Harlem Blues !

While writing about the History of Jazz Music in verse , I got the idea for composing this
fictitious poem ! I hope the readers will like it !

            Harlem Blues !

Lingering perfumes float through the night air ,
Life was a drudgery for him and no one cared !
With neon lights blinking and flashing every-
where !
The jazz band in the saloon played a soft tune ,
And the lady there sang the blues and also
crooned !
Now the solitude of the night gets to him ,
As he drops down into a corner seat where lights
are rather dim !
Signals the waiter as he lights his cigar ,
And orders a large whiskey and soda , having
come down so far !
He remains enthralled by the lone singer’s
voice ,
He must spend this ‘blue night’ all alone , -
since he had no other choice !
The singer now comes pretty close to him ,
And he could see her white teeth dazzle and
gleam !
But when he looked into those dark eye lashes , -
Sad memories form the past before his eyes
flashes !

He had been a clarinet player of some renown ,
But his wife couldn’t tolerate its piping sound !
His habit of playing his pipe at mid-night hours ,
Made her to desert him for their marriage had
gone sour !
The blue notes in the saloon soon comes to an
end ,
But the music goes on simply to entertain !
The singer now invites this loner to her room ,
He accompanies - trying to forget his loneliness
and gloom !
She pours out two drinks in her upstairs room ,
And places his head gently between her bosom , -
Which makes him to swoon !
The ‘blue notes’ still plays on in his mind ,
It is then when she pulls out a clarinet form
behind !
Seeing him surprised - she laughs out loud ,
He stares at the clarinet with misgiving and doubt !
“Don’t worry darling I had met you wife ,
She had shown me your picture and told me about
your life !
From my childhood days I had loved the clarinet ,
It turns me on before I go to bed !
So play the pipe gently as I get into my slip-on ,
And we shall make love right into the morn !”
He picked up the clarinet and played ‘the blues’
so tender and so light , -
The music echoed through the lonely Harlem
night....... !

Music For You P.S. (Adult Content)

Music comforts the soul, cures that restless spirit.
Some songs will make you crank up the volume so everyone can hear it....
Music can alter moods, and talk to you.
Some songs have the remedy for what you're going through....
Music is good medicine for a broken heart,
and yet some songs can turn around and tear it apart....Music has brought people all
around the world together;
And some melodies will keep playing on forever....
Music adds to the intensity of making love.
Fuels that fire, you can't seem to get enough of....
Music makes me sad, glad, happy and mad.
Some songs make me pick up a pen and pad....
Music makes me wanna pull a woman close, kiss her nose, remove her clothes,
       suck her toes,
And with Janet Jackson still singing "That's the Way Love Goes;"
Me and her make our own music video until her sweet nectar overflows!!!!!

Note: To my fav. soupers, I don't know your preferred genre of music and sometimes age
plays a huge role in a persons tastes in music. Since I don't know everyone's age, I'm going
by gut feeling and the personalities I read on my comments and my soupmail. If you guys
download music; I've written one song for the following people. A song from me to you, so
to speak. Be open minded and listen to the whole song. Enjoy. #1 Marty "Devil Woman" by

Premium Member O' Wheel of Fortune

My heart shrivels dry, blackened rose in bitter anguish, ...
 Do you feel my pain?
Why must the flame of day dwindle dim?
O' fortune, like the moon, changeable, waxing and waning
Oppressing me, first with power's soothing stroke
            To take it all away!
Poverty of my spirit lies in love's immortal wake
Why fate of fortune, cruel regard, forsaken me?

Vain, and shadowed, I waver between the balance
Such agony is mine!
Day and night, everything defies me?
Great is my grief!
One cure, escape me from the throes of my misery !!
I beg, the Gods... hear my wail, hear my plea
Would fate be cured by kiss, one look, one sign, devotion? !

This wretchedness is black, I taste bitter ash!
Keep dark night hidden in the depth of your heart, o' moon !!

I am like a leaf, played with by the wind
I am like a light hovering bird, chains cannot bind me !!
Salvation comes with desire, one touch
Do not turn the eyes away...!
I cannot be shamed!
Torment me not, o' heartless moon!!

Wheel of fortune spins my heart...I beg to win love's prize !!
Without it, I will bemoan the wounds of fortune with weeping eyes
.... and I am cursed as I fall from the peak of glory....
into the depths of the valley of despair !!

