Nor do I feel free
akin to noble savage
(gratis to Jean Jacques Rousseau)
completely unfettered, and able lee
to fend off unseen banshee,
comically swatting for all to see,
though today February Eighth,
2019 quite similar (i.e. dime
a dozen) to many previous twenty
four hour blocks of time,
herewith metering poetic testimony
hashing out another rhyme,
I feel considerably less mindful,
as if complicit in a major crime,
(yes absolutely more remorseful
regarding entire lifetime
of indifference) prime
err rilly linkedin into call lapsed
shoulder shrug, shrink into self, or
other convenient pantomime
schizoid personality disorder diagnosis,
asper this pronounced emotional detachment
more painfully clear climb
ming pyramid of self actualization -
engendered through longtime
therapy in tandem with
half dozen prescription medications
and cathartic, holistic, therapeutic...pastime
writing poems delving into scarred psyche
aftermath years burned by quicklime
writhing, when aware impacted me now
evincing unrepentant blank affect
behavior couched, established, fostered
during in utero stage, characteristics
manifested by full termtime
tidbits shared by parents chime
how my body tensed
like tightly wound coil before schooltime
reinforced destructive coping skills
resident in this older chap
aroused during bedtime
poking, seeping, violating...dreamtime.
Aphorism Plus “How Long Did I Dream”by Lou Breese and His
Version: Orchestra, 1942, vocals by Jean Williams:
The first time How long did I dream?
that I saw you How long did I sigh?
was across the How long did I scheme
crowded room. To make you mine?
You walked in How long did I yearn?
a tight tiny door How long did I pray?
took your hand How long did I learn
cutup dance floor To love you this way?
sardines in a can.
Crazy got crazier I thought that I'd forget you,
the front rush up But I never did.
the back was there I thought that I'd regret you,
and we all got stuck But I never did.
in a middle square.
We closed our eyes How long did I dream?
the gals and guys How long did I cry?
in the confusion How long did I scheme
its just an illusion To make you mine?
Twas our pastime
yours and mine
we were extreme
and all is fine
I seem to deem
the dance theme
“How Long Did I Dream”
Most of the time I am thinking about my pets
Pets others have dumped out
Pets who should probably have therapy but don’t.
One of them is a large pony dog we named Buddy.
He was dumped two months ago; he chews up everything.
Memory foam mattress, shoes, boots, sandals, balls,
bones, doggie chews, doggie toys, spoons, snow scrapers,
spatula handles, cardboard boxes, mouse traps, rulers,
fly swatters, and the lids off of plastic bottles.
Another is my new kitty Nemo who I struggled to get to the vet
for her shots on Saturday only to discover I had brought my cat Shark.
Nemo looks exactly like Shark only half his weight.
He fought me like a tiger when I was pushing him into a kitty carrier.
My other dog Sophie Helen is a worry; when I hear her squeaking
I know that Buddy is bothering her. He is ten times her size-
a giant galoot, and super impulsive.
My children are all grownup; my grandchildren have their friends now.
And their cars, so my time is spent thinking about my pets.
It is a delightful pastime, and they make life worthwhile.
I don’t write this for feed back or reaction
as it's not my need too feel satisfaction
I haven't invested nor look to progress
I'm just restless with rhymes ink press
them to an instrumental that's all
not a fool seeking approval to go professional
I don’t see or hear responses
your thoughts are not on my conscience
I dont care if you hate it or like it
it's all cheese to me grated or sliced bits
tastes the same on pizzas after ovens melt it
just a dried up felt tip impolitely
drawing on the wall your boring common ite-ey
the world gave me a crippling anxiety
which has removed me from society
if you want to see me act uncomfortably
all you need is to say a compliment to me
Cus me and you are completely apart
you need them while I stay apart
I'm just messing because technology is at hand
but I'm sure this pastime is hard to understand
I sit at home writing for therapy
spared a want to care what they think of me
Everyday alone blind never lose a blink of sleep
opinions they pin on me stay unseeked
I just ink in my seat to sooth my heartbeat
so you’re a fool if you think it’s done for approval
I ain’t like you I ain’t usual
so to think I want feed back
when I dont need that
if given an elevated social status
I'd evacuate free to a place more spacious
however to the 2 faces who were loyal undoubtedly
but quick to doubt and skip out on me, skidaddle
once a friend revealed as a traitor
see you later mate aint worth hating
I've awakened to truth stated
plus your company's overrated
so don't come with me or after
after friendship breaking cus if I'm not mistaken
you said to everyone I make up stories
the blagger of Bath known for blagging bad on the ordinary
blagging like a bag carries baguettes in France
saying I'm mentally unstable while you compulsively lie
and I've quit chronic while you're still on it daily
5 years ago I quit yet I'm bonkers well maybe
yet plonkers believe how you describe me so clearly
I'll never forgive you for saying I make things up
we were like family and you totally mucked it up
You say I’ll never brake you, I don’t intend too, these your mistakes back for take two, now rank forsakes you, you thick plank I hate you,
a war you forced changes course while you stay with no remorse stripped of resources no reliant source to call on when fallen no authority to report on no longer important or potent just undefended and open fully exposed at the forefront, oh no, you can’t fail and fail again like last time when it was your pastime because it lasted time, pastime what a sad life, a mangled mind trying all angles but denied fully committed mind applied, failure, denied, failure but failure don’t faze you it’s just your nature why did you have to make me hate ya!
Oh for the days of my long lost youth
Making paper airplanes, watching em glide
Looping like barnstorming pilots of the 30s
Above the tree tops like birds they fly
Our imagination never saw paper airplanes
We saw ourselves as pilots on board
Soaring skyward with not a worry in the world
We could even hear the engines roar
Another favourite pastime was climbing trees
Just like masts on a pirate ship
Looking out on the ocean with a telescope
A musket hanging from my hip
Another fantasy, being a famous hockey star
Heard the cheering of adoring fans
Dreaming at night, scoring the winning goal
No more school, no more final exams
Oh for the old days, hmm perhaps I'll rethink that
It's pretty damn good from where I sit
Each stage in life has it's own special happening
Now? I'm happy as a piggy in !!!

Ancestral ties to climes' worth, heeds adaptive skills mid moving change as focus stead our needs; rabbits to tusked boars, oysters to tiger sharks -- pets were a deterrent, as animals were downed. Crisp Spring day
winds gusting
birds on beach
The West End
where Artists aspire
to live their dreams
Strolling Boardwalk
regulars pass by
enjoying rhythm
Daily excursions
through turmoil
and jubilant feelings
Fog rolls in
under a sprinkle
Ocean in a tempest
Sun breaks through
during lackluster afternoon
children playing
Cell phone rings
friendly voice
amidst chaos
Baseball season starts
America's pastime
frigid eve
Another dawn
breaks monotony
anxiety pesters
Spring snowfall imminent
insomnia strikes
Is it natural?
A child is an angel
my flesh and blood
sleeping peacefully
Video games galore
when you hang
with a 14 year old.

Lonesome moment fades by time
The awakening or my past sublime
L'ho provato sulla mia pelle
Or just maybe
L'amor che move il sole e l' altre stelle
Shines forth
The you and me
Like pleiades could be
The apple polishing of your smile
You sailed fervor under favor of cloudless skies
I could catch you from a million times
Because you're my winning festone
Simply looking in your eyes
To Stella
Cupidity exists in dreams
Your the pastime in between
I am born out of nothing
Love is faith and fate is mean
To love you is everything I could ever do
Your the light that I keep
To Stella, that's all I believe...
