Winners

today the top of my mountian
was at the end of a line
as i walked around the corner
i saw how far i had to climb
i saw hundreds of people standing in line
i've never seen so many people voting at one time
several times i'm sure tears welled in my eyes
my heart was filled with something
you can call it pride
because sometime ago our hope was realized
and we began to come together
to give it one good try
the regulars stoped looked, smiled and sighed
some you can clearly tell walking
with tears in eyes
as i walked through the door
i knew my moment had arrived
for me to do my small part
to keep a dream alive
i voted for my candidate
with the issues on my mind
yeah: i thought about race
if i said i didn't, i'd be lying
but in the political race
the best candidate was mine
i think this time we have a winner
a winner yes this time

This is a wonderful RHYME (Form) and a beautifully expressed hope for our future. Great job here, John!! We do mail in here in Oregon which is what I wish they did everywhere ... sometimes those long lines are discouraging to people and the more who vote, the better off we'll all be!!

We have never had to stand in line. Our voting turn outs are very low. Glad you made it to vote. God Bless Phyl

Ahfter sorting thru all the anti-Obama propaganda that I received and listening to both sides, I believe the USA has made the right decision this time. The big day will be January 20 When Bush and IGOR (The Cheney Monster) leave. God Bless. Vinc

John I'm sure it was very emotional for some of us. You expressed that feeling here. Excellent thought penned. Michael Torres
