Presidents Truman, Kennedy, Regan, Biden
Sparing a turkey from a Thanksgiving table. The presidential Turkey Pardon

Massachusetts
is a truly historic state.
Indigenous people lived there for
over ten thousand years before it was
colonized by the English in the 17th century.
The 17th century brought a mass migration
of Puritan immigrants into the area
while the subsequent centuries
brought new waves of
immigrants.

Abraham Lincoln’s
son Tad got upset when
he found out someone was going to kill
the live turkey brought for the presidential
family’s Christmas dinner. Eventually Tad’s plea was admitted,
and the turkey’s life spared. Abraham Lincoln made
Thanksgiving an official
U.S. holiday in
1863.

A decade later
Rhode Island poultry dealer
Horace Vose starts sending Thanksgiving
and Christmas turkeys to the first families. Vose was the
White House’s unofficial turkey provider for more than
40 years after that first turkey to President
Ulysses S. Grant, but by 1914, Americans
from around the country were
sending live turkeys for
the holidays.

William Bradford’s
journal was discovered and published
by Sarah Josepha Hale, a magazine editor.
Hale was so taken with the story of that first Thanksgiving,
that she lobbied five U.S. presidents to make it a federal holiday.
Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving an official U.S. holiday,
an act he saw as a step toward reuniting the
fractured country after the Civil War.
He put it on the calendar for
the last Thursday
of November.

1941
December,
Franklin D. Roosevelt
changed Thanksgiving to the fourth
Thursday in November to avoid confusion
where there is a fifth Thursday in
November.

People
often incorrectly
date the official pardoning ceremony
back to 1947 with Harry Truman, a myth
that stems from the fact that the National Turkey Federation
which runs the modern presidential turkey pardon
ceremonies sent a president a turkey for the
first time that year. Truman
didn’t spare that bird’s life
he ate it.

Sunrise Dance and Moonlight Dreams

A blossoming evening,serene valleys,meadows and alleys
Cottages in distance twinkling little lanterne lights
Indigo moon peeping from blue black velevet skies
Sparkling diamonds dancing through the night
There i lay on fine grain crystals,in my own solitude
finding peace with myself, watching the spectacular view
of a shooting star in temporarily brilliance, crossing over,
acting like a little child, making a wish upon a star
just one wish,as i watched Ugin approaching me
sommersaulting on white puffed pillowed clouds
He had a globe in his hand,a globe where i could see my future
a globe in where my one only wish came through.
On that night i lay down on golden sands
a palm tree the only companion, supporting my back
caressing me with passion, embracing me to safety
All alone I was ,alone and free,in my long white cashmere dress
feeling the breezin of the wind waftin gently through my long brown hair,
breathin on my neck, kissing my left cheek, passing to my right
flowing under my dress, brushing my pink lips, swifting,in circular movements.
That was the night my fingertips found music once again,
on silver strings of a spanish guitar,as my bare feet played with coloured corals
There i was in my own stolen moments, the universe smiling at me,
the angels in radiant chariots flying over,as faries birthed life
and performed an orchestra of magical moments.
There I was gazing at the mediterranean waves in inward movements,
as sailing boats left the shore, reaching far away lands, finding new horizons.
There i remained,my thoughts not anchored anymore, rowing to the ends of the sea
living in waking dreams, smelling flowers in never ending gardens.
There I was,my journey accomplished ,singing the sweetest song of love.
There i lay between verses of awake and asleep, hearing birds tweeterin in trees
as I watched dawn cover dusk and it was sunrise.

The Merits of Fasting: Merry Ramazaan

Fasting cleanses both body and soul
It breaks you only to make you whole
Its spiritual connection plays a vital role.

Now not only the wearer knows the shoe pinches
for you get the chance to be in the needy's shoes
A whole month to forget those addictive binges
A chance to comprehend the poor man's cues.

Donot complain if your tummy's rumbling grumbling
for the poor man has always been thus starving
Feel his hunger, feel for him
and side by side give your weight a trim
Everybody wants to be so slim.

Many religions do prescribe it
The fasting one will describe it
If you have never done it
you might want to try it.

A month of fortitude, forbearance is a month of fasting
intended to impart a self-control and patience that's everlasting.

We all need ketosis to get rid of the lipids, fat stores
And researcher Google just told me that's what fasting ensures!

Craving for eatables the belly though may be raging
yet scientists have proved that produces a substance for anti-aging!

So if you are interested in a healthier, longer life span
come join me and fast away this month of Ramazaan.
It's time you understood God's health plan.

Researchers say the fasting person diverts energy
from the digestive system to the immune system!
Every wajibat has been proven good for both soul and body
Scroll even Google for yourself to thank the fasting dictum.

Fasting's a perfect way of bodily detoxification
Researchers say it's notable how fasting detoxifies each organ!

So come one come all, fasting can be for any creed
It lowers the BP and lowers the greed
as attention is diverted from the self to those in need.

I hope a month of NO food yet gives some food for thought
For a fasting from pondering should never be sought!

