Different Point of Views

Every day, people each have their own different point of views. These points are either
good, bad, or in-between. And for when he or she gets him/herself in a compromising
situation, that's so bad. It seems that when most people cannot agree on almost
everything, they can talk about it. When it comes to males and females really need to see
their point of views in life, they should just stick with them. There's a lot of things
these people really want to talk about: religions (Muslim, Christian, Catholic, etc.),
politics, favorite types of music, nationality, almost everything. And if these people
want to talk about supporting gay rights and immigration rights, then that's on them.
Everybody knows that their opinions should count, even if they're just different from
other opinions. It looks like that the entire nation is trying to express their real point
of views. If these people each have different point of views and values and that kind of
stuff, then I guess I have my point of views, too. There's just different ways for all of
us, as equals, to express ourselves, especially when we're trying to say what's really on
our minds. We have different point of views, we're entitled to our opinions, and that's
just the way the whole system goes. everybody will have also thought about what these
so-called "Nay-Sayers" were going to do like shutting the mouths of the whole entire
nation up, covering up their lies, and trying to take control of almost everything, but
it's completely typical of these lying has-beens. If everybody's entitled to their
opinions and want to give out their extreme point of views, let them do so. And if these
so-called "Nay-Sayers" each have a problem with the way we talk, the way we act, the way
we dress, or whatever, that's their problem; not ours. I wish that everybody had their own
point of views and were entitled to their opinions.

Furkans Flotilla

furkan’s flotilla

a year ago this past tuesday,
may 31st,
young furkan dogan,
a native to the united states---
born in troy, new york & living in
turkey after a move at the
age of
2,
was shot four times in the
head &
once in the
chest
(point blank) ,
because he was
on a boat which was part of a
group of six---dubbed the
GAZA FREEDOM FLOTILLA.

desperately
trying
to bring aid
supplies to
the suffering people of
gaza,
these
civilians
traveling in
international
waters were attacked
by the israeli
military &
as a result of their
blatant & brutal
force,
9 other turkish citizens died alongside
this young man
(at age 18, the youngest of the group).

this month,
another flotilla bearing 15 ships
will try to bring aid to the
suffering, again,
& this time, with 1,500 activists
from 100 different countries
traveling to do so,
hopefully this
FREEDOM FLOTILLA II
will be able to make it to
the palestinian people who are
so very much in
need of
help.

these courageous individuals
will pay homage to the
memory of this compassionate
young man,
whose life was stolen from him---
as so many have been during the
period of israel’s policy of
apartheid or
drawn out genocide---
whichever you prefer, in this
game of semantics which always seems to
trump
humanitarian concerns.

this nonviolent group of
individuals will once again do their best
to bring the attention of the
world to this issue---

please listen when they speak
& walk with them in solidarity
for the freedom of an oppressed
people
& the hope for the palestinians
to someday have a secure home of
their own,
unoccupied by the military of another,
whose big brother
still manages to rule the world.

The State of Politics

Well, the Feds have gotten another Gov...
Took him to court without much love.

Another corruption trial is on the wend,
Does it seem like these never end?

You've seen him on the TV I'm sure,
Casting aspersions here and there.

"I've done nothing wrong", you can hear him say,
"Just done things in the political way".

Political ways seem to be the trend,
Are they the end, or the "Means to an End"?

The guy who's battling the Feds in court,
Is one of those political sort.

I wonder where these people come from,
We seem to be always stuck with some.

And when their improprieties are known,
Into that light of reality they're shown.

Money, Power, and Greed are at the top,
These are the things that we have to stop.

But we can't do it by sitting around and wishing,
Not while the politicians take junkets to go fishing.

Do you really know how many days they convene?
Have you sent your Rep a letter to try to intervene?

Because things will go on just as they have in the past,
Politicians come first...the Little Guy comes last.

I know of the apathy I will face when I tote,
As an Election Judge, People just don't come out to vote!

