I'd like to start a middle child club for all those kids who got stuck with the rub.
For those who received the lesser end of the stick, when the flames of love were burning, they were left with a short wick. I'd like to shout out to that middle child who found love thru others, that they should feel proud. For going beyond their birth families allowed them to experience how loves supposed to be. I'd like to acknowledge that middle child who wouldn't settle for disparities, allow their emotions to become beguiled. They didn't wallow in hurt feelings nor become a sad sack, for they learned how to love others beyond their abilities to love back.

inspection/ emission finally possible
but...hopes dashed to smithereens
August thirty first
two thousand nineteen shortly past,
no matter 2009 Hyundai Sonata at long last
scheduled with ample funds
checking account blitzed
now back home
(Highland Manor apartments)
absolute zero money left cents lessly gassed
exhale incomplete sigh of relief
cuz necessity to dodge fast
escaping deafening police
ear splitting siren blast.
Congenial customer service
representatives at CJ's tire,
and automotive dutifully require
loose fender securely attached,
but hood latch replacement more dire,
thus postponing mechanic
to affix inspection sticker,
no matter old one did expire
once again driving on borrowed time,
cuz both driver and passenger front tire
plus rear right TPMS metal sensor
re: passenger rear tire
malfunction functionality
hoop fully explains this wire.
Your truly uber verging wreck,
no complaints regarding trained tech
very competent mechanic
even for peripatetic pluperfect prospect
reference I recommend unsolicited
advertisement plus aye inject
relieving anticipatory anxiety
oh yes, said vehicle
in good hands absolutely correct,
no matter sucker punch
to checking account
doth severely affect
mine psychological aspect.
More legal (zooming) tender
zaps lion's share of this thrifty spender
wannabe, which cruel tread full fate
unquestionably, ostensibly invariably...
every year without fail doth render
finding me in poor house
desperate to pray divine
rolling rocker alms lender
whether he.she major criminal offender,
nor no preference regarding gender.
Fat/slim chance
wishful fantasy will become true
escapist mindset bolsters
this hen pecked forlorn rue
stir standing glum within
long fostered, and winding queue,
this dirt poor dude intuitively knew
bubblegum, toothpicks and glue
holding psyche intact turned hue
man into sad sack... boo hoo
minus auto body work
undertaken by trained
heavy metal punk ken cutting crew.
My Uncle Carbuncle lived all alone,
In a very small house made all of stone.
No one called him or ever came by,
Just a hermit by choice, My Oh My!
My Mother's Brother and a real sad sack,
Had pus-filled bumps on his face and his back.
An affliction he had since he was a kid,
Which affected most everything that he did.
Never ate out, had groceries delivered;
And all who saw him just shaked and shivered.
Multiple doctors had never cured him,
Try as they might had never assured him.
Resigned to the fact that nobody cared,
Just hid in his house that nobody shared.
Until one day completely by chance,
Learned of a doctor living in France.
A miracle drug to cure all his ills,
So twice a day took these miracle pills.
Then his skin cleared up I'm happy to say,
My Uncle Carbuncle got married today.
I used to have a house guest
And he never helps me get
Things arranged, didn't clean
Up behind his mess
of hopelessness, depressions, variances and stifles
Live before up on a shelf
Didn't care about others nor anyone else
Didn't have a previous address
Life in shambles what a mess
Was homeless until I found him
Didn't' contribute but I forgave him
No positive things abut him but he's one of God's children
so I had to evict him
Cause all he did was noting positive
Everything was negative
He did nothing to contribute but
Bring him and me down so he thought
He had to go
Depression doesn't live here anymore
He had to go
Depression left and he didn't close the door
I am not sad now, I am glad wow
And the pains of sorrow are left outside
I'm a better person now that I've kicked him to the curb
Depression doesn't live here anymore
Hurt, loss non compassion is out the door
Depression doesn't live here anymore
Git your sad sack non glad rags git'em packed and go on out the door
Hurts, pains poverty skeleton remains none of that lives here anymore
Wrath, strive, confused life none of that lives here anymore
Depression, obsessions, confusion, rebellion none of that lives here anymore
I kicked them all to the curb and gave them a map to the door
I said get out, get out, get out, stay out in Jesus name none of them lives here anymore
No amount of monies, no honey or cute little baby bunnies
Can let me house you as guest here anymore
I kicked them all to the curb and gave them a map to the door
I said get out , get out get out, stay out in Jesus name
None of them live here anymore
Life in shambles what a mess
Was homeless until I found him
Didn't' contribute but I forgave him
No positive things abut him but he's one of God's children
so I had to evict him
Cause all he did was noting positive
Everything was negative
He did nothing to contribute but
Bring him and me down so he thought
He had to go
Depression doesn't live here anymore

