Premium Member Melancholy

As gray clouds envelop the azure sky
Leaving no trail of any single ray of sunlight
Leaves remain static hushing the wind
To stop caressing my lonely face and skin.

While silence engulfs me in my dark room
I hug my pillow as I curled up in gloom
Unintentional fasting, no appetite or taste
I succumb to the pit of my melancholic state.

My body seems paralyzed in the stillness
As my thoughts and soul sadly meander
Wondering where you are my darling, my lover
Are you coming home to me or to another?

As I slowly rise to look through the window
No vision of hope but thick clouds of deep sorrow
Raindrops’ songs start to play to cheer me up
I sigh to loosen my chest, eject thorns...but I cannot.

Mass Confusion In a State of Shock

i am not thinking straight today
as i make myself a spaghetti sandwich
ever since i kissed the lips of loneliness,
i have been fasting for the reuniting of our chemistry
however the end result is always anionic bonding
my wish is for the cationic vibe and the freedom from the red rain
i add ice to the jar of pickle juice and wash the spaghetti sandwich down
then i grab the first of the two cookie shakes from the freezer
the blue warmth of my tears melt the usual deliciousness away
i guzzle it down as the cookie bits scratches my tonsils
then i grab the second of the two cookie shakes, but i never get through it
somehow i fall asleep dreaming dreams of time machines and aladdin's lamps
when i wake up to get ready for work, i realize that it is saturday
fully and heavily clothed, i carelessly plop down on the carpet
my rumbling stomach reminds me of where i am
i rush to the bathroom and empty the contents to the overly soiled toilet
i stare into space on up into the next day
i am impervious to the deprivation of sleep
it is in your flawless honor that i do openly weep
i so wish that your heart could have been something that i could keep
you took everything when you left with the black sheep
now i consider myself an extreme hoarder for your love
boxes of memories construct a quicksand sea in my mind
i drown intentionally to become carelessly and helplessly lost in it all....

That Was Then and This Is 2010: (Part 2) Soul Food

we're now in the midst of the Holy season known as Lent
forty days and nights of sacrifice as a way to repent
a time for us to try and get a little closer to God
a time to fast, to give up something we hold dear to our hearts

we're in the age of technology with Facebook, Twitter and texting
the way people now communicate has become somewhat vexing
always with the I-Pods, I-Pads, cel phones and e-mail
time to talk to eveyone but God who only requires knee-mail

when Jesus encountered the Tempter after His time of fasting
He had a wilderness experience that would be forever lasting
hungry and tired from all those challenges He had to face
now waiting on the word of God to fall perfectly in place
the Tempter said "if You're the Son of Man make bread out of these stones"
Jesus replied " that man does live by bread alone
but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God"
the spiritual Soul Food that will forever nourish our hearts
the Daily Bread that overflows into our spiritual cups
the Word of God, the Soul Food that will forever lift us up
as that was then and this is 2010
it's time to come out of the wilderness my friend

we all have moments of frustration, heartache and pain
we need to come out of the wilderness and by God be made whole again
to face down the devil and the temptation He'll put in your way
now resistant to sin and no longer by the Enemy to be swayed
to partake of God's Soul Food which will guide us to all truths
to trust in God and do whatever His word asks of you
to call on God and know that He will always have your back
now full of His Soul Food and on the right spiritual track
knowing that it's now all under God's control
now fed and nourished by His Spiritual Food for your soul

Premium Member The Demons Within

So if you think the Bible was bad with the Demons within
Think of the parasites in your guts carrying their bad Jinn

All these events of mass shooters killing off all the kinfolk
Some blame medication, water you drink, as even smoke

But if so would not there be as more killers with each day
No these events are random and you are their given prey

As mind controlling, once they are living inside your brain
Tipping us from stable to a person that is Demonic insane

Fed the food to act as the worlds, own ticking time bomb
Cooked, and given so innocently, by our own loving Mom