So why should we cry when our politicians see,
The advantages they can take...with OUR money?

I live in a state where too many have done,
What their Greed and Corruption have made them become.

But I'm sure that your State, wherever you are,
Isn't untouched by that fate...not by far.

In the meantime we'll watch the trial with a nod,
I just hope that we can wake up to politicians like Rod.

Oh, I love the State I was born in with joy,
You may have guessed, I live in Illinois!

What Is Left

The people of government take their living,
From the majority of us who keep on giving.
They are paid very well to spew rhetoric,
As they argue in the commons and make us sick.

They take with their hands, grasping with greed,
To fill their pockets with unending need.
All that has reason, all that is right,
Is not to be gotten without a great fight.

They award a yearly pay increase of ten percent,
While people on pensions get one percent.
We all need to eat, we all feel the pain,
Of the high cost of living that goes against the grain.

Their right to free lunches is the right of a thief,
For our rights are nil which gives no relief.
Shall we buy gas for the car, pay rent or eat,
Or pay taxes or phone, is the list complete?

Government and big business are partners concealed,
But their perverse secrets are now being revealed.
While those in the prisons have every need met,
Having TVs, and phones and learning, they're set.

The things they are doing are a sad disgrace,
And we have to run to keep up with the pace.
The law that matters has been put out of the game,
For the law that matters is the commandments by name.

If these were in place, I'm sure it would be true,
That lawyers and politicians would be feeling so blue.
The unfairness in life we need to contemplate,
Before the winds of change keep their date.

When the game is all over and all the cards fold,
There will be many who need to get out of the cold.
For all will be changed, all shall be made right,
When the deeds of the greedy are brought to the light.

Politics For Better Or Words (The Narrative Version)

Politics for Better or Words
(The Narrative Version)

Politics, by nature, nurtures pathological indecisiveness.
Self-appointed officials, being of a transitory nature,
Lavish themselves with costly entertainments, privileges, and travel expenses.
Convenient loss of memory of the events of specific periods comes in handy.
He who invents fables may succeed in dividing electoral districts.
For his own gain, of course, would be typical of a scheming, corrupt politician.
One who is impelled to carry out an idea and conduct public business for private gain.
Government by the worst, one might say, by those eager for selfish gain.
Corruption in a government based on rules of law.
Yet, some leaders seek to alter the law by passing a new law.
All too often, though, it seems to be government based on the newspaper.
For a period of four years, we listen to politicians tell anecdote after anecdote to justify lost
freedoms under the name of NATIONAL SECURITY.
And that, of course, costs money. Thus, more taxes.
And on that matter, there is no agreement among the politicians.
Opinions fluctuate and the people are promised miracle after miracle
Promises needed to hold the nation together during hard times.
After 9-11, leaders with quick agility made preparations for war.
Now, people question whether the war is against terror OR for monetary gain via oil.

Atomic Township

A little town bathed in light
Green fields, blue crystal rivers
perfect roads, winding this
                                    way and
                                         that

Perfect People in a Perfect World
dogs wag tails of joy with,
children, feet skipping, enthused

The lawns neatly cut, sprinklers
lead water into Perfect gutters
bikes ride, kites fly, games
                           played

Darkness looms upon the hills
A black snake, it creeps towards
its Perfect prey,
A red-eye, writhed in smoke and atoms
crashed and Booms in the distance
Harbringer of Death and Decay

CHANGE

A little town bathed in ash
Dead fields, red rivers running
Roads uprooted, winding this
                                way and
                                     that

Perfect People in a Perfect Tomb
dogs tails lay unmoving
children's feet crumbled together
lawns overrun, sprinklers wash
running red into over-dosed gore
plugged gutters
bikes are mangled, kits torn
games of politicians abrogate all

A small music box lays dead-center
playing, echoing across the town
the only memory of hope and suddenly
GONE
gone, lifted away by the midday
sky
blasted out of existence
choked by ASH
A little town bathed in Time

