The year 2000's on the way
The new millennium's almost here
To write January 1, 2000 will be weird
Star Trek's beam me up Scottie was
A far out idea
But now the space shuttle goes up
Several times a year
The crew of seven went up that day
(don't look up to watch it burn)
they had no fear, now their view from heaven
Is crystal clear
When January 1 comes will
My computer freeze?
Will I get my money from the
ATM with the greatest of ease?
Did I store any staples and canned
Goods to keep my mind at ease?
Will I be able to trade in the
Stock market as I please?

Yankee-two-kilo
Calling all earthlings!
Come aboard
The space center on the moon is
Ready (it has so much more
More than you'd ever imagined before)
Don't look back to watch it burn
who knew
sounds like YOU
bravo romeo
you’re at the hotel
whiskey at the bar
and papas doing well
he played two rounds
and his echo said tell
juliet his sweet
that an oscar cost a mill
....get dressed
almost time for the ball
the mr.mc.melon
made a million dollar call
Yankee doodled a candy
November is handy
for remembering
to give our thanks
Fox trotted to the bank
and booked a flight
x-ray vision
wants to dance tonight
charlie says to victor
“i knew she could hear”
just slow to bet
she is a sweet
my dear
i do
i owe you
one kilo
“horse knows the way
to carry a sleigh so it's
off to the 'hood, we go”
the delta is wet
there are beans
in a net
and a play...
is what she swings
;) x.wings.
.
~just for fun
i like to dance
Form:
I sit watching the news
with tea in hand.
Surplus food. And I despair.
Man-made hunger: ribs like xylophones, crushed.
Reaching for food, they are fed bullets.
A child, just looking for bread.
Warnings that neither warn nor miss.
A kilo of flour costs a life.
Doctors die—from hunger, or from trying to feed it.
Humanity: misplaced.
This is what grief has carved into the world.
Overcrowded. Airless. No refuge.
Aid centres that don’t aid.
The dead don’t get labelled.
Food rots at the border while the world watches.
Months of meals sit still.
A ceasefire whispers.
A spine: a skeleton curled like a fetus.
Mother made family made famine.
Hate is inherited, spoon-fed to children with dust and grief.
And I sip my tea.
It tastes like shame.
But hunger is louder—
and one voice raised
might ignite others.
WONDER IF HEAVEN'S GOT A GHETTO
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto,
Where sinners & saints mellow,
And unite with shinning hallow.
The street glows golden yellow
As we pray more grease to our elbow.
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto,
Where a villian turns a hero
And becomes a new fellow.
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto
Where sinners & saints mellow.¹°
Death's short notice served it's memo.
The slained welcomes a fellow,
And the stained does same; ditto.
To the golden gate, they trove into.
Seated in a haven above below,
Their faces shines bright like an Albino,
Setting the sanctuary aglow,
Peering through Heaven's window.
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto.
The old world detain'd incommunicado,²°
Having being in limbo,
They reminisce their deathblow,
The taste of their cappuccino,
Serenized inside their luxurious limo.
But their life's dips in each Kilo,
Their highs began to feel low
And inexplicably downthrow.
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto;
Walking past the road that's narrow,
Swerving past the daunting arrow,³°
Shaded-off the shrouded shadow,
In order to escape the deep shallow.
Wonder if Heaven's got a ghetto??

