Dear Santa,
As you may well know,
it's tights and not stockings that are all the go.
So, with no stockings to hang on the bedstead,
would a pair of my bloomers be OK instead?
I'll sew up the legs so that there is more space,
can't have my gifts falling all over the place.
I hope you don't mind, as my wine you consume,
please try to be silent when entering my room.
I'm a light sleeper and at my age, which is quite a pain,
if I lose too much sleep, then it addles my brain.
You may kiss me sweetly if I'm in deep slumber
mistletoe on my pillow, plus telephone number.
I promise to leave you a home-made mince pie,
though the pastry's gone soggy
'cause the onions made me cry.
Myopia means recipes I really struggle to see
though onion in mince pies' is a new one on me.
But the pies are quite tasty as I'm sure you'll agree
and if you're still hungry, then have two or three!
There's a drop of fine whisky which you may try too,
bought by my late husband circa 1952
'twas in an old bottle I found in the shed
my hubby drank most of it afore dropping dead.
I think you're so special, dear old Santa Claus,
now here's what I would like you to leave in my drawers:.
1. A pretty box - so I may store my false teeth so neat,
so I can find 'em when I gets me something to eat.
2. A walking frame 'cause I am liable to fall,
and falling, alas, does you no good at all.
3. Some California Poppy, as supplies now seem so short,
if this scent can't be found I will smell like a horse.
4. A pair of big knockers, for front and back door.
A warm cosy nighty, don't need see-throughs no more.
5. Get me a back scratcher, please, if you can,
I can't scratch that itch since I lost me old man.
6. Also an emergency underwear kit,
as nowadays there's times when I don't quite make it.
7. If you have a big dog, leave it in the back yard,
I'll treat quite kindly, if me it will guard.
Thats all the gifts on my Christmas wish list,
but I'll settle for more Santa, if you insist.
I haven't been naughty for many a year,
when awaking, I expect all my gifts to be here!
Merry Christmas!

Mind and time
Is it true? That the relief you feel is just a ghost? That the hand you hold is just your own. Your fear of life is just alone, the abyss of your eyes never meet the same. You've put your light out and relight it, this cycle continues and you havent a clue. You cant be afraid of life and tell the truth, you're self aware but to whom? You tell ones who are paid to listen, but not the whole truth.
Not the burning church with the laughter and the cheers, Both smiles in your eyes and freedom from your mouth, you hear the worries but no ones reacting, you need to relax. Take a moment and breath, whom are you talking to? I see her and I feel her, even when had breath she wouldnt give you CPR! Why would you care about the skin of the being whose life was never aimd at you for an audience!? Another Christmas, new year, valentines with the cat.
The only significants in which the lines havent blurred, Are you really doing that again!? Its not even Thanksgiving yet. What day is it? Does that matter? Do you have somewhere to be? Oh right appointments, such a rich and fulfilling life you have.... you know if you don't want to be apart of this then their are meds to- wait! What day is it? Why is it sun outside? Why are there fireworks? What day is it?! Why? Why does that matter? Has there been an emergency?! If so what the hell are you going to do?
The new teammate on the payroll will put you on so many things youre going to be in a box drooling. No! What!? I said NO! I know what day it is! I know what time it is and you have flown so close to the sun that your wings are clip! Youll be back at step one soon! No! I won't! And if I slip I still have my calendar and my clock!
Your eyes, a storm, a captivating fire
Pulled me in close, fueled by raw desire
Whispers started, shadows in the night
Tales of broken hearts, in pale moonlight
A legacy of pain, a trail you leave behind
Twisted satisfaction, tearing up your mind
State of emergency, declared inside my head
Sirens scream your name, a warning I have read
I'm not apologizing, for slamming shut the door
You're a hurricane of chaos, I can't ignore
A State of emergency, saving what's left of me
From guilt hungry, eternally.
Wear your father's madness, a crown of thorns
Repeating patterns, since the day you were born
Chasing fleeting pleasure, power in the fall
But guilt's a hungry monster, it will swallow all
Reconciliation's empty, without a debt repaid
A license to destroy, another life betrayed
A State of emergency, declared inside my head
Sirens scream your name, a warning I have read
I'm not apologizing, for slamming shut the door
You're a hurricane of chaos, I can't ignore
A State of emergency, saving what's left of me
From guilt hungry, eternally.
We're oil and water, baby, a volatile mix
You crave the drama, I just need the fix
Of peace and quiet, sanity restored
I said what I said, and every word I meant
Is the truth, my dear, a line you can't erase
You got what you want, a tragic, empty space.
State of emergency, declared inside my head
Sirens scream your name, a warning I have read
I'm not apologizing, for slamming shut the door
You're a hurricane of chaos, I can't ignore
A State of emergency, saving what's left of me
From guilt hungry, eternally.
Eternally forever...
In a State of emergency…
Gasoline and Fire
You're not me… And I’m not you...
Under No Management
A sad state of mind emergency,
rooted sorrow buried deep within.
Evacuated thought mind urgency,
isolated all alone to weep again.
Sirens, horns, lights flashing,
mentally dialing 911 inside.
Trains, cars, planes all crashing,
wreckages of tears eternally cried.
Mental blue spaced handicap parking,
unrecorded reality in empty closet space.
The brightlights pen flashed sparkling,
No manager home to manage this place...

