Sitting on a wooden bench
Realizing I was the ink in someone's pen
I declared with full authority
I will not be narrative ever again
I took my wayward feet
And began to forge my own path
Away from woulda, coulda, shoulda
To tackle all I was left in my lack
Everytime I spoke forth desire
Voice carried on jealous waves
Silencing me with granted wishes
For others digging my graves
Many times I ventured to build
Gave my vision to those with provision
They could have given support
Instead they ran with mighty sword to create division
Finally someone noticed my gift
I could connect with deep love and insight
They labeled me as mentally unstable
As they skillfully tried to extinguish my light
I found living as a human, tedious
Not worth the sufferings required to relate
I became a hermit in my home
Acknowledging and accepting fear to guard against hate
Today, LOVE has arrived at my door
Inviting me to take His hand and step away
A new journey of adventure awaits
As we balance our essence in the joy of being, every day

HEART THAT OFFERS THE BEST TO GOD
Our heart offers the best to God by His grace
As He blesses us with His goodness-brace
And lengthens our days for holiness’ race
Along His salvation’s honour and praise.
Our heart offers the best to God by His wisdom
As He guides us with His Word-wisdom
And enlightens our understanding for His kingdom
Along His truth’s principles and doctrines against ignorance-boredom.
Our heart offers the best to God by His compassion
As He loves us with His favour-provision
And cares for our welfare’s condition of spiritual progression
Along His kindness’ attention and supervision.
Our heart offers the best to God by His mercy
As He delivers us with His gentleness-clemency
And attends to our plea by His presence-fervency
Along His fellowship’s warmth and communion’s persistency.
Our heart offers the best to God by His approval
As He upholds us with His exhortation-revival
And attends to our need beyond economic survival
Along His reply’s service-urgency and spiritual upheaval.
Our heart offers the best to God by His sovereignty
As He controls us with His leadership-authority
And directs our steps toward heavenly certainty
Along His kingdom’s fatherly deeds and Master-Creator-security.
Our heart offers the best to God by His settlement
As He checks us with His standard-commitment
And corrects our motive for holy achievement
Along His favour’s smile and divine pleasure in our service-engagement.

One suspects a matagouri temperament
Upon first glimpsing that weathered face.
Wrinkles extending like braided rivers
Life of tussles and toils, to demonstrate.
No stranger to heat or an icy shiver
Indeed he thrives on the wide-open space.
For living on the land he has chosen
Family provision his precious mandate.
Green land he’s seen, as it alters to brown
Faced the irony in dense drifts of white snow.
Worked in hot sun, until chilled from deep sweat
His path's always straight, head never down.
Famine next fortune, then dancing with debt
Passion persists, despite varying blows.
Quitting is failure akin to inept
No envy endures of those living in town.
Spells spent alone doesn’t mean solitude
For companions thrive for those that will see.
Colourful hebes, or when a kea flies by
Land always varies, indeed a joy to be viewed.
No clock to watch while there’s light in the sky
Family time not a whim of the breeze.
Other company not sought but never denied
For life on the land is fulfilment accrued.

