A rising tide lifts all boats yet not all enjoy the lift.
Some boats are in fact useless, abandoned
On the shore, and the tide only bringing more woe
Showing just how broken and hollow
They have become.
And in a world of such abundance
The shores clutter with such abandon
Lining streets and alleys, parks and plazas
Waiting for something vague and ill-defined
Hands out in passive supplication.
Last week the masses protested No Kings
And this they beg their masters
For the food they haven’t bothered to earn
Or save, unaware they are the victims
Of nothing but their own karmas.
Beggars rely upon the generosity of strangers
Or the redistribution of wealth
By the powers that be
Who steal for them
To keep the peace.
A master may beg as well, but being wise
With gratitude and equanimity
Knows it’s all good, but only for a moment.
While the fool views it all with a grasping mind
Thinking it will last forever.
Beggars, thieves and fools mix and mingle
In the marketplace, sometimes all in one,
But more often in different forms and roles.
Sharp and shiny suits or soiled and tattered rags
Are no proof of who is who.
(10/29/25)
There’s no tears left to cry,
All you did was cheat and lie,
Left me broken at the door,
My heart left ripped and tour,
You thought you broke me,
And i just couldn’t see,
How badly you beat me,
and how you abused my body,
Although time helps and heals,
I now no how it feels, to truly suffer,
At the hands of my lover,
The burden i carry to fear another,
Now I have freed myself from you,
It’s easy to see what was truly true,
I was never good enough, you made do,
I wish that i knew, or even had a clue,
All i did was love you, I’m such a fool,
You were a monster, who was so cruel,
You punished me for wanting you,
You said our love was meant to be true,
You left me shattered on the floor,
Discarded, just like a cheap whore,
Unable to face this world anymore,
Unable to find anything to live for,
Your torture was addictive,
But It was the attention i needed,
So i tried and tried to get my fix of it,
Now i see you were such a hypocrite,
My heart beated with belief in you,
I deeply desired this love so true,
The pain deep inside is still raw,
It lingers on in my every pour,
But you cannot win this war,
Ive ended it and slammed that door,
You will not scare me as you did before,
You will end up alone forever more,
You taught me so much its true,
I’m a better person because of you,
So for that i must say thank you,
Im confident you’ll get karmas due,
You stole my identity, who i was, its true,
I became a shell of the girl i once knew,
I have survived your torturous games,
And endured all your inflicted pains
I survived i am not your victim,
Cursed by your vindictive criticism,
This fight is far from being done,
However my new life has just begun.
He is my role model
His life, an inspiration to me
Did some research on him
Since then am in awe of him
Empath at heart,
he dedicated his life in selfless service
Saw teeming millions without dress
Wore a simple dothi like them
Wherever he found people suffering
Took up their cause, fought for justice
Knew scriptures well, was therefore
always good in words, deeds and action
Was aware we are accounted for our karmas
Would not sin whatever may happen
Britishers beat him, jailed him
He never did tit for tat
Was against partition, knew its effects
Advised others to reject it
Power hungry politicians did not hear
Its consequences stand before us
When India gained independence
Nehru invited him to attend the ceremony
He refused saying how can I celebrate
When my brother's and sisters are suffering
During post partition communal riots
He walked bare foot all over country,
helping all, rquesting them to maintain
peace and communal harmony
He was firm in his beliefs
Practicing what he preached
All his movements like swadeshi,
abolition of untouchability,
salt satyagraha were for masses
If all became like him, nonviolent,
selfless, and worked for the
betterment of everyone around
world would become a better place to live

(“Meaning of Life Merit Badge”, 2010, original oil)
The Dismal Science and the Meaning of Life
Supply and demand is as basic and Nobel a
Truth
As you can get.
If you doubt, just hold your breath a minute
And notice the urgency that quickly builds.
Somehow in man’s quest for meaning
Aka the creation of religion, or “dharma”,
The sacred and the secular
Became divided into the pure and tainted.
To this day too many religious people dismiss
The need to study economic truths
As too profane
Beneath their lofty ideals and pure aspiration.
What they’re really saying is they want to avoid
The messy complexities of human desire
And the limits of this material world; ie.
The market place of actually being human.
