~ Gypsy Bride ~

Ocean tides
Still frames
Flicking like cards
A sea of lives
Shuffling, them
In her hands
Chronological
Chromatic, aberrations
The years
That have come and gone
Silent
Still frames
Wanting to breathe
Their life, into me
Black and white
Once again
Flashing colours
Lights
Rushing tides
A deck of cards
'A Gypsy Bride'
One by one
She turns
"And
This
Is
Your life"
Familiar faces
In the crowd
Smiling
Waving
And then their gone....
Eyes
Staring
Beyond
The tide
Distant skies
Still frames
A deck of cards
Inside, my mind
Tents and banners
Black and white
Colourful lights
Carnival rides
"This, this is your life"
'A Gypsy Bride'
Voices and laughter
Years, like the wind
Shuffling
Them
In
Her hands
Once again
Trying to breathe
Their life
Their life, into me....
Ocean tides
A sea of lives
A crystal ball
'A Gypsy Bride'
Familiar faces
And smiling eyes
"This
This is your life"
"What do you see?"
I speak
Glancing, beyond the seas
Staring, beyond the tides
A deck of cards
'A Gypsy Bride'
"Show me your palms"
She whispers
"Today, they'll collide
The past
The future
Your dreams
This, is your life"
One more time
Trying to breathe
Its breath, its life
Inside, of me....
"What do you see?"
"What, did you see?"
Smiling
A deck of cards
Shuffling
Them in her hands
My hands
Chronological
Chromatic, aberrations
The years
Silent
Movie reels
Black and white
Colourful lights
Banners and tents
And carnival rides
A crystal ball
An upturned palm
"This, is your life
Enjoy the sights"
A deck of cards
Familiar faces
Making
My way
Through the crowd
Alone
Alone, now
Staring, at the tide
The tide, through time....
'Gypsy'
'My Gypsy'
'My Gypsy Bride'
Smiling
Distant eyes
Beyond the skies
"This, is your life"
She whispers
As she puts her arm
She puts her arm
About my side
"Wonderful isn't it?"
She says
"Here
Pick a card
Any card"
Ocean tides
A sea of lives
Dreams
And
Precious eyes
Lives....
Beautiful
Years gone by
Still frames
Still
In my mind
Carnival rides
Colourful lights
Moments in time
"Ten dollars please"
She smiles
She whispers
My arm
About
Her side
"This, is your life"
"But I only have five"
..........."My"...........

Maiden Voyage

There comes a moment in our live's
Be it this day, this year, this night
When all at once we can bare no more
Of life's struggles, strife, and fights.

Not to say we wish to end it
But just to retreat a little while
Like a ship that leaves the harbour
To sail a sea of trials.

To deal with one wave at a time
Tossing and turning with each blow
Of what beguiles us day to day
When riding high or lying low.

Woe betide us the awkwardness
Of discussions with mother-dear
The to's and fro's of where to go
Resulting in life's understeer.

The highs of unchecked enthusiasm
Taking ourselves by surprise
With assurances of what we'll do
Towards the optimistic goal we dare to realise.

'Till at last we meet our pillows
For the truths to flow freely then
The floods of tears urge them forth
As for the first time, reality we tend.

The more we fight the more we fall
So says the back of our tired mind
But hoist the sail of want and drive
And work with the storms design.

Sometimes happenings feel larger than life
More like someone else's than our own
But just play the part and fight none
As is the only advice people seem to condone.

The step up and out can feel more like a fall
The stern ruling dominate over the bow
Severe is the harshness of reality
Of what we must face now.

No step by step instruction
Just a compass and a destination
Through the terrors we must ourselves navigate
It all being part of our confirmation.

The confirmation of what we choose to be:
An ocean liner with ease cruising through?
A fighting, battle worn frigate giving no chances?
Or an honest trade barge plodding through?

Once in a while settling at a mooring
With futures docks in sight
I know I long to stop forever there
And prolong the stillness and calm of this night.

Wether it's calm or just panic beyond measure,
I guess I'll never know
As each song on the wind's a current
That can lift me high or sink me low.

One summers day I'll reach that docks
Of the place I'm meant to be
Far away yet oh so near
I hope that soon the end I'll see.

For now I guess I'll stay adrift
In a sea of uncertainties
And shout once more and again
A young sailor's prayers and pleads.

Taking Charge

We come from down under
With a voice of thunder,
Yet stunned into wonder
By the things we say.

Throw down past failure
On the shore of Forgotten,
Stand tall as a captain,
Shove off with a shout!

Free wheel's in our grabbers,
Fierce wind's in our favor;
Cut loose every anchor
And sail with a smile!

Hear the waves roaring now,
Feel how they buffet now,
Plunging us down again,
Lifting us high!

Life is the sea of us;
We're not afraid of it!
Sweet the salt brine of it,
Onward we go!

Hail to the lightning there,
We're up for fighting there!
Reefs all about us, bare;
Now we attack!

Breasts are now laboring,
Death is not favoring;
Strike for your life-love,
Stretch for your goal!

On through the wave-crash
Of wishes and mindlessness,
On through the hatred
Of men that can't do;

Steer through the foolishness,
Rush through the madnesses,
Wade through the bubbles
On up to the beach!

Isle that's awaited us,
Be not afraid of us;
Souls of Atlantismen
Come here to stay.

Home of the sea of us,
Life of the deeds of us,
Smile of the style of us----
We, who are free!

We come from down under
With a voice of thunder,
Yet stunned into wonder
By the things we say.

Galaxy of Life

Don’t be fooled by what your eyes envision
for it has risen an exotic creature beneath the sea of stars
as if many worlds, undiscovered worlds apart are true
like the sky, a mad blue, blackened with night’s jewels
of ancient navigation tools and inventions
with wings to sore the forgotten lands,
plans a born spirited fool’s way into a world unto ourselves
and I indulge…
Breathe in the darkness of the dawning day
and I stay a while…
I play a while…
the arresting heavens as my witness I pray a silent pray
of magic’s way in the moments of our beating heart
as it is through the way of created art I choose a life
not apart from love nor I that is we
but above a sea of majestic souls
scuttling about in the unknown of here and there
as I stare beyond what my eyes envision,
a colossal collision of space and Earth,
of the birth of boundless time…
And I am here…
I am Love…
As it is written by the galaxy above.

To Sonia (Lg)

I am your windbreak
Your sea wall
The friendly perimeter of your skin
Such a very important nothing at all
The prize you always want to win

Your bosom maternal
Anchored my dreams for another way
You moored me
When my sea was slipping away
And gave me the memory
That will not cease in death
And all the tension with it
I flourish without my fruit
I blossom
Without the nurturing of root

We both would consider better alternatives
To repeat performances
Except for the certainty ... the superlatives
Of expectation in romances
Dusty in old books
We have no covenant and no demand
You will seize the day
And I will ponder how the thing looks.

The Sea of Emotion

The Sea is an emotion,
Rising and rising with odium,
As it plummets into its abyssal,
Woe of a shell.
Or into its soiled filled blues
Blues of burning fury
Blues of sad melodies
And joyous blues,
Robbed of its, own joyful blues.
Left to hear nothing,
But the cry of a calm wind.

The wind that controls the sea,
The wind that,
Sooths its anger or it feeds its rage.

But what happens when the calming wind,
Can calm no more, or play its soothing melodies.
What will happen to me, when I the sea,
Cannot be calmed anymore,
When I the sea have lost all sense of control,
When I the sea erupt in dusk waters,
Filled with the fury of my indigo soul
