The Sun Rises

I'd been the fire in the rain
the sun in the storm
I'd been everywhere
and nowhere

my broken back arched
once in defiance,
a monk chanted and
the moon stood still

I told him,
don’t pray for me I am a
godless goddess
the white fire burns in me
and no other

through a tongue-less mouth
I screamed for release
into the otherworld
having a million words to say
I was speechless

~~~
the sun rises in me again
healing my wounds
the answer to my cries
I am free again to dream
my monk friend,
take my hands feel my faith
my broken back now healed
arches in exaltation
I dance on moonbeams
sliding the light of beauty
dream catchers spin with
the sound of my first word
I am reborn and new once more
only my joy will be the death of me
PINK SCALLOP SHELL
PINK SCALLOP SHELL
Along my road to Freedom stood
showy blue-green sentinels with
white cloud whiffs representing Sky
starling decorated bushes joined
Party of the Road to nowhere
this was where Freedom
danced naked, her shadowed body
awaiting with roasted chestnuts
she met us with a hug and drums
on I moved to dissolve into River
braincells becoming numinous atomic matter
smiling towards Void, ever deeper into
Dark for Light, a von Gogh sunflower watched
in longing as breasted hills embraced
my drowning, matrix fell away
stillness and sound merging as did
boundaries, embankment with Freedom herself
from River into Sea
I became a pink scallop shell on
undulating ocean floor
Premium Member A Danger to My Self
Danger said to hold on tight
Tonight will be a bumpy ride
Birth the self full-armed to fight
Cuz there's nowhere left that we might hide
The topplers heard you were the bird
That sung such pretty lies
The sleepless truth you have now stirred
And would tear those pretty eyes
Life and death are vying for me
We clamber from the shores unto the seas
Hoping the moon well receives our pleas
The winds upon the tides promise no guarantee
The prophets are aligned
And too, our fates resigned
But we pledge all our light
To remain free
Tho' the end be in sight
We rescind that destiny
Angels are on high
Fires churn the watery deep
If I try bide the time to cry
Will the world wake from its sleep
And try in its humble way
To comfort me
I can see the light spilling upward forming day
I can see the sinking clouds parting in our way
Fallen in the fray
Is this the destiny you've chose for me
Love is the candle that lights our way
I tremble at these words you say
Tables ever turning
Luck is giving sway
Don't ever let me catch you settling
For the fates others pay
Leave them to their days
Dying in the craze
They never paid their—praise
Go on
Be what you must be
Truth is happy and is sleeping
Tears of joy, weeping—
Night fills with day
Premium Member Tell Me Why You Haunt Me So
Tell me why you haunt me so.
I must admit that I don’t know.
But thoughts of you fill up my mind
And won’t be left behind.
You’ve entered into all my dreams,
A vague and distant hope, it seems.
A constant, almost subtle threat
That I cannot forget.
You fill me up, I overflow.
Tell me why you haunt me so.
Tell me why you haunt me so.
The planted seed must surely grow.
And thoughts of you just fill my head
Like vines they cling and spread.
They slowly creep up every wall
And crumble them until they fall.
Then cover all beneath their bloom,
A peaceful flowery tomb,
And there I sleep, so far below.
Tell me why you haunt me so.
Tell me why you haunt me so.
I know not where to turn or go.
You’re everywhere, an ocean wide
And I’ve nowhere to hide.
You beat upon my rocky shore,
Patiently break down my door.
You seep through every crack and hole
Replenishing my soul.
I’m dragged out by your undertow.
Tell me why you haunt me so.
Such Is the Way of the Life
Fascinated by a word ‘lofty solitude’
I, as a tall and dignified pine tree,
once stood high on a mountaintop
that stands there from a time remote in antiquity
the unfathomable height.
However, I have burned the pride of the pine tree
to ashes in the sunset glow
because no one ever noticed the trail after trials of hardship
the pine tree underwent to sustain the self as pine tree
on the summit of mountain, and, therefore, I felt offended.
Bewitched by a word ‘tragedy’
I was, as a fluffed giant rock,
stood on the cliff no one ever stepped on
in one of those stormy night,
the roaring thunders, dazzling lightening
and the darkness reigns with flapping huge wings.
However, unable to hold own weight any longer,
wishing to mount on the back of a cloud,
I tried to hold a drifting cloud struggling with tiptoed stretches.
Becoming a captive of a word ‘anguish’
I wandered the wilderness
with thirst under burning sun
and hunger in chilling air at night.
However, the word anguish was the fierce torture
the whip inflicted on no one but self,
and, therefore, the deep wound never be healed
gives sharp pains unable to bear.
I thought the word 'loneliness' becomes to me,
I sat by the window counting a lot of stars in nightly sky
heaving with sighs as many as the stars I have counted.
I spent the sleepless night longing for an unknown love
