If all is of mind, then what are we doing?
Physical life, is it worth pursuing?
So discouraging, so immature,
How can mere man, ever endure?
The mind can think in such jubilations,
Creative thoughts giving sensations.
We rush to create, with no time to spare,
No patience displayed; we do not dare.
Take our time, uncertain as it seems,
Let thoughts mature manifesting our dreams.
For surely the timing is part of perfection,
A thing in its time finds no rejection.
Live in the moment, this time is just right,
To be who you are, bring others to light.
Each moment is filled with all that we need,
Sometimes we’re a blossom, sometimes a seed.
The joy is in sharing, however we can
A smile, a hug, or a comforting hand
Give unto others, you’ll surely receive
God’s blessings of Love if you only believe.
Riverwalk
Sitting by the Riverwalk it's like
a park
People come to this place in our hometown
to eat drink and gaze at the water's edge
or come for private thoughts
so now my destination!
My tears flowed with anticipation !
as I sit on the edge of the bank gazing up
The scenery is amazing the morning beautiful!
People everywhere!
Friendships loaded with jubilations anticipation tones
swoon by the light of a new day with elations
Summertime breezes upon the cheek
very sweet
But in the winter cold fragile heat
Hard to understand turmoil toils
who rules the tunes
who rules the beat
Knowledge is burning to Speak!
Even when we understand not what?
faith to faith evidence
See the forest for the trees? no!
What we do know is that
April showers bring May flowers even when it's cloudy
And in December must we freeze in frigid winds am
not trying to boast about winter cold or summertime heat
which is better which is worse because we know
June comes before July summertime August is the hottest
So in any kind of weather may my mind calm down
dance tapping tones
swoon the waltz style out loud
beats the Black Belt complete
in victory not defeat
For we
trust truth mysteries from generation to generation
in quiet serenity and blessed Peace brings Joy
As we move our feet in our houses sometimes
we meet or greet each other maybe
around the corner in the mall, at the Riverwalk
In the street on the phone even a message
Dancing singing to our own melodic calls
and boldly we beat the drums for fun
by the river, we walked with the heart and the heat
and our feet and talked by the Riverwalk with others
its like a river park walk and talking!
You see only the triumphs and jubilations,
Sugbon what about the trials and tribulations?
Can a poet speak in wisdom and you'll understand?
Yep, on this apata(rock) of igneous I stand;
Sleepless nights of rhymes and creativity
Whether in places of chaos or serenity.
The bamboo pen does what it knows best,
Babanla kayeefi that You wanna put it to test;
Teti ki o gbomi, I flow without restrictions,
every word of mine perfumed with distinctions.
The strength of Soyinka, might of Shakespeare,
Oratory elegance of Sheikh Arazeem Alaaya-
Are reasons my pen flames like a blazing fire;
From Ilorin to Lagos, Denver to Houston,
Awon temi n fi poem mi shey cushion!
Kayeefi nla that minnows wanna be like I,

The broken remains of a mountain climber
several thousand feet from precipitous peak,
nature had attempted a fair burial with snow,
but some parts remained exposed to air,
the right leg had crossed to protect the left,
in an attempt to shield it from cold and pain,
the life was slowly ebbing out of this valiant man,
his body carrying artefacts from home and love,
undiscovered he lay for 70 years, preserved
in the frozen cold of the everest. He fell to death
with his colleague who fell with him, whose
body still remains undiscovered.
His conquest of the peak will for ever remain
a mystery, whether the two young heroes of
past had scaled the Everest first!
The swirling wind and snow will never speak
to say- of the events on the day the two fell,
the pain they suffered and the mental anguish
of those who loved them,
they have quietly watched many such deaths,
amongst jubilations of a few who won,
the fickle nature of human attempts against
the might of nature’s awesome powers.
Many mountains hold the remains of such
champions who never returned home,
but from their abode in the snowy peaks
they have inspired generations of victorious
teams who have taken their flags to the top!
In every defeat is the seed of victories,
every victory has heartache of several
defeats!
Journeys of life have shades of both,
some may win and some may lose,
but in the eyes of the mountains that
hold them in their hearts, even the fallen,
are counted amongst the winners with courage.
THE DANCE POETIC (just a play with words, acrostic variation)
T tantalizing, titillating theater, transpires
H head-on, hesitating hovering hoopla,
E edging effortless extinguished expose' entities.
D Dancing dubious distinguished debonair devils;
A anxious actors awaiting attendant accompaniment,
N nuances neither needing necessity nor neglect,
C castigating casualites continual concordance,
E eager entangled entrance exiting each everyone.
