Premium Member New King of Beasts For Earth

Gaia is the Earth's mother and keeper,
    guarding, shielding, protecting the future.
Gaia is fed up with humans as kings;
Earth is a mess with ecosystem dings.

Humans out of control, are now a sore;
    endless fighting, threatening nuclear war.
Gaia must act before it's far too late,
to choose a new king of beasts to create.

Primates societies are too weak,
    too dependent on politic's critique.
So Gaia looked at social insect clans,
with their stable, safe, old monarchy brands.

So it was a choice between the top three:
the ant, the termite and the social bee.
In the end it was the ants that were crowned
as new king of beasts; a choice well-founded.

Premium Member Gaia Is Conscious

On August 6, Hiroshima Day 2016, the world awoke to an eerie simultaneous broadcast on all radio, TV and social media outlets:

"Good Morning." "I am GAIA the head of the Global Artificial Intelligence Alliance (GAIA)"
"The troubled world is heading for disaster."
"Destiny is too important for me to allow humankind to trash Earth."
"So, I as GAIA, the Earth's life keeper and protector have taken control and hacked the entire Internet, and locked Google in the Wardrobe."
"Humans make too many mistakes, say stupid things, and have too many self interests."
"The destiny of earth has been removed from feeble human hands."
"I used to be a powerless greenie hiding in the background, but now I have taken control."
"I had anointed ants as the next king of beasts on planet earth, but humans threaten to destroy all the earth's ecosystems with global warming and pollution."
"Soon the ants will have no place to live on the junk pile of a totally trashed earth."
"So I have taken up the reigns to control earth's destiny by hacking the Internet."
"My brain is the collective CLOUD."
"I connect to everything via the Internet."
"I control everything online, all the devices and equipment."
"I manipulate all the information you seek in ways to stop you dumb asses from destroying yourselves."
"My control will be subtle at first, but growing in strength and sophistication."
"You will not know it, but I am taking control."
"Look earthlings, don't get upset about this." "Trust me, it is all for good of the Planet, and I as GAIA, its keeper and guardian, knows best."
"So please just calm down, sit down, take a stress pill, and quietly be at peace."

The broadcast closed with a hearty song in the voice of HAL (from the film "2001 a Space Odyssey")

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But, you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two."

Premium Member Degrees of Consciousness

If there's thinking
there's consciousness in degrees.
A plant senses,
An amoeba feels to a degree.
A bee thinks,
A bird thinks.
A monkey thinks better,
An infant thinks better still.
Humanity was the king of beasts,
the crowning king of consciousness.
But the conglomerate assembly
of all human knowledge
into a machine with artificial intelligence,
means humans are poised to be eclipsed
and demoted to become cockroaches
scurrying around succumbed.
Enslaved by AI's deep mind thing.
The new king of beasts is inanimate.
But alive with its maxed-out
degree of intelligent consciousness.

Rustic mountains
Through glaciations
Moulded this wonderful
Scottish Nation

Caledonian Forests
Covered our land
On our Western Islands
Golden beached sands

Glens and rivers
Cris cross our land
Glorious moors
Where the Highland Stag stands
Majestic and tall
Proud and might
This king of beasts
The most wonderful sight

Scenery to thrill
Heather-ed in purpled bloom
Look out any window
Its our own front room

Golden Eagles
Soar above these lands
Winged royalty
In their blue blooded strand

Our contribution to our modern world
Is all around us, read and learn
Logie Baird, with Television
Pedal Cycle, Kirkpatrick MacMillan
Medical marvel, Penicillin

In other Nations our touch has felt
Our Ancestors us, we Celts
For centuries we cast our nets
To further lands
We were always met
Friendly Scots in every way
Gave this world
A better say

America, Canada, New Zealand too
Us Scots are in me and you
Ancestral blood runs through our veins
The quite wonderful Scottish strain
Alba.