Meet Otis; drug addict and alcoholic.
He walks the razor's edge of life daily.
A sad sack of a man bedeviled by stubborn demons.
Swimming against the tide of recovery; crying out for help.
Surviving one day at a time;
struggling with addictions threatening to submerge him in a quicksand,
wrestling with harrassing voices in his discombobulated head.
They keep swirling around him like a noisy, bothersome flies.
He's pulled into a rabbit hole of temptation
everywhere he goes. His gnawing urge...
to drink alcohol growing stronger and stronger at happy hours.
His addiction to cocaine and heroin is just as potent.
Each day, he tries his best
to stay sober, but can't do it alone.

When my day has been pretty tough,
And I have been dealing with lots of stuff,
I know I will be smiling upon my return.
I'll receive the best greeting anyone could earn.
His little whimper telling me he was all on his own.
I smile with gladness at the love I am shown.
Laden with heavy bags of shopping.
The one thing I have no hope of stopping,
His favorite toy, he happily brings to me.
Insisting I take it, as slobbery as it could be.
This simply always makes me smile.
Helping me bring the groceries in, takes a while.
When all 160 pound of him does decide,
The chair I am in is where he wishes to reside.
His weight on my lap tells me something is amiss.
I smile as he looks up and gives me a big kiss.
Just as I settle to relax, I smile hearing the clock chime.
He jumps up to get his harness, its walking time!
When I eat my dinner, he knows to keep his distance.
His constant surveillance shows definite persistence.
Looking at me as if he had never been fed.
I cant help but smile though it's a sight that I dread.
A wink of my eye and he is to me in a dash.
Gladly accepting all that I left and its gone in a flash.
Nothing compares with the love of a Bullmastiff friend.
He'll keep you smiling and be your protector til the end.
He can be soft and cuddly and is super, super strong.
His huge physique and cute black face, I smile all day long.
He takes a place in line with the grandkids to get a treat.
Keeps me smiling when he acts like a big kid, so sweet.
He pounds his great tail against the wall.
Breakfast time, I have to smile at his wake up call.
He follows me to the kitchen "now what will it be?"
There is some deboned chicken from last night's tea.
I am off to work, I see him droop like a sad sack.
I smile as I hug him and convince him I will be back.

When yesterday's hearts live alone.
It's hard to not just turn to stone.
How long can you live without love?
And depend on strength from up above.
You didn't know when you saw her smile.
That your hearts desire was in denial.
As years would change your mirrors reflection.
And you'd wake one day to pure rejection.
There's no one near to soothe the pain.
To dry your tears from all the rain.
The aftermath of calculations.
The futile formula of failed relations.
Something inside will not let go.
Something I think only hearts know.
An endless ache that defies all sense.
A life long lived upon that fence.
Maybe (someday) has come and gone
When hope is lost in the new dawn.
For opportunity has left.
A broken heart that's now bereft.
Is there a way to solve this crime?
When there's no reason to the rhyme.
And love is lost beyond belief.
And leaves you with this endless grief.