Inspired by the classical music, "Carmina Burana"
A cantata, written between l935-36 by German composer Carl Orff.
This passionate work was based on ancient poems hand-scribed in Latin...these parchment
manuscripts discovered in a Bavarian monastery in l803. They were believed to have been
written by students of the clergy (monks) sometime during the 11-13th century.
This familiar music has been used in numerous film scores..quite dramatic and powerful

The Drums and I

There are three of us in this romance
It’s a strained love triangle between you
And me
And that gleaming set of drums lurking in your spare room
However much you may try to deny it
To say that I am the only one for you
That instrument knows better

She can see right through your carefully constructed assurances
She watches you touch me
And she laughs her mocking silent laugh
Because she feels a stronger caress every night when I’m away
When she embraces you in her steely grip
And transports you back to the realm of your youth
A place I can never go with you

Whenever I walk into her domain I feel her brooding mockery
The bronzed Halloween mouth of the hi-hat flaps in an abrasive chuckle
Taunting my fragile mortality
Reminding me that she was here long before me
And she’ll live on long after I’m cold in the ground

She knows she was your first and truest love
She exposes me as a pitiful flesh-and-blood copy of her dominatrix allure
My eyes don’t shine like her shimmering paint
My curves don’t hold a candle to her solid voluptuous shape
And the sweet whispers and cries of passion that escape my tender lips –
She drowns them out with her thundering primal roars

Sometimes in my braver moments I think that I can beat her
That I can prise you away with my brittle white fingers
But then I see you sitting in the midst of her glory
Like a powerful exotic king
With your hair flowing free and your eyes ablaze
I hear the erotic melodies that pound through your fists
Into her metallic belly

And it is then that the realization sinks in
In this weird love triangle of three
You are the husband and she is your steely wife
And as for me -- I am the other woman
Forever perched precariously on the edge
A mistress beside your instrumental queen…

Music the Amazing Maneuverer of Hearts

Compilations of songs,
beats, rhythms, pleasant melodious sounds
the tonic solfas
the oooooohsss and aaaaaaahhhsss
of music running through my mind & head

Humming notes
playing chords unimaginable
magnified sounds with pleasant rhythms
almost unexplainable and unbelievable
turning me on and almost musically insane,
musically intoxicating,
gradually taking my consciousness away,
separating me from this so called
real world

I'm almost drowning in my new found world,
this new experience,
this encapsulating & overshadowing piece of art,
lovely,
beautiful,
amazing,
mesmerizing,
gentle,
temporous,
captivating,
invigorating my pains,
gradually dissolving my realism
making me self absorbed in its presence
and awareness

Gradually It awakens
my unconsciousness to the
real world
charges my senses,
magnifies my emotions,
sinks my oblivion,
exalts my energy and strength

Its voice is miraculously magical
taking me to places and peaks unimaginable,
the highest of heights with bursts of ascending,
and unending energy as the notes are raised,
while my heart is mesmerized and
completely taken and lost with its melody,
rhythm,
synchrony and style

Its miraculously magical peaks descend when the notes are lowered,
reducing the vigor from its bursts of energy to that of a slowly down-flowing river cooling and calming down,
slowing down
like a vehicle approaching its destination,
like a fire gradually quenched by down-pouring rainfall and
gradually my heart follows,
descending with its rhythm

Finally
my awareness to the real world suddenly rekindles,
still trying to remember what had happened,
What was that all about?
A dream?

Wishing it should have never ended.

Premium Member Whiskey 'N' Grins On Cd

Yea, When it comes to bars and drinkin', and how! I've done my share,
It always has me thinkin', of past times, yea, when and where,
I've done my share of fightin' too, and no one ever wins,
The worst I got was a bitin' o-o-o-oh! from a big mouth dude named Grins,

Yea, we'd all been drinkin' whiskey, when we should have been drinkin' beer,
Grins girlfriend came and kissed me,Yea, the one he loved so dear,
Then Grins slammed me to the floor, I heard someone bet 10 dollars,
Most went runnin' for the door, through all the screams and hollers,

Then Grins got my fingers in his mouth, and I couldn't get them out,
I just figured he'd bite them off, so I choked him til' he coughed,
Yea, I've done my share of fightin' dude, Ya know, no one ever wins,
and I'd rather be struck by lightnin' too, than bit by big mouth Grins,

Now, when it comes to bars and drinkin', and wherever I go, anywhere,
It always has me thinkin', of what I'll be drinkin' there,
and when it comes to drinkin' whiskey, I'd rather just drink some beer,
and if the occasion gets too whiskey, hey! it's, I'm up out a here!

Yea, I've done my share of fighting too, and no one ever wins,
I'd rather be struck by lightning dude, than bit by big mouth Grins,
When it comes to drinkin' whiskey, I'd rather just drink some beer,
if the occasion gets too risky, Hey! it's, I'm up out a here!

Yea, when it comes to drinkin' whiskey, I'd rather drink some beer,
if the occasion gets too risky, Hey! it's, I'm up out a here!
If the occasion gets too risky, Hey!.....it's I'm up out of here,
Yea! It's I'm up out of here.