Whilst Jon-Allan was out Iraq to warfare ban,
In 2007 he sustained an injury, rocket attack,
So that doctors had to amputate his left arm,
But after rehab he continued the sport’s crack.
He’d been a weapons technician in the RAF,
At Basra airbase, and before that Afghanistan,
But he was now on a programme so to quaff,
Any idea that he wasn’t good at cycling’s pun.
He took the limelight at the London games,
When he won three silvers for para-cycling:
One for the C5 Individual Pursuit, sole aims,
One for the mixed team sprint very cunning,
And another silver for the C4-5 1km Time Trial!
Then 2016, and he won gold for the mixed team,
And also a silver medal for the C5 kilo Time Trial
In Montichiari, and so made the Rio GB Team.
Sex in the air
The mirror is over there
Don't lose the razor blade
Take a line or bump babe
All your fears will fade
Snort, sniff, lick, anyway you want
Feeling sexy & superhuman
Business for the connection is boomin!
Never been this anxious
Paranoia makes me suspicious
Injection is not suggested
Euphoria is the feeling manifested
Addiction has to be said
It's not a problem if I can't find it
If it comes near me I'll find it
Snort, sniff or lick
Line, bump or rail
Hits the sweet spot without fail
Living fast and loose is a rocky road
Debt piles up in f*ck loads
Where did all that money go?
High as a kite and never felt so low
Powder, snow, coke or blow
By the gram, 8 ball, or kilo
Laying out lines in rows
Always ready to go
This is kinda like an Ode
Self-destruction and no where to go
One minute u r up & next u r down
When u r at ur peak
U can hear every sound
Wisdom isn't what u seak
Ur next fix is what u crave
Family is something u should try to keep
Money is something u should save
Eyes of ur loved ones should never weep
Addiction should be pushed away
Hopefully, it's ur soul that u keep
I look at the green crocodile balls placed in handcrafted bamboo basket
They look ripe and tempting.
The snake skinned vendor looks at me with hopeful eyes
His turtle legs skin with every vein visible is a testimony of many days of hunger
He wears a wrinkled robe of silk over them
His brahminy blindsnake skin glistens in sun
An amazing will power to survive despite odds keeps him going.
I know he will gladly give me a huge discount for his meager earnings determines his dinner
Filled with pity, I buy a kilo and hand over a thousand rupee note to him
He looks at me puzzled
"I don't have change for such a big amount"
"Keep the change", I say
He flatly refuses
"I will have only what I earn
I am not a beggar
I will get change from nearby shop"
"You give me whole basket", I respond
He displays his moony teeth
His face gleams in joy
I am reminded of full moon night
He quickly packs my fruits
offers free home delivery
I lack strength despite good food
He is strong despite hunger
I feel sad and depressed at times
He inspires life is meant for living happily with smile in face
As I walk back home
I resolve to be happy
I have no right to be sad!

For Emile Pinet imagism contest
For twenty years of nearly happy married life
he heard the harping voice of high decibel wife,
and in the process lost half of his hearing sense,
the other half now gets tense in wife’s presence.
He wouldn’t start any conversation with her ever,
for over the years the ears have become clever.
They have learnt to save the strained ear drums
from the cracking sound of wife’s vocal drums.
She once asked him to buy a kilo of tiny potato.
He rushed to the shop, bought a bag of ripe tomato.
When he found himself flushed in a hot soup bowl
the failed ears silently fanned his head to console.
When I go shopping there are some things I no longer must contemplate,
Like the price per kilo of most foods,
Or the number of sausages in a packet.
I can avoid the nappy isle,
The teenage beauty products,
School supplies isle,
And I no longer have to include the price of a pair of shoes,
In my monthly budget.
I am back to knowing what I will be paying for before I get to the counter,
All without a calculator.
I can walk to the shops again,
With no dissenting sleepy voices to,
Outvote me,
Or overload me.
Our petrol bill is down,
The veggie garden is more than just weeds,
We no longer get threatening letters from the power company,
And our internet use is down.
I know it won't last,
As there is a one in three chance,
That there will be grandchildren on the horizon,
To pull at our heartstrings,
Empty our wallets,
Yet never quite drying up our well of patience.
But in the meantime, all I must worry about when I go shopping,
Is can we eat all the food before it goes off,
And did we lock the door before we left.
Ingredients
Set the scales from oz to grams
Don’t forget the rag jam
You also need ½ kilo crystal white
½ kilo self raising light
8 eggs from the chicks mother
3 tubs of butter
½ kilo white ice
Makes the cream taste nice
Preparations
Gently break the seal of the crystal white
Stire in the self raising light
Add eggs and two tubs of butter
Plonk them don't flutter
Whisk until fluffy and light
Use the wrist to get it right
Place in oven until hard and swelled
First you got to grease two tins well
With two fingers you got to work it in
So It’s wet right to the rim
Then spread in the mix
Bake in 30 minutes
Once baked leave to cool
Face down’s a good tip for you
Overturn the tins and squeeze the bottom up in
Make sure you got no sticky mix on the rim
Mix the last butter with the icewhite
Fork it up real nice
Now you got the cream
To spread with the jam inbetween
Spread the jam evenly over the bottom and cream on the top
Put together and a sponge is what you got
