What was left within her? There was nothing ever spoke.
Did she mean anything to anyone or was her life just a joke?
She wasn't laughing, she was crying tears too big to shed
The wounds continued bleeding and infection seemed to spread.
She knew that she wouldn't make it, she knew that she would die
For years she'd been in this place there was no one to reply.
Words are like arrows and sometimes pierce us to the core
They're thrown around haphazardly and then they throw some more.
To this prisoner of silence, alone in her cell,
A word of life could do so much, it could change her world.
She cried out daily for a rescue to take place
She longed for her time to be up and maybe she could taste
A part of life she'd never known to be available to see
Something different from the ugly darkness, where is her beauty?
A guard came to the cell with a visitor in tow
Said his name was Truth and he had a richened glow
that lifted some of the darkness that had cuffed her in so tight.
It was then that she began to see things in a different light.
He told her she he could free her and her eyes changed with a small hope
She was very scared and put her chained hands out slightly to grope
To find his hand not knowing what to expect
He gave her something glassy that seemed to reflect.
She saw it was a mirror and held it up to her eyes.
They were full of pain and sorrow, there was no way to disguise
The anguish and abuse that covered her in a shallow grave
She had become more than a victim, she'd become a slave.

I have known for quite some time
that you gave up Your Life for me.
How it was You took on my crimes
so that in exchange, I would walk free.

Head hung low, walking dead and hollow.
As I hear your voice, and I wait for the pain to follow.
Your hurtful words sting like angry bees.
I try to get away from you on shaky knees.
How did we go from Heaven to Hell?
If you ever loved me, its sure hard to tell.
You are sadistic as you stalk and taunt me.
Its over, why can't you just leave me be?
Your words wound and slash me to the core.
Just when I think you're done you yell some more.
As if that isn't bad enough, tomorrow you'll call and be sweet.
Asking me to take you back and find somewhere to meet.
Twisted and torn, I know I can not bear to be with you alone.
Its safer for me to only talk with you on the phone.
I know my life is in danger if I agree to take you back.
Even if you wanted to, you can't stop at a slap
You get so angry when you don't get your way.
Last time I ended up in the hospital for more than a day.
Push me away, then try to pull me back.
With your mood swings, I can never keep track.
I wish I had a switch to turn off my feelings.
I try to be hard but my life you are stealing.
I have to be strong and keep you away.
If I don't, I may not live to see another day.
Its not as easy as it sounds to leave a loved one.
But sometimes, despite love, you have to know when you're done.
Love is not always enough to keep you together.
I'd rather have my life, than be scared forever.

almost two years ago after he almost killed me, by head butting me and breaking my face, I
love my children and my life more than I love him. I wrote this so women (and sadly, some

When normal frustrations of life seem they’ll never end
I take a walk in my back yard and take it all in
I’m lucky, a few acres, some trees, and a pond
I embrace the view but try to look beyond
To the beautiful things that I see offering a hedge
Like a tree’s reflections against a water’s edge
Bird sounds, the wind, even the occasional voice
Of a neighbor at play, always a good choice
All are just the first layer of a painting that I see in my mind
That when appreciated allow me to relax and recline
I often talk to God, knowing He always hears

They need to be said so that I might grow
So when life seemingly begins to tighten or strain

We all need a backyard of sorts to enjoy the trying

be it a man or woman, money or drugs or whatever affects your heart
and don't get caught up in worldly things, find the balance with a spiritual accord
and let that which you seek not be that which takes you away from the Spirit of the Lord
does whatever you desire cause you to stop your worship of the Lord Christ?
will it disconnect you from God and cause you to contemplate taking your life?
you need to fight and find your way back to the Lord God
to persevere and press towards Him with a righteousness of heart
to fight against demonic forces and seek the Lord Jesus Christ
and understand that He does not desire that you struggle in this life
God will never leave you nor give you more than you can bear
He will meet you at your crossroads in life and carry you anywhere
so bring all to the altar and lay it at God's feet
seek and you will find that with God your life will be complete
When your down and out and no one seems to care
When the only thing positive is fear and despair
When the angels have left and the devils grinning
And the only thing ahead of you is pain and sinning
When the good life then heaven is your goal
Just fight as hard as you can and hold onto your soul
When drugs and drink have you by a grip
And love and happiness is all you want to sip
When bills and a tough job has got you down
When the one who loves you doesn’t’ want you around
When you family is estranged and fallen apart
When everything hurts including your heart
