Premium Member Black and White

Lights are low. Reflections flicker on the wall
Mirror images of those from long ago.
Dead so many years, yet who are still alive...
Here,...in black and white, ...in this dark room

Bergman and Grant. I watch them as they struggle with emotion
She deceives him. He believes betrayal...
How is it possible...that he cannot see that her love for him endures?
My small screen evokes such love, bitterness, sadness and pain...
But once again...our heroine will be redeemed, and saved...in the end.

Oh yes! I know the outcome. I've seen it many times before...
Even so..I must watch again...how love conquers all....
Oh Mr. Grant! You must see how she loves you!!
Why can you not see how her heart breaks??
Ahh.....finally, yes...he carries her in his arms down the stairs to safety..
And I am curled in my chair...breathless once again.

Bergman, Grant, Stewart, Hepburn, Bogart...the list goes on and on.
We have lost them one by one, ....yet...we never really did...
They have left their presence in black and white for us to relish, ...again and again...
To take us to war torn places...to the Rhine,...to Casablanca...to the ends of the earth...
Yet we've never had to leave our chair

Those beautiful faces that never age
Like black and white etchings, that can be brought to life..
Tonight brings a teardrop, or terror, or a love like no other...
Tomorrow, they will take me to another place...another time...
As they live on and on and on.....in black and white...

Beyond the Dungeon Door

O Catie love ye do ask too much of a poor scribbling poet to ask him to
open the doors so ye can view the terrible thing he knows himself to be.
All men and mayhap women too know what terrors hide behind our own locked
doors. Yet still ye ask, so very well, I'll unbolt the door to allow ye to peer with-
in if ye are so inclined. I for one have seen inside and know what a putrid slice
of humanity I am and how I revel in the darkness when drunkeness or pain or even
simply living allows those fetid shutters to slip and let me see. I speak not of evil
deeds I have performed nor of any punishment I fear for these foul perfomances,
but of the satisfaction felt when the girl who wouldna dance with me is paralysed in
a car wreck or when my old boss hangs himself after going bankrupt. These
thoughts and others like them and worse I have imprisoned herein. Because these
things hang festering like buboes on my soul ready to rupture and allow their
stinking pus to flow, I cannae further go. Still here be the key for ye to use if ye still
wish to see. I ask only that ye dinna remove my chance to suicide but leaved it
within and bring it not into the light. I dinna believe we'll like each other after but I
will understand if ye wish not to bear my company more. This key and my love as my
friend are all I have to gie thee. Pray, use both well.

Seeking, Searching

We have strained the edges of the universe,
you and I together, seeking, searching
on cosmic trails for justice love and fear,
I loved thee then, as I love thee now, forever.

If I were but to die, it would be no great loss,
except for the loss of the sight of you.
Lost in eternity forever. Ever abandoned!
Blinded forever to vision, sound and touch.

The essence of your smile, the treasure of your love
the beauty of your thought unsatisfied in me.
In a crowded room with you, I am filled with only you
absorbed in assimilating the wonder of you.

We live so briefly, chained to our earthly mortality;
our human love brittle, ductile, fragile.
This fleeting existence complicated with
bitterness, evil, anger, fear.

Mortality in the cosmic galaxy of immortality,
a grain of sand on the threshold of time.
Billions of souls struggling to live, breathe, survive,
inconceivable abducted from the dust of ancient galaxies.

Transitioning through ageless boundaries of infinity,
an infinitesimal spirit hurtling across ever expanding light years,
at meteoric velocity, captive only to gravitational sensitivities
ever vanishing, ardent in abandonment.

Lost in eternity. Ever abandoned.
Seeking! Searching!
Spell bound in the eternal spell binder.
Seeking! Searching!

*****This poem was a love letter written by one of my dearest friends who is also my
room-mate... He asked me to take this letter and make it into a poem for him... Three
pages condensed to this....
In the last month I have been away from the soup because I have been playing muse... I
have posted two poems by Mr. Samuel Brooks, and now this poem from Dino Bravo...... Both
of these men have the "Gift of Gab" like me... Meaning witty, and comfortable with the
opposite sex... We are three wolves on the hunt... The Three Amigo's: Asavvy1, Dino
Bravo, and Mr. Chocolate WoW.... Dino wants your honesty, as do I... Seeing as I condensed
it.....:JP]******

**Thoughts of the One**

I want somebody to spend my life with,
share my love with.
Someone to show me how special she is,
share her love with me.
Wishing I had someone who feels me,
is kinda similar to me.
A love blatantly,
visible.
A vibrant love we both can see.
We don't have to share common hobbies,
differences in many ways.
But communication is key,
embracing love,
together,
we end our days.