So whole institutions arose to encourage this escape
Clergy in their cloisters, hermits with their hermetics
A class above, in ivory tower, and lonely cave
So the worries of this world could be left behind.
But this world of woe and constant sorrow
Is also the world of perfect attainment
Where our karmas always ripen
And wishes sometimes do come true.
What other world
Could these human experiences of ups and downs
Happen in anyway,
Since this is our world and our experience?
If you give a moose a muffin
They will always ask you for another.
And on and on
Until there is no supply left to meet demand.
But the question becomes
Did increasing demand lead to increasing satisfaction
As the supplies dwindled and costs rose?
Most likely it was the opposite.
Because with every acquisition
Comes the building of a habit
Until what is left is an insatiable addiction.
If you doubt, just hold your breath for a minute…

You talked the talk, you walked the walk
you also played with fire
Now you’re gone, I’m moving on
setting flames to the liar
You did me wrong, so I sing this song
Revenge it is so sweet
I’ll stack the wood, cause you got me good
Now your gonna feel the heat
[Chorus]
Your gonna burn burn burn
the tables have turned turned turned
yeh your gonna burn burn burn
You played with fire
your such a liar
ooohhh you played with fire fire fire
Your time has come, you haven’t won
talk is really cheap
Karmas now here, & hell is so near
you’ll burn to a charcoal heap
You fooled me once, you played me twice
was always a roll of the dice
There’s no way out, don’t bother to shout
you’re trapped in your own evil vice
[Chorus]
Your gonna burn burn burn
the tables have turned turned turned
yeh your gonna burn burn burn
Ooohhh yeh you played with Fire fire fire
ooohhh yeh your such a liar liar liar
I shouldn’t have stayed, you shouldn’t have played
but now it is my turn
Your days are done, destroying fun
& now your gonna burn
[Chorus]
Your gonna burn burn burn
the tables have turned turned turned
yeh your gonna burn burn burn
You played with fire
your such a liar
ooohhh you played with fire fire fire
Your gonna burn burn burn
It’s a fine line you see between pleasure and pain…
And I will make it my pleasure to drive you insane.
The time has come to put put things right…
All your wrong doings will now come to light.
The truth will reveal as it always does tell…
Now your own rewards will be three times the spell.
Karma has come and it’s time to pay…
You’ve upset the wrong person, now it’s my turn to play.
Who can tell the payment rate?
Your deeds of wrong, the risks you take.
Whether it’s good or bad it's the choices you made…
Maybe you’ll be rewarded or maybe you’ll be afraid?
You should s always put out what you would like to come back…
Because one day for sure Karma’s waiting to attack!
So think real hard before you act…
Because when you least expect it…KARMA’S BACK!
The Asian version of Life
Is of a wheel that endlessly spins
Rotating in kaleidoscopic scenes
Of beings in realms
Trapped by their karmas in endless suffering
Endless until it, of course, ends
Which is what all things must eventually do.
In the West the dominant view is now
Of an endless cycle of Life
Where we don’t actually become anything
After we die, just a nutritional building block
In the ecological web of growth and decay.
It’s a rational seeming world view,
But one devoid of soul.
On the whole these two views compliment
And complete each other;
Soulful and soulless
To give a sense of life on the wheel.
But the truth is neither are complete,
Together or alone
Because neither sees what lies beyond the wheel.
Of course, they say eternity and annihilation respectively
But what is the it that endures or dissolves?
And if it endures was it ever really trapped?
And if it dissolves was it ever really existent?
Somewhere between is the middle way
Free of extremes and labels,
Free to simply be, what is, inherently ineffable.
(10/12/25)
Ever wondered why some are happy others sad?
Some are rich others poor?
Why their is so much disparity in the world?
Why some sin and get away?
While others are punished for no fault?
Law of Karma is the reason behind this!
Our Karma or deeds shape our destiny.
Acts of not only this, but previous births too count.
That is the reason why all this happens.
That is precisely the reason why we should work without thinking of results,
Without any desires, any expectations.
Destiny is shaped by accumulated Karma,
So it is essential that we do good deeds,
Otherwise we will suffer,
If not in this birth, definitely in next.
Don't think you will die,
Body dies but soul remains,
We all live birth after birth
until we get salvation.
When our bad deeds end,
We are automatically liberated.
