I slid the slider to my art studio with cautious optimism,
Hoping to find my brushes and glitter and paint and glue
Somewhere close to where I had left them last night.

The bright pink paint I had specifically placed front and center was missing.
Let us not jump to conclusions, my socialized mind said. Maybe it was not last night.
Maybe you put it there the night before last night.
We were not out here the night before, my dendrites argued after they had connected last night’s thinking.

My paint water was in its usual place. My brushes were where I had left them.
I usually use thirty to forty brushes a day, so there is no way to tell if they had been moved or were missing.
Everything else appeared to be exactly as it was yesterday.
I immediately began convincing myself that I must have moved that neon leather paint at the last second before turning and shutting the slider.

Faeries and elves do not paint in here I argued.
That is absurd and realistically unsound. Right?
But what if they do move the paint, dancing and twirling through it? Creating new magic with their little ballerina shoes?
What if they come in here and slide across the canvases, dropping glitter and enhancing my stuff?
What if they are like the shoemaker elves, fixing my mistakes in the middle of the night?

Thinking I had heard a tiny little patter of a faerie foot, I turned and looked at my art table.
Whereby sat the hot pink neon paint that was not there a moment before.
What if?

Premium Member Ode To These Three Damsels

What young damsels strive to make us safe in our home?
It's Bondi and Gabard and Ms. Kristi Noem.

Barbie Bondi's sleek tresses; vanilla chrome
The fair AG's brilliance dims not in twilight's gloam.

Our femme fatale Merlin makes grave crimes disappear
So many rich predators have zero to fear.

Staunch Telsi Gabbard, raven hair silver streaked
Cloak and dagger quirky devilry so readily leaked.

Your boss barks jump, and you jump to conclusions
Giving credence to all his cruel twisted delusions.

To DHS ICE Queen, Ms. Kristi Noem I shower elation
For her fashionista elan and prevarication.

You stir up our basest instincts, Ms. Noem
So to you I grudgingly dedicate my poem.

He was sure he'd put his cylopedia on his chair.
His wife's photo had been over the stair.
But his book was in the tub, gave him a spasm
The photo was torn, and the book open to "org!!!".

His best friend wouldn't answer his calls.
He tried to ask why, found invisible walls.
There were rumors online, rumors in the street
He suspected a flame behind the heat.

After Deutschland unified, Stasi files confirmed.
It had been a plot, the whole story he learned.
Rumors were spread, and objects rearranged
The problem hadn't been that he was deranged.

This also happens when criminals extorted
the victim not exaggerating, no matter what reported.
deliveries vanished, vandals, broken windows
not just bad luck, not just the way it goes.

Small acts get less attention than major crime.
Victims learn not to report every time.
There's no point when perps can plausibly deny
And if you can't get help, why bother to try?

You might be sure you didn't park on the curb
You might be nervous, after your fifth dead bird.
You might interpret all sorts of things in your path
When skeptics quite rightly, give a scornful laugh.

But then again, we know it has happened before
That the victim knows what's happening, but others ignore.
I've been there, and I've felt the pain
It takes background, to be able to explain.

I drank unsuspecting, drink had an aphrodisiac
I staggered through the streets, couldn't prove the attack
I was desperate for sleep, a stimulant in my brain
Couldn't knock on a random door, no shelter from this rain.

I claim I don't have a paranoid mind
I do jump to conclusions, but can leave them behind
When science is perverted, gaslighting gets a boost
And bad guys have another tool to rule the roost.

But how can any victim know when this is true?
Sometimes is just sheer volume, that breaks through
Sometimes no witnesses, sometimes effects are inside,
So between the victim and his audience an impassible divide.

On the Holiday Throne

This miserable old fat man
should step down and bow out
As he forgot what image he represents
Throw him out in the waste can
As his attitude is not what it's all about.

When representing The jolly old man
and the love and compassion he shares.
It takes an open mind and tender heart.
As Santa has a loving and kind reputation.
Children wait all year long to sit in his chair.

No child should ever be shunned or rejected
Especially by people thought to have authority .
Which Santa is someone kids look up to.
A moment of his time and smile in expected
by all wanting to believe in his legend and story .

Santa himself has reindeer for his pets.
He loves and enjoys all living things
He does not judge from public opinions.
or jump to conclusions and have regrets.
As we know from the song the kids sing.

So if you plan to sit on the Holiday throne
Then think of the children you are going to greet
They have wide eyes and high hopes and trust
They are all different and may be alone
but want to be accepted by people they meet.

Premium Member God Wants His Hat Back

Is there anything so excruciatingly exhausting
As to feel the need to look at everything
Through judgmental eyes

No background or context
Barely half the info
Yet so quick to jump to conclusions
Always quick to pass judgment

As if holding all the cards and criteria
Seeking perfection everywhere
How arrogant and pretentious
Like trying to wear God’s hat

I once said the worst thing
I could imagine was to see
Someone imprisoned for a crime
They did not commit

Am I so stupid to not realize
I am guilty everyday of doing
Exactly that in a million little ways
Over and over again
Of doing the worst crime I have imagined

That I am judging and sentencing
Without hearing all facts…
And even if I did hear all the facts
Who died and made me almighty judge?
And anyway…
What’s with this overwhelming urge
Needing to quickly evaluate and judge
Possibly born of some caveman instinct
To protect oneself from imminent dangers
If so, it’s way beyond that and outdated
Not only ineffective but destructive
Become much the enemy within
Blackening my heart with every cynical thought
Separating me from everything that surrounds
Isolating me empty of compassion or empathy
Whatever happened to a little bit of humility
And admitting that none of it concerns me
It is what it is good bad or indifferent

God just called
He wants his hat back

Take Me

They played reverse psychology with his mind
He felt so stupid
Like everything he had ever believed was a lie
The auras are bad, we continued to say
They are not good
Test the spirits…test the spirits
He went haywire
He pushed away
How could we blame him?
His body was not his own
Come to grips, we told him
The doctors don’t understand
But still we must not jump to conclusions
You are strong; you have God
The upper hand

If I lift this bed will you think otherwise?

Lift the entire world and I will see nothing of you
You are nobody compared to him in my eyes
Your wonders are for wonderment alone
You wander and then you stay

You prey prey prey
Those that prey desire nourishment
Those who prey lack strength
And to grab onto the youngest
Mistaking him for stupid and weak
That is below everything unworthy
That is just pathetic

Whatever you are
 You are not him
And surely not worthy of a line of acknowledgement

You hurt my closest friend
And it is on
You will be the reason
The fire of my claws flare
You will be the very thing I will devour

It preyed on his innocence
It made itself his friend
Acting the hero
Burning him to nothing in the end

Come to grips, we said
No more writing
No more imagination
The auras are not good

He is not good!
Laura is not good!
Life life life is not good!

You prey on a sick, young boy
You are messing with a demon like me!
I will tear you to shreds for the next flaw you set fire to!
Believe me I will hide more under the timbers
And I will crawl out
Spewing perversity and hate
And drag you in with me
True colors will surround you

I realize you have the power
To kill my loved one
I stake alone
I hand the burning torch to you

And with fire surrounding me
I spit and hiss

Take me
Take me instead
I know you want all
And all live in me

You cannot turn down my offer
Become me
And I will destroy me