Emotions may rule a protegé
Until they can be mastered for strategy
When the swayed can now sway
This way, that way in any way
While the ardent one in text and context
Is thrown off and knows not what's coming next
They refrain from emotions in courts of law
To rid any persuasion that could lead to flaw
But negotiations and bargains remain unbound
And therein all shenanigans can be found
Wisdom, wit, force among other cards in sleeves
Light may enter but it's hard-pressed that it leaves
Rain falls and all of God's creation must be nourished
But the sly and shrewd fashion the trades to have others famished
What curse is this that we sow much only to reap less
I take my offering to the Lord in tears and distress
That He may sharpen my mind to outwit the wolves
To always be ahead of them however fast their instinct evolves
And I shall apply to life and wealth the keys to the Kingdom
From whence all the seen and unseen come from
Amongst my kindred there be increased herds and a purse
May God bless us and let no man curse
Not to lessen His provision in kind
But to know that it's in Him that all things I could find.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY WAYS’ PONDERER
Lord God, You are my ways’ Ponderer,
always regarding me with Your discretion
Thank You for shielding me from pride’s consumption
To fill me with Your spiritual wealth’s provision
As well as peace of redemption against hell’s condemnation.
Lord God, You are my ways’ Ponderer,
always instructing me with Your voice
Thank You for guarding me from mischief’s choice
To let me overcome temptations of sluggard’s poise
As well as interferences of evil noise.
Lord God, You are my ways’ Ponderer,
always leading me with Your commandment
Thank You for sealing me by Your ransom’s settlement
To guide me toward faithful stewardship-fulfillment
As well as fruitful ministry commitment.
Lord God, You are my ways’ Ponderer,
always keeping me within Your law
Thank You for assuring me security from enemy’s paw
To insure me deliverance against impudence-claw
As well as bondage of deception flaw.

The New World vultures – buzzards and hawks,
Circle-soar as they look for prey, among stalks.
Chomping smaller bird out of their feeders, so keen.
Turkey buzzards, so ruthless and intensely mean.
Spindly pink flamingo, a water-bred bird,
Loving South Florida, though it may seem absurd.
Proud orange in pink feathers dresses carefully.
Caribbean’s delight, they roost near the sea.
Forest and Woodland buzzards and hawks avoid the Sunshine State.
Not tempted to go there for water birds, who cannot relate.
Missing this opportunity in their limited vision.
To partake on flamingo meat, a ready provision.

He powerfully corrects us of our skepticism, doubt and fright
While disciplining us toward our consecrated delight.
God attends unto our cry with His sovereignty
That prevails above our faith of arrogant tenacity…
He virtuously cleanses us against our impurity
While transforming us to serve Him with our utmost ability.
God attends unto our cry with His goodness
That increases our faith for stewardship bountifulness…
He gently upholds us by His righteousness
While directing us to declare His Gospel’s marvelousness.
God attends unto our cry with His answers from Scriptures
That teaches us not to be ignorant of foolish gestures…
He wisely enlightens us by His Word of heavenly features
While illumining us along biblical principles for ministry ventures.

HEART THAT ACCOMPLISHES VOWS UNTO THE LORD
Our heart accomplishes vows to the Lord along our Biblical training
As He accompanies us with His supreme reigning
Never leaving us; but driving us toward faith-gaining
Keeping us guarded from worldly dining.
Our heart accomplishes vows to the Lord along our sincere striving
As He helps us with His spiritual moving
Never forsaking us; but pulling us toward trust-thriving
Keeping us protected from vain cleaving.
Our heart accomplishes vows to the Lord along our quiet resting
As He refreshes us with His peaceful assisting
Never dropping us; but carrying us toward strength-hasting
Keeping us defended from carnal feasting.
Our heart accomplishes vows to the Lord along our mission-going
As He propels us with His gracious doing
Never refusing us; but bringing us toward goodness-bestowing
Keeping us guided from humanistic blowing.

Hear God’s shout across the skies,
Calling your name - no more surprise.
Come Forth! He says, with a rocking voice,
Foundations stir, they know His holy voice,
Let the miraculous realm arise,
A flood of wonder before your eyes.
A new unction-oil begins to pour,
From heaven’s gate to your troubled soul.
It will replace the sigh with song,
A shout of praise where hearts belong.
Speak His Name - Jesus, Jesus,
Healing flows, it never leaves us.
Don’t wait until the war is done,
Shout now, the victory’s won!
Lift your voice, let triumph ring,
Even as saints and angels sing.
Come to the Table, take your place,
There’s full provision, boundless grace.
For all we need, so rest in Him and go,
Peace is found in Him - we’re made to glow.
So keep on worshipping, don’t cease,
Till high places fall, and hearts find peace.
