Why Am I Me

Why am I me? Now, that is the question, It sure needs some thought and deep expression, Sometimes I think I’d be a butterfly, It has varied colours and it can fly… Or why can’t I be that orange goldfish? Gossamer fins to swim is all I wish… Or maybe that deer with feet so agile, Then maybe my mind wouldn’t feel so fragile… Why am I not you? Why am I not her? Oh yes, such stray thoughts do sometimes occur, I am me because I have a purpose, Fashioned for God’s glory, am not worthless… The LORD’s image I bear, His child I be, So I just thank Him for making me ME. 09.20. 2021 For Shreya LN's "Why am I me?" contest

Thank you for posting this inspirational audio, Jo. Much enjoyed the essence of the song--thanks for making me, me. And I hear and feel that theme throughout your poem. So well done!

Loved the ending, Jo. We are all destined to be what God wants us to be. But then we have our choices. We must act to please Him. Hugs.
