Once upon a time there were Five key words,
We all knew by heart,
What, where, when, why and how,
And they all came out of our mouths wearing question marks.
We didn't just save them for special occasions,
Or make them rhetorical,
No, we expected an informed reply,
So, we could produce the goods on a regular basis.
We used them to explore and keep our neural pathways in good order.
They were likely included in a babe's first jumbled thoughts,
With why and who the biggest contenders for first and second place.
And when any child could utter their first words these five key words,
Were among the first,
Often precursors to the word Mummy or Daddy,
And when they were older before the word teacher.
For a long time, everybody was happy,
And thoughtful,
As IQ'S kept getting bigger,
And neural pathways remained healthy.
Suddenly, we don't know why or how,
We lost our faith in these words,
As they started producing dishonest answers,
And other words like greed, corruption, and selfish,
Started holding sway.
It was not long after that,
The questions stopped,
And the five words that had served us so well,
Were more likely to be seen on the printed page,
Where they could be easily manipulated for other than honest purposes,
Than witnessed coming out of all but the bravest of lips.
If that was not enough for those lamenting their passing,
Many neural pathways began to disappear through lack of use,
And the words but why Daddy or But why Mommy became a fading echo,
To all but those of us old enough to remember,
When, When, What, Where, Why and How kept us honest,
And inflated Our IQ's.
Lest we all forget Hope and Love Still dwell yet in this world,
And a pathway to our hearts,
Is seldom blocked for good.
When nouns and verbs disappoint, music whispers in tempos
Reflections of kindness inspires and creates feelings so bright
With sunshine hues stressing choruses through the shadows
Breaking through the darkness which fades into a gentle light

Echoing melodies of rapture, breathing in measures of bliss

Touching hearts with sensitive fingers and a harmonious kiss

Sighing softly in songs of rich and vibrant stars with refrains

Soothing and consoling with charms that energize the remains

Playing a solo of pure joy which grace, hope and love designed

How many lonely and despairing
Yearn for a little love, a splash of caring.
They learn to grasp,
How to survive, extremely fast.
They use their time to sit and ponder,
What lies ahead for them up yonder?
A half collapsed bridge, a hail storm,
Or a torn thin blanket!
Today their leader stole a trinket,
Bought two loaves, three tins of bully beef,
Does not care he’s become a thief.
So depressed they are, think not of fear
Would long to share a heartfelt tear,
How many times, labelled an outcast,
Lost all contact with family from the past.
Warmth, hope and love is all they need,
Why are the wealthy full of greed?
Can they not learn to share?
Would this not be fair?
Escaping from this earthly hell
These desperate humans
Their souls do sell,
For coke, ecstasy and weed,
Like a withered dying seed,
Becomes their desperate only need,
Might even kill, to this addiction feed!
A young boy’s empty look seems quite insane,
His tear streaked face weaves paths of pain,
So depressed, hungry and poor,
But God comes knocking at their door.
One of the wealthy greedy men,
Despised himself, he left his den,
Brought food, blankets and loads of money
Alleluia man, this will feed many a tummy!

On a very wonderful night
Two-thousand years ago
A beautiful baby boy was born
And in the sky a star did show
From Heaven above
Jesus was sent here to earth
Sent by His Father to grace
Us all the way with His birth
The Three Wise Men didn't know
But they just followed that star
The voice that told them to go
So they traveled for Him that far
Full of joy they worshiped Him
They offered Him gifts right to the brim