Wasted

Therein lies the answer,
Therein lies the truth,
Therein lies confession,
When wounded hearts we sooth

For reality is stark and painful,
When we turn into fools,
And the moment we admit it,
Is the time we break the rules,

And ignorance is bliss,
For the hidden nail is seldom hammered,
I’m not sure about you,
But keep away from me please,

Keep away from me please,
For the night is young and lovely,
And the voice of the party is to be happy,
I don’t really need you now,

I don’t need you conscience,
To tell me I am wrong,
For a just want to drown myself,
And get lost in this song

Chorus...
 ( Tonight I’m running naked
And the dawn will make me cry
For I hate baring my soul by day
When the darkness bids goodbye

Tonight I’ll cast away my chains
And away from you I’ll fly
So deep you won’t be reaching me
No matter how hard you try )
...End of chorus

Therein lies delusion
Therein lies the beast
Therein lies obsession
When from tired hearts we feast

For the lies we weave are dark and silken
When we feed on deceit
And the soft flesh of misery,
Is where we sink our teeth

Dark temptation is real,
For the walls we make are easily trampled,
I’m so sure about it
so keep away from me please

Keep away from me please,
I’d rather be alone and lonely,
For later you’ll just regret my company,
Go, keep away from me now

I have lost my conscience
That tells me right from wrong,
So if you don’t want to drown yourself,
Don’t fall hard for this song

REPEAT CHORUS

Premium Member Queens of Noise

This is a piece about five rocking girls
At seventeen years old they rocked my world
I think I first heard of them in Sounds magazine
Five girls next door whom entered my scene

The cover of their Album just blew me away
These five American girls, music their say
Behind bars they were in delightful pose
At seventeen years old the love in me grows

This I had too purchase can't wait to get home
Needle to vinyl in groove rocking roam
All ten tracks played, time and time again
These "Queens of Noise" these five sure do reign

There was Lita, Cherie and Sandy West
No disrespect I liked Sandy the best
Then there was Jackie, and lastly Joan Jett
Five girls my heroes, rocking their set

Next thing I know they are playing "Live in Japan"
This I must buy, cost, 'I don't give a damn'
The glossy pictures melted my heart
Once again in the groove, the needle did start

Just my luck, the line up didn't last
New members arrived that left me aghast
But these things happen in Rock 'n' Roll
Knowing they existed, rocked my soul

I leave this short write to say my thanks yous
My favourite Sandy West, was too young to lose
To the original band including dear Sandy above
At seventeen years old, boy! was I so in love

I dont wanna be like you i dont wanna follow a sheep and wear blue i dont wanna be size

but is it when your lifes all over the papers? they say youre a star one minute and its
over the next i just want to be me not the best ill wear what i like and do what i want
ill follow your guidance but only this once....
dreams of fame but when it fails whose the one to blame dreams of me in glitter but didnt
they tell you youre all the same i couldnt be the way you wanted so i was shoved to the
back of the que sick of this life fame has put me through
sick of this fame oh sick of this fame.....
crazy clothes and crazy hair do you think my makeup is fair? waiting for your song to get
to number 1 but when its over they will all forget were you came from wishing you hadnt
got photographed in that short skirt now everyone says youre a flirt is this the price
that fame costs
youre real identity is what you truly lost....
dreams of fame but when it fails whose the one to blame dreams of me in glitter but didnt
they tell you youre all the same i couldnt be the way you wanted so i was shoved to the
back of the que sick of this life fame has put me through
sick of this fame oh sick of this fame oh baby

Play,Grand Piano, Play...

Sitting here with nothing but inspiration,
writing another song for ovation;
it may be brief or very long,
sound lively or really sad!
And what concerns me is:
will it be well-received
and claimed a masterpiece,
or know the fate of oblivion?

Play,grand piano, play...
and let these fingers create
what no composer ever invented;
and let this music survive others
that simply lay,under thick dust,
on shelves of forgotten names!

Staring out at the raging sea,
these notes remind me of misery...
recalling faces and placed I admire;
my only consolation is to send out a message,
that universal message to people in rage...
people who are denied their right of expression!
Dance, brightly dance,o peoples of Humankind...
singing aloud the melody of the sympathetic one,
who shares the sorrow of this troubled age!

Play,grand piano,play...
to sound almost divine, as deep feeling
and intense passion intensify;
and if all are listening,
let the joyful rhythm take their frantic souls away...
to whichever place they wish to be!
And there they'll be rejoicing,
calling out aloud the name of sacred liberty!

My days are closing in and I catch the last bright sunset;
play, grand piano,play...until you hear my last, weary breath!
