had taken a dive into the yawning abyss, and liberty with it, overnight
A military coup, sparked initially by the crisis at the border
Had taken place in the wee hours, and sans any sort of warning ...
To anyone, and all those who were of professional, medical or IT ilk

Were summarily rounded up for "control processing and reintegration"
In a matter of moments I found myself in an armored vehicle
Handcuffs and ankle straps, along with about thirty others
All of us in stunned silence, except for the few tears and sobs, uncontrolled

Free one moment, captive the next, and life changed forever
Where we were headed, I knew not
But I'd soon find out ...
I could see through a slit in the rear door ...

And as we crossed the Mass Ave Bridge into Cambridge
A reflection off the River Charles lit the inside of the military transport
What would turn out to be the very last rays of sunlight ...
     That I would ever see.

a little balm and a little honey

in every pack of pistachios there are
one or two shells which are resistant to
the fingernail the addictive leverage
the satisfying splitting apart

you put them aside and save them for later
meanwhile pick, click, chew and finally
return to the awkward ones
refusing to yield their treasure

curse them go ahead curse them you won't
be defeated, you will solve their riddle
you will break their will
maybe they can be persuaded
by tiny hammer or rolling pin

we don't have a rolling pin
but don't we have a nutcracker somewhere
there was one at christmas, and
something else happens more wine
a movie some family business and the
two nuts stay on the edge of the table

waiting to be splintered or just tossed in
the trash in the cold morning light