An unconditional love!
One that thrives beyond death.
Screaming for you silently,
with every deep breath.

The Recognizer

Those well coheres conditions; and acts without restrictions
they're all without admissions; like disease without remission.
Walking all alone; his intentions never known
he seems doomed to be alone; in this world that isn't home.
There are those that may contend; object and recommend
cause wounds that will not mend; praise God and say amen.
Though he can recognize; he will seldom vocalize
for he's seen to many signs; of a better mans demise.
So he keeps it all inside; it's the safest place to hide
so he can minimize; the tears that he must cry.
If any should reach out; you shouldn't blame him for his doubt
don't try to yell and shout; for that's when he will walk out.
It will take a little time; to see what's on his mind
in time you just might find; he's somewhat sweet and kind.
His caution is no stranger; and his love is not a danger
he needs not an arranger; and his love is the remainder.
You might have it if you asked; but don't let it be a task
let it warm you as you bask; and drink from loving flask.
If you should try to hide; the more he'll get inside
so take it all in stride; and he may walk there by your side.

Marquis!

As I look back over my shoulder,
I see him watching me
I know there can be nothing between us
Because I know he is a Marquis

And though I may love him
And I know that he loves me
There can be nothing between us
Because he is a Marquis

We were never meant for each other
But each other is what we want
But instead I am to be a Queen
Destined to daunt and flaunt

I can not marry him,
Love him though I may
He is to far beneath me
I’m to be nothing more than a display

A plaything to the King
Until his boredom kicks in
I’m nothing but a pretty face
He cares not what’s within

He doesn’t want a smart woman
Just someone to breed him sons
I happen to be his fancy, now
I’m soon to be undone

He knows not what is in my heart
Cares not that I don’t love him
All I want is a life of love
But my prospects are looking grim

So I wave farewell to the one I love
And proceed to the gallows ahead
And ready myself to marry the King
While wishing it was a Marquis instead.

Premium Member The Letter -Dear Music, Love Poetry-

dear music,

so what are you going to do
knowing that i am perfect for you
your silent whispers
that sanq of warm breezes
your beauty i was unworthy of
but i listened
the paranoia behind trustinq you
i see you sweat
tiny dropplets hittinq paved cement
it glistened
it glistened
but please watch for the demons in me
on you
but we starve for the attention
i starved for your attention
you are the reason i feel harmony from up above
knowing that i am perfect for you
 blood to weak veins
like blood to weak veins
your blood my weak veins
like blood to weak veins
thinning blood blue weak veins

i am stronq
so why cant love stay
why is our love no lonqer sustained
i never sleep knowing you feel this way
for you i actually dream
but this niqhtmare that you'd never aqain come back to me
i cannot bear
i stand riqht here
so what are you qoinq to do
you know that i am perfect for you, you choose--you choose

As two Martian brothers went out to play
They argued as to what it would be today
Flipping a coin the younger boy won
“I know just what would be a lot of fun.
Let’s play like we are spacemen from Earth
And we’ll make a movie to show we were here first
And let’s pretend that I win the Spaceman award”
“Hold on you droid, if I’m on board,
You will never win the spaceman of the year award”
“I will so. Honestly I get so bored.
I win the toss and you fuss”
“But, You haven’t the love of humanity for it, you woos”
Cranking up the old rusty government reject garbage can,
The imaginary thrusters coughed, and man,
did they begin to rise. .
“I don’t need to love no stinking humans to win no prize.
Get off of my Space Ship, alright”
“Well, slow it down dude, I can’t jump off at the speed of light”

Is It Only a Girls Dream ??

To be married is every girls dream,

Now my day has come….

And my hands are shaking….

Shaking right down and through my knees,

Stepping into the door way as I….

Look down at an aisle that seems so long,

Will it lead to forever….

Or is the end a possibility,

I'm crying inside from confusion,

Not about love because I love him,

But his parents were divorced….

And so were mine,

Will their mistakes define our future,

Can we withstand the hard times….

And guarantee more of the good times,

Will we break down….

When it comes to finances,

Or will we work harder….

So hard we will become closer….

Closer so we can stay together….

Together meaning married forever,

To be married is every girls dream….

So please don't make this dream….

Something I regret for me.