P Pursue petulant possibilities presented passively
O on old odd occasions occupying oblivious obtuseness
E etching embers escaping easy exhibitions exiting
T the touch to trivial tickled trepidation touching tomorrow,
I inhibited inches indicate inklings incidental
C come charm, chance cascading co-mingling cognise coos.
Repeat and join the joyous jubilations of The Poetic Dance.
Beyond speech
Before the words
Even leave your lips
Thinking about thinking
Looking at your thoughts
I see the building blocks
Of your breaking down
It's noisy sound image
An abstract tree growing concepts
In a forest needing life
* Simeon wages its demise
Beyond the tip of your tongue
After supper, when the words
Have left your mouth
All your childhood questions
Still unanswered
It's branches are torn apart
Your tree positioned
Without arches pays a fee
To this living organism
For it's inorganic accretions
*Simeon wages it's demise
Beyond the after thought
Your prose has brought about
There's no going back
Past the Temple's entrance
No chugalugging in reverse
Like dead dogs guarding
White noise on a mountain
Jubilations and alleluias are
Revelations so gloriously bright
They hurt the eyes
*Simeon wages its demise
Beyond the pandemonium
Of your chitchat usage
On the far right of a good way off
Your thirty tongues
Those serpentine monsters
Are tangled in green homilies
No more conversations needed
Not listening but watching
Your gold watch a-tick tock ticking
It's running against time all-embracing
*Simeon wages its demise
Unsanctioned quiet
Never looks back
Too much said
Is always too late.
There are many words for frost
This is the house your words built
You might have lost your tongue altogether
Like blind passion without a mission
Not even your homing pigeon can
Any longer hear you out.
*Simeon wages its demise
Amidst the noisy world,
A unique character is bound,
Every creature has a sound,
A little moment shared, will find.
A day cold and drizzly,
Folks remain warm and sturdy,
Thin icy drops cheer their voice,
A dense squall amplifies the noise.
A rough buzz in the debate ground,
Eyes glued to the stand,
A diverging array of political discourse,
Convincingly, to retire the crowds’ doubts.
Cheers to whoever gifts the gab,
Some fellows are a conviction hub,
From thin air, they weave a narrative,
A magnetic tale, captivates even the brave.
A hard, engaging problem,
A simple mind game,
A peasant knows where to expect the most yield,
Conditions, inputs and efforts revealed.
The clock ticks, the dusk is near,
Eyes aghast, stomach butterflies in fear,
Cheers and jubilations crown the best,
Who knows what’s in mystery chest for the rest.
Leadership isn’t confined to a position,
Inability to win over crowd isn’t the end,
The courage to try is a sip of champagne,
Sit with the kings, wisdom ascends.
If peace is better why war ?
If love is better why hatred
If cold is better why khadighan
Life is cruel but human are more crueler
Class above humanity
Jealousy above compliment
Enviness above jubilations
Why thus thou thus
Why the sudden change
Interest of the world above care
Illegal above success
Why thus millions cry and few smile
Children suffering and old enjoying
Many sacred places and less hospitality
Looks above sacrifice
What changes human stereotype
Once upon a time is opposite
Silent over noise
Love over evil and hatred
Why was the sudden change
Earth crust change it's ways
Human lost his ways
Culture lost it's value
Nature lost it's dignity
Parents lost their authority
Leaders lost their power
Maestro lost his batting
The world need to go back to its previous ways
The Beach Boys are singing with the Royal Philharmonic
as I sit upon my balcony and sip my gin & tonic
The music plays, it draws me in, the sounds are getting louder
they transport me to sunny climes ~ the coast of California
I visualize the surfers as they race towards the sea
in their psychedelic shorts ~ to catch a wave ~ no guarantee
Full of great determination they seek the tallest wave
they catch their wave, they are so brave,
then cheer and shout, they soar so high
supreme and wild
they touch the sky
so full of excitations and joyous jubilations
they raise their arms in wondrous celebrations
The music deep inside my soul where is it taking me
I am setting sail upon a boat they named the ‘Sloop John B’
It sails from sunny Eastbourne to California by the sea
So ‘Wouldn’t it be Nice’ in ‘The Warmth of the Sun’
To ride in Daddy’s T-Bird having ‘Fun - Fun – Fun’
So will you ‘Help me Rhonda’ as my mind begins to wander
To experience ‘Good Vibrations’ and amazing excitations
Here in sunny Eastbourne paradise beneath my nose
I wonder how much time is left, of course ‘God only Knows’
So as I walk along the prom and hum a Beach Boys surfing song
I know for sure I’m meant to be beside the sea where I belong
Written July 2018
whilst listening to the wonderful summer songs of the Beach Boys and the Royal Philharmonic
and inspired again after seeing them perform yesterday 24th June 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall, London - wow they still have it....
