"To soar in the wind, to dip and to glide . . . "
And be detached and apart from this life's reality,
Where past sorrows shroud my remembering;
I have sealed the heavy door of the past.
Oh to flutter on the edge of dreams,
To tremble and hover, grasping the peaceful and happy;
In my imagination I float and drift,
Like a breathtaking butterfly with gossamer wings.
But then, but then . . .
The cold fingers of the past come creeping,
Monsters and sorrows of the long ago:
Painful memories are screaming and shattering my soul.
The beautiful lost in the carnage,
Oh the tears and the weeping eternal floating sadness.
The heavy door to the past is bolted and secure,
Impenetrable with a padlock and thick chain;
Where anguish and bliss entwine in an endless battle,
And my happiness died long, long ago.
But from time to time,
A whispering, beautiful single memory finds a way;
From under that weighty door locked and chained.
And I crush the sweetness to my weeping broken heart.

Is this chair free?"
"Sadly, not. Finest oak, sprinkled with fairy dust
hence extremely and extensively expensive!" she teased;
their eyes touched then bumped away.
He was French and a little confused; she just wanted to be!
A smile sprang off the top springboard of her mouth,
performing a perfect somersault
pirouetting onto his bottom lip
to linger with warm intrigue.
Simultaneously they laughed
and for a few seconds
their mirth seemed to tentatively hold hands.
Days later... that relationship
had threaded a gossamer cobweb of attraction.
Weeks later... nuances dallied,
private thoughts revealed, intimacy heightened.
Months later...they reached the stage
and page of mentioning age;
they just nittered and nattered
that it mattered... not!
He was twice her age;
she, half his size.
He was French, she was English.
The perfect fit!
And so, the relationship jitterbugged forward
expressed with a language of love.
The narrative over the years
dictated by humorous commas, tender semicolons,
occasional crusted exclamation marks
until time's clock ran out and, sadly, the final full stop laid.
She sits now, turning the pages of warming memories in her mind;
pulling back those first few words he had offered her.
"Is this chair free?"
She mimicked the smile that had first enticed him
and painfully whispered, "C'est maintentant, mon cheri!"

My eyes, some days, a flirty blue,
wink cerulean skies at you.
Let’s dally in sun’s gilded rays.
A flirty blue, my eyes - some days.
At evening time my eyes flash bright
as emeralds in sultry night.
Come bathe with me in passion’s clime.
My eyes flash bright at evening time.
Romantic eyes, with whisper of
soft lavender for one I love.
In gossamer, I’ll mesmerize
with whisper of romantic eyes.
In early morn, a green, pearl-gray
reflects your face in velvet day.
This placid hue my eyes were born-
a green, pearl-gray in early morn.
(My eyes actually change color with the contact lenses I choose to wear
Shades of leaves wavering from mauve to ember
colour my lavender spirits in days of November.
When lustrous autumn blankets silently reap,
my glorious desires in ecstasy drench me deep.
A corridor of withering dandelions in dreams
simmers soothing secrets in glistening beams.
Every year I wait for soothing serenade of fall
it wraps my soul in slumber of a Cashmere shawl.
Silver fog shivers to glide with sunlit breeze,
memories melt my heart as snow begins to freeze.
On twirling trumpets of aural leaves I dance,
maple trees orchestrate a proliferous glance.
The hums of wet layered crystals appease dew,
I breathe iridescent aroma of reviving damp hue.
In quietude embossed broken twigs in scarlet rays,
I weave a pattern of opera peeping through haze.
There's an old tree house draped at divine dusk,
I spend my hours inhaling in wind dispersed musk.
My sandcastles of love fly in azure palate of sky,
with echoing wind my embellished petals rise high.
The rivulets under the wooden bridge caress pebbles
longing to strum starry nights as shriveling rebels.
Sequins of crimson in haloed wisps of Autumn tide,
the fir tree shimmers in veils as a stunning bride.
Ah! On starry nights when crystals kiss furling space,
my love blooms in blushing incarnations with grace.
Autumn tiptoes nervously for the forest to be reborn,
a gossamer shield of awakened serenity my cells adorn.

Every child's laughter, the rustle of the trees,
Every intended deed that rights a wrong,
Every floating bubble, every gossamer breeze,
Every bird that sings its own sweet song,
The glow of a brightly colored balloon,
The wonder of a wild animal running free,
The excitement of a surprise coming soon,
The power of the waves crashing in the sea,
Every bright sunset that turns the sky black.
Every sunrise, the sky wrapped in purest gold,
Every message that says you are coming back,
Every moment of your strong hand to hold.
These WONDERS I CHERISH DEEPLY IN MY HEART.
Till we are together NEVER MORE TO BE APART.
every bright sunset
the sky wrapped in purest gold
your strong hand to hold
Wonders I cherish deeply in my heart...never more to be apart