Just think of probiotics, as the guardian angels in your gut
Regular fasting goes a long way to those Demons to rebut

Those parasites are written within the Bible so read it well
And don’t give them the chance to send your mind to Hell

So before you take what I say with a pinch of that sea salt
Next time you go insane do not blame me it's not my fault

my mind opened revealing
a sudden gallery of brilliant
patterns a canvas being viewed
from afar amid a certain

necessary unlived feeling
i'd marvaled beyond infamous
gazing filling the emptiness
why i began to master thought

finding myself somewhere
over the greenery
pastures of soft calm waters
being poured over my flesh

as i beckoned calmness
i suppose as my feet settled
apon smooth stones that covered
the entrance as ivy climbed

reaching a sullen sounds
of purgatory silenced delivered
a ravishing draught a fasting
created within my whither spirit

gently i walked through
st patrick's garden gate
while mercy and kindness
deminshed discoil and hate

Premium Member Fasting For Faith

In deference to her Father, she did not complain.
There was no look on her face that showed any pain.
It was a bit of a sacrifice, but she was totally willing.
She kept to her daily routine, her soul gently filling.

He has done so many things for her, this was okay.
She fasted without sharing the fact, this was her way.
It was between God and her, no one else needed to know.
She was able to march forward with joy, that this was so.

Fasting suited her fine, it was the least she could do.
She owed him so much, this was no big deal to Sue.
She is a pious woman, who wants to give back to her King.
The Father who frankly has given her life and everything.

Taste Buds

My taste buds can't seem to shake
Off the sweet tastes of the towns food
It takes me back to the holy month of Ramadhan
When they'll be various vendors selling food

I loved how people would buy together
Everyone buying and piling it in one sinia
And they'd all eat as one
Even the one who doesn't have gets to enjoy

Cause food has a way of bringing together people

To start off a day after fasting, one takes dates
Accompanied with sweet strong coffee
And something savoury that doesn't overpower the tongue
Cause all this mix of fun goes on one palate

My taste buds still recall how they were lively
Awakened in the shores of Mombasa
When I ate prawns and una
It's like I've missed out on all this my whole life

It's no surprise why I'd want to marry from coast
Cause I'm charmed by the great foods they have to offer
And a great home starts off with great food
So that guests keep coming wanting more

Cravings

If my heart ever has trouble dancing on beat
Just put your lips on mine
When the poem won't write itself
Gently hold my hand
Because when your lips interlock
With my emotions
Holding the world feels as if I'm holding you
I’d be lying if I said my forevers
Didn’t send you an invitation
In every possibility
You make my imagination
A calm reality
Dreams become passing thoughts
Breathing obsolete
My soul defies gravity
I didn’t fall, I reached for you
Knowing together we're that much closer to heaven
With your love under my wings
Your safety in my arms
This life has no interrupting alarms
Carry this one request
Allow me to crave you
Not to be too forward
But I've been waiting for you
Since I thought I understood sacrifice
Then I began fasting to grasp what I didn't first comprehend
I been fasting
To experience love at its purest form
I’ve been talking to patience
To get familiar with your voice
A voice that makes the echo home
A voice that rocks me to sleep
A voice I long to see
p.s. I just want to be in your presence…

Poetic Fasting

As attention is released from food
it heightens magnetic mood
lucidity descends kinetic
discernment ascends aesthetic
ideas caught, nothing goes naught

Body cleared from excess toxin
channels widen spilling more options
downward floods idyllic inspiration
upward goes my motivation
observation sharp for superior creation

Food for body is not food for spirit
fasting increases angelic visits
feeding mind so cordial with verses divine
such a clean sacrifice makes
my stanzas exquisitely explicit

Time spent preparing meals
godlike used for lyrical poetic reels
layers we spiritually allegorically peel
seals ink with rhymes and rhythms
ecstatic rhapsodic colourful prisms !