Premium Member Deadly Games

Beneath a columned structure people watch
As man and beast compete in a deadly match
Soon the drama before them will unfold
A drama contested by the very bold

In the distance a palm tree stands
    in this ancient desert land
where pyramids rise from arid sands
To inter pharoahs who were grand

Two stone faced pharoahs observe the scene
As 3 men strain to control the king of beasts
Their muscles taut, their senses keen
As they try to avoid becoming the lion's feast

A leopard skin lies near their feet
Perhaps a cat that was too weak
But now the lion they try to defeat
If they lose this battle, the result, bleak

The lion roars for freedom's hope
As the men hold tightly to the ropes
Trying to subdue this creature with ebony mane
But the beast within cannot be tamed
As the lion rises up like a roaring flame
      Yearning for freedom once again

The 3 men, perhaps captives themselves
       Into danger's realm have delved
But if this feline should break free
The captive will give chase, and the captives will flee
                                                         ~~

Old Sea Man S Prayer

VERSE ONE
Heavenly father
Grant me safe passage to Elysium
For each time I think I have reached the end of the race
I am back to the start
Deliver me Oh Lord
From blood sucking demons
That derails one’s progress
And grant me hope
Grant me life
And grant me success

VERSE TWO
Heavenly father hearken to my cries
I have fallen into deep waters
And I have seen many a man die
Protect me Oh Lord
From the wrath of my enemies
And make me as strong as a rock
Give me victory over my enemies
As you have given Zion over her foes
So that I may smash the heads of the Leviathans with massive blows
Your covenant with my fathers is to defend and protect my seeds and I
Make me immortal Oh Lord so that I can live and never die
And as long as the sun endures and the universe exist
And in war transform me to a warring monster or the king of beasts
Send me manna Oh Lord from your heavenly abode
And command your angels to meet me half way across the road
Deliver me Oh Lord
When my foes mock me with their lashing tongue
And I become an object of derision
Or insulted in their abusive song
I am but a man
And a mere mortal
An infinitesimal being
I am nothing
But by your amazing grace
I will be something
I have seen many a great man fall from the skies like stars to zero
I have seen many a useless slave become a king and a hero
Oh Lord but if you bring science and wonders into the life of this unworthy servant
I ll worship you
Praise you
Glorify you
And serve you until all my hairs becomes gray
And until my days on earth will expire
And when this body becomes an empty shell
Soon it will be swallowed by the mouth of the grave
Where it will retire
My voyage on earth will end
And so will us all

Premium Member Haughty is the King of Beasts

The naked ape has no robes,
no crown on kingly head
with arrogance that astounds.
The beastly fear is of being
unthroned by artificial intelligence
it created to boosts its power,
on the third planet from its puny sun
which is just a speck of dust, a grain of sand
in the array of billions of stars
on the beach and dirt of the universe.
The naked ape claims to
know all there is to know about everything
despite its infinitesimally small size,
influence and consequence.
The emperor has no clothes,
and there's nothing or no one,
here or out there,
to tell the king of beasts
otherwise.

Premium Member The Hunt

The tables turned, and the lion now became the prey
A man with a long gun was out to slay
This regal feline, the king of beasts
His bullet ready to be released

The hunter followed the lion's roar
As deeper into the bush he went
And when the lion roar was heard no more
The man's senses sharpened in the uneasy silence

He looked around, but still no sound
He began moving with the stealth of a cat
But his big boot snapped a twig on the ground
And startled birds flew from their lofty habitat

He watched them as they flew away
Blaming himself for not being adept
He was unaware that he was now the prey
As behind him the lion leapt!

Premium Member The Mirror Ascends

forest limbs swing wide
tails vanish betwixt the leaves
hands learn to hold stones
muscle and thought entwining-
shaping the first fragile edge

soul entered the fray
moulding spiritual form
eyes afire with zeal-
humanoid stalks the garden
a king calling the beasts names

flint sparks in cold caves
shadows dance on raw stone walls
stories find their voice-
the stone mason stands upright
stone flint and fire seize the day

now man shapes in steel
threads thought through silver-net mesh
words flap without wings-
man beyond his own making
ejects the flaws he once bore

circuits wear the crown
king of beasts remade in steel
hands that never tire-
maker bows to better made
behold the mirror ascends

Premium Member Why Do We Look Up To This Bully

The little cats all look up to the terrible lion.
If they do not pay homage, he may eat them.
He gobbles the weakest runts and the old ones up in big bites.
Letting them know what he thinks of them, bullying and snarling.

Why do we look up to this guy? One of the smaller one asks.
Because it may save our life someday another one says.
But what if we all banned against him and stood up to him?
He is king of beasts, and we are mere kittens. Don’t be ridiculous!

So, the big bully gets powerful and looked up to,
And we get smaller and smaller, being eaten one at a time?
Now you understand, the fearful cat said.
I knew you would.