The world trade towers,
The pentagon and the white house.
Attack THEM, they are evil.
The government that protects the oil corps.
The American Government uses its military to steal oil.
Socialize the losses and privatize the profits.
Stupid, confused, Americans.
Israel is an American military base
1948,
Control the oil, control the future.
Truman, cemented America as a superpower.
Israel: Expanding settlements, stealing land.
In trade for keeping the oil in the hands of corps.
Oil traded in dollars: no Euros allowed,,,
Or we beat the war drums, evoke fear.
America and its Zionist military base.
Topple democracies, replace them with dictators,
No taxing the rich to feed the people in the middle east.
Socialism is evil.
We worship greed, AKA: Capitalism
The people want to tax the oil companies and get a check,
The way they do in Alaska
Sarah Palin, The American socialist, who is too ignorant to know it.
If this is not the history you know…
Either I am ignorant or you are….
Oh, my voice is like nails on chalkboard, it cant be true can it?
My propaganda of anti-Americanism
I love this country, my friends and enemies tell me to leave it,
But this is my country and I am here to change it.
I will go down with my ship

Racism Is Your Problem

Some people think what we have is still taboo,
And it's obvious when we enter a room.
       A few eyes seem to watch our every move;
But that makes me pull closer to you and appreciate your value.
They're unaware the stares can't shake nor break what we have,
We just shake off the dirty looks and laugh.

The ignorance of some people say white, black, Latino's don't mix.
I say that's something this country needs to work on and fix.
I've wondered why society stereo-types by race.
People don't lack human emotion despite the color of their face.
A shame we are unable to see, that all are one in the same.
Yet as a nation we prejudge the individual without knowing their name!

This is a new day, a new era.
And yes Sara, I would follow you to the back of the bus.
I would give up my seat to you just because.
If you could not eat in that restaurant, then neither would I!
I would fight for your civil rights, do or die!
That is the depth of our love.
Who cares if others find it "unheard of."
There would be no stopping you and me.
We would walk hand in hand down any street in Mississippi!

The Stain Is Washed Away

What happened in America's past
is a truth too hard to swallow,
and because of a few who did much wrong:
blame was put on an entire race,
and now the stain is washed away,
and all people rejoice and pray!
The winner is elected President,
and the defeated congratulates him...
with moving words filled with humbleness,
and sheds no tears of disappointment!
If his dream becomes our dream,
there's a better reason to sing:
the hymn of freedom and brotherhood,
to forever change that undignified image in an exuberant moment
and be viewed differently by the peoples of the world
that have finally seen her divided people come together and celebrate!

Decades ago, this all seemed impossible to envision...
someone to embark on a long journey and deliver the promise
to all with an indissoluble and unswerving certainty,
defining his victorious moment and sharing it with them:
while his strong voice thunders among frantic faces,
making history in the sacred name of liberty...
being recognized and watch the stain being washed away after all,
but the toughest challenge is to achieve what he promised!

They Kicked Out Delta Because They Didn'T Want and Still Don'T Want Change

The symbol delta means change

Monroe, LA was the kickoff place

For Delta Airlines and Monroe, LA

Kicked it off to Atlanta, GA. Isn't

That deranged? And we wonder

Why we never had and/or lost

Economic growth.

Well in 1942, before I was born,

The people of Monroe told Delta,

So long goodbye take a long flight,

To Atlanta, GA. Well that is what

Monroe,LA does to potential workers,

So long farewell, go to Dallas, TX,

Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, and other

Parts of the country or the state.

1942 marks the beginning of shame

To this city's name. They kicked out

Delta, me, classmates, and family,

Because they don't want change,

And keep most people in leadership

Here who are backwards, selfish,

And don't want change.

They kicked out Delta because

They don't want Monroe to grow.

Now the economy goes from

Sluggish to not moving anymore

Because they kicked Delta

Along with me and many other

Clean out the door.