in the ripples of moonlight,
the breaking surfs by the window.
However, throughout a night’s loneliness
I was overcame by sorrow, and became the drops of tears
and heaped up to overflowing in my heart’s river,
the solitary stream had nowhere to flow.
For a word ‘moksha--spiritual awakening' is so awesome
I roamed here and there wishing to find it the meaning of life,
and when I found it, I have collected it with joy
and packed it in old beaten knapsack I was carrying and returned.
However, when knapsack was unpacked and found was,
neither the will nor the way as I was expected all along,
but full of useless stones the darkness that is darker
then the raven’s feathers.
After all,
I think I do understand the meaning of the word ‘life’
though vague and fragmentary, now, I am standing
as a stem of reed in the marsh by a river
while swaying about in the wind
to tattoo the word ‘life’ on my sick and weary body.
Now scared need to git out of here;
People all gathering in the streets;
Prostitutes and Pimps calling each other sweet;
People united maybe together
None of this makes any sense;
United maybe gathering on the roads;
Little dogs getting run over;
Surrounding the area none of this makes no sense;
Virus's Identity
It springs like rain on mown grass
Winds murmur over quiet pines
No hoofbeats of horseman lost
No limpid water from deep springs
oasis lift from arid sand.
Barbarian rides past towers without watchman
Deep thunder in mountain thrown up
Footprints of the darkness
stone like starkness
Harrowing & unhalting.
Grand inquisitor, earth's jailhouser
coverned deep and iron ringed
submerged in auto-cage of steal
Far from end and near to nowhere
lifting our heads to the light of God:
Spare my family and friends, thou great
keeper of souls
In its direness and darkness
footprints of light, our bodies taken,
our self retaken,
wastelands of ruins heaped with ash
mea culpa, mea culpa
Broken Pieces
Life before love....how did I survive?
Living on the edge and running for my life
looking for something....what I didn't know
people to see and places to go
running on empty....flying high
some nights I danced; some nights I cried
loved some and lost some too
too many bad memories to sober up to
so I stayed “medicated” most of my life
it seems I needed to; to get me through  life
all of my days seem such a blur
I tried not to feel..but when I did it hurt
I know without a doubt my kids saved my life
of all that was wrong....they were what was right
every ounce of strength I had came from their love
then God sent his blessing from above
out of nowhere came my handsome prince
and wouldn't you know....i've been happy ever since
so if this story shows you anything at all
you never know where broken pieces may fall
Premium Member I Throw Everything Out
I live on a warpath of total destruct,
A ruinous track to nowhere,
Leaving me here, in a complete devastate,
Leaving me full of despair.
See, I throw out my life, I throw it away,
Leaving just a cup that is brown,
Leaving me free with my thoughts to remember,
My memories for me to put down,
From my mind on display, in a room that is blank,
Each flashback is now in full sight,
And I can relish all that I’ve ever done,
I can unwrap and reflect and then write,
Poems and verse, quatrains with a line,
About a woman who posed for my art,
And when my thoughts have all dried in ink,
All I’ll have is a slow beating heart.
YOU MISS ME NOW
songer.co/song/epzclpaimyh9s5cai9h5ub15
[Verse 1]
I cried in the kitchen, you looked through me
I asked for your heart, you gave me your need
I stayed through the silence, through cold and pretend
But love isn’t love when it won’t let you in
[Pre-Chorus]
I held it together, threadbare and torn
You only looked up once the feeling was gone
[Chorus]
You miss me now, but you never saw me then
When I reached for your light and was met with the end
You feel the hurt now, like it came out of nowhere
But I lived with the leaving long before I left there
You miss what you lost, not the woman I was
You love me in sorrow, not in our love
[Verse 2]
I whispered my fears, you turned away
Called me too heavy, too much in your day
I gave you my quiet, I gave you my peace
But I lost myself trying to help you release
[Pre-Chorus]
I broke without breaking, I begged without sound
You’re grieving a silence that’s always been loud
[Chorus]
You miss me now, but you never showed up
When I needed your soul, not just your touch
You feel it now like it’s suddenly clear
But I begged you to listen for so many years
You miss what you lost, not the woman I was
You mourn in the silence, but never heard us
[Bridge]
You say you were scared, that you didn’t know how
But I needed someone—not someday, not now
You found your emotion the day I moved on
But I cried like this once, and you told me be strong
[Final Chorus]
You miss me now, but I needed you then
Not the ghost of a man who comes back at the end
You feel the pain, but you never took part
In the loving, the holding, the hearing of heart
You miss what you lost, not the woman I am
And I won’t come back for a half-hearted man