A Love Storye Story

Combining your names gives 'PEACEFUL NIGHT',
which is perfect combination showing both of your future bright,
All it starts because of school change,
Synonym of limitless is both of your love's range.
It was destined both of you to meet,
Both of you to each other perfectly fit.

Who say internet spoils life,
It also let a boy find his wife.
Facebook, g-talk, mail and whatsapp,
Talks were increased even forgetting their nap,
Both get know they are best together,
It was like a perfect buffer,

Understanding, then trust, and finally got to love,
Pure it was as a white dove.
Fate plays skit, Both getting all common moments,
Now question was to emotions, how to lament.
Finally on 15 jan 2013, in a fearful voice, low,
Boy shared everything with girl, and cupid left his bow.
All was secret, not to reveal,
As they will, uncomfortable feel,

Both were together like bones for muscle, body for soul,
Heart beats, blinking of eyes, even same was their poll..
Best period was from accepting each other from bestie to couple,
Time has in between played a lot buffle.
But all going straight doesn't have sense,
Sometimes situation even goes tense,
Their trust was challenged and fights were increased,
But all were short term soon they used to make peace...
Friends, Parents, Studies tried to come between them..
But the love was untouched and same.

Time had make them far, by distance, a lot times,
But the far they go, the near they come and now everything is fine..

Accompanying each others hand, today completing a year,
Was with each other in every smile and tear.
I guarantee, their love will last more further,
REALLY, BOTH OF MY BESTIES PROVED, TODAY THAT THEY ARE MADE FR EACH OTHER! ! ! ! !

Origamirror

a voice
has the choice to speak
into the pockets of wind which are parcel carriers
connecting the truth with whispers
heard on a deafening level
only overshadowed by silence
shaking loose the lies
sleeping in the crevices of the fraying veil
tattered in sounds of smiles sounding laughter
to tear open the tears that have damned up faith
leaping like a frog catching light
born from incubators in the veins of lily pads
padding pillow tops underneath narcoleptic dreams
envisioning a visage of voluptuous vaults
protecting gemstones donated by gravity
in a tail spin
spinning tales to be told
at a dinner party hosted by the sun and the moon
gathering gratitude with a net made of stars
caressing composure courageously
with hearts beating in synchronized stares
staring into eyes worn by your energy
that has been an architect for our ancestors
since an apparatus was designed to authenticate
inspiration used to create and validate
reasons to change like the seasons
seasoning the hourglasses recycling time
tripping over lay lines beginning to sway
like the song fermenting in the clouds still yet to rain
so let go of the reins
there's no sense in trying to control
reflecting directions reflectively directed
by reflections that direct a reflected directive
able to reflect inner directives
balancing the compass
leading to compassion
so blossom and pass on in
don't forget to remember landmarks
marking the lightyears you've traveled
aging with grace given by the ripples of righteousness
nestling the words i was chosen to write

for us

The New Kids On the Block Revised

Those kids--some of us has those kids we praise and we thank God for that's the way we were raise.but then on the other hand some has those we cant stand.and then again on the other shoe are those kids that were born without a clue /.then we have to share a hug for those poor ones strung out on drugs, and i only think its fair to mention that group that just dont care, but regaurdless of what road they walk, we as parents must take some fault..

                                                      ( cause we remember )
                      .
playin marbles and hide -n- go seek .hanging out all night playin tag in the streets.mom would have to yell its time to come in ,and you hated to say good nite to all yours friends. but time has changed oh! how it did,and it really took a hold on this generations of kids. because they dont even abide by the rules, hell half of them wont even finish school. tryin to grow way before their time ,and most wont even reach their prime.but we lived our lives ,so let them live theirs, cause the more we pray the less they'll care...
                                            ( well )
we came up before this generation X , we were tought to have respect, and even though our kids are the aftermath .we stood up and walked a different path, but for these kids it's all about the name . and i geuss we must hold ouselves to blame.what i really trying to say ,is
that it's a little too late for sorrows..we might have laid the fondation of yesterday , but they are the biulders of tomorrow

"Love is a star that comes unbidden."

                                            Quote by_ Constance

The stars above are a blanket of diamonds in the night,
      like candles flickering in the wind;
God's beautiful lanterne shining and winking,
like a thousand heavenly eyes watching me.
A celestial orchestra of movement and beauty above,
      a harmonious melody soothing;
swaying and drifting, swirling, twinkling,
like a ballet to a tune only the stars can hear.

I wish that I could reach out and touch the stars above me,
      though, I know in reality they are far away;
they seem so close in the night sky blinking,
oh, to cradle one like a precious gem from heaven.
I smell the thick, sweet smell of honeysuckles in the air,
     and the smell of rain that is coming soon;
as a thousand shining eyes from above blink again,
the smells of the night wrap around me with warmth.

Are the stars heavenly guides in that speckled dome,
     our loved ones gone but watching us;
I taste my tears as I whisper 'love you forever',
and those pinpricks of light nod back to me from above.
Pearls of beauty like scattered moondust in the night,
      moving fluid and graceful like a willow swaying;
like kisses of love from heaven in the night,
I would like to set sail among those stars above.