A delicate snowflake in a picturesque frosty nook
flagitious, frightful sky, frequently falling
Silently, "I don't wish to thaw on your hot hand."
The searing fire in your heart is even worse.
Amid quiet, gossamer candor, and praise
Embrace, glamor, and romance...
Goals are sketched with a quivering quill.
Thunder and a bolt of light struck as we met.
I am bound to your flaming mind and spirit.
For the rest of my life, I'd be confined...
Splitting from you is never what I desire.
Bestow a kiss on the crisp, forlorn flowers.
Favor frosty forms friendly and fetching
Traces of the past taint ethereal times.
Diaphanous, dulcet, deep rhythmic melody
Whispering on the wings of epiphany
Are you writing a tribute to sweet lyrics?
Cherry blossoms dangle across the neck.
Whilst basking in the moonlight
Shivering and mulling
Only fragrance lingers while I meet you.
We snuggled in a cozy bed after a hectic day.
Your soft caress leads me to a balmy moment.
My pulse skips as I glimpse your agog blue gaze.
You've added warmth to my cold room.
Feelings that are fantastic and fanciful
Gracefully, you exude the glimmer of a sigh.
Is there sufficient time to carve out a lasting style?
Will a sepia world manage to discern flavor?
Kaleidoscopic dreams...
A bold yet hazardous query
to a damsel brimming with zeal.
Squatting down on the cold, firm earth
Where do all dreams stem from?
Bestow a sincere serenade on the balmy vista.
But we may require some icy blankets.
One option is the silky linen that clings to her body.
Hungry for trust that is soaked in love...
Unveiled under the swaying trees of passion
Embracing the well-known roots is pure air.
Sparrows and swans provide relaxing tunes.
A lovely memory of the sweet longing...
You will never be alone, dear.
Her smiles of valor encase her agony--
her fiery scars pound against her sanity
struggling in twisted ropes of silent screams.
A wounded Athena, she is a woman in chains
staring at her shattered reflections.
Her shades of red, they haven't seen--
tender shrieks buried under forced arms,
blurred visions of screaming tyranny.
A trampled magnolia, she is a woman in chains
rotting in her Carmen of morose ember.
Oh woman! You embrace scars with dignity,
ethereal flow of progeny in your hands,
your banished desires in shriveled ages
survive in spiral cobwebs of festered veins.
Her miserable existence in labyrinths--
she simmers courage in dried paranoia,
a streak of red blood, no longer she'd fear.
A goddess flickering amber lamps of hope
her essence flows through mankind.
Oh woman! Feel the celestial powers
preserved in your gracious bosom,
your afflicted pain nurtures patience
strong enough to bend heavenly tides.
A wounded Athena, a trampled magnolia
A rotting Carmen, a goddess she is..
The woman in chains pours forgiveness
filling oceans from azure exuberance,
her selfless heart of mellowed love
permeates Satan's abode with virtue.
The woman in chains wears sacrifice,
her gossamer veil embraces men's follies,
she carries the elixir of compassion,
ripples of hopes for scarred souls.
Oh woman! They oppress you in madness,
to your sanctity they bow in agitation,
the woman they know, the goddess they don't,
until you dust your timeless wings to fly again.
Luminous lids lift, languidly unveiling vistas of vibrant verse, as lavish laughter lines lips that lure with lyricism.
Sultry syllables swirl, a sweet serenade that saturates the senses, summoning sonnets that soar on solar winds.
Gentle gestures glide, a gracious gamut of elegance, as each delicate digit dances, dripping with dignified demeanor.
Fiery fervor flashes, a fervent fusion of fascination, as fervid fingers fan the flames of fantasy and fiction.
Ravishing radiance reigns, a resplendent rainbow of ravishing beauty, as rosy rouge revives and rejuvenates the senses.
Lissome limbs undulate, a languid latticework of loveliness, as lithe lines limn the landscape of the lovely dame.
Velvety vowels vibrate, a vibrant vocalization of vitality, as vivacious voice whispers sweet nothings to the willing heart.
Dazzling diamonds dazzle, a diadem of dazzling delight, as delicate digits decorate the divine with diaphanous drapery.
Svelte silhouettes sway, a sinuous serpentine of seduction, as supple skin shimmers, shedding shimmering shadows.
Gossamer garments glide, a gauzy gamut of gorgeousness, as gilded gowns glimmer, glowing with golden light.
Lustrous locks cascade, a lavish landslide of loveliness, as luxuriant tresses tumble, tumbling tenderly to the ground.
Ethereal essence emanates, an exquisite efflorescence of elegance, as the lovely dame embodies the essence of the divine.
"With each wave of anguish that crashes over me,
I find myself drowning in my own tears." ~ by poet
I walked through the rusted gates and entered a godforsaken plot of land. A family cemetery on top of the hill near the River Strand. A chilled mist was beginning to blanket the grave of the only man I'd ever loved... the one whose arms around me, I still crave. Grief-stricken, I rest my head on his tombstone, mournful tears spill from my eyes as I agonize with heartbreak. Life for me has lost its spark. I live each day in a twilight haze that melds into the dark.
through the rusted gates
death's breath clings upon the mist~
woe begotten hill
Ancient oaks are draped with moss. Their branches resemble arms hanging low over the graveyard as if they are ghostly specters. I think of them as my love's protectors, silently watching over him. The sky is darkening, and I hear myself groaning in sorrow. It's time to walk back through the rusted gates, but first I'll wipe away the spider's gossamer silk across his name as my heart grieves.
beneath oaken limbs
bodies rest in hallowed ground~
silence is daunting