—Memorial Day Elegy—
The grave site
where the men and women of patriotic spirit fought bravely
in the battlefield and fell for glory of the nation,
abandoned everything that they have, buried
at an age that is too young to die lie as headstones.
No matter with how many brilliantly shining medals
to decorate these warriors
and to honor them with all kinds of eulogies,
alas! sad as ever, they just stand there without a word
as the tombstones identical in size and shape.
The warriors were, though, not that strict
that evil must be paid with evil and good must treat with good,
held arms because the nation was attacked by the enemy,
and security was at stake;
to them, it doesn’t matter whether it is good or evil,
they have to restore this national emergency
with whatever means available.
The warriors, therefore, without the slightest hesitation,
dashed in the middle of the gun smoke and bullets,
into the battlefield where the cannonade tears the ears,
and blasting fires pierce the eyes.
The warriors,
who fought with every means to protect nation,
even traded their lives for nation’s security,
now stand there as the tombstones
with relief and great pride,
looking proudly at the fluttering nation’s flag,
that they protected with all that they have;
during the day
beckoning the passing clouds,
at the night
calling twinkling stars,
telling the stories of how gruesome was the battle
and how hard it was to fight.
Sitting here at the town square
watching people going around here
a girl feeding pigeons with bread
how these birds love eating so very dear
Another old lady drinking coffee
on a seat nearby in the sun
at the centre of the square steps
the water sprinkler sprays just for fun
Flashing lights flash on the main street
there nearby there's the police and ambulance
racing by going to some emergency
thankfully we have them even a glance
Lovely trees surround the square
so colourful as the sun shines through
even the breeze waves its effect
now the sun's warmer on our face so true
This is spring anticipating summer
bring it on whatever its number!
(Just some thoughts sitting at the town square in Southport, England a few weeks ago while enjoying a short break there.)
In dark of new day
Perhaps 2 am or three
I woke up to pee, and
Heard you say,
"Please can I have water?"
I touched your forehead on fire
You were three going on four.
I clothed you, wrapped you in warmth
From dew of dark night
Your brother slept in his crib
As I carried you on my shoulders
Pass canals, and alleyways, and lanes
And over across Belize's swing bridge
Even the market place slept as I walked.
In the emergency room, you were first
For your temperature had climbed
Making you soundless in my arms
In room of nurse and doctor, handing
The pill, bating your fever;
You were my load stone star, sent to me
When I needed a friend
I then began a course in duty.

There's rain in the forecast
Days of Rain
Greying my verdant spring
Violent storms are expected
So be ready for damage
The atmosphere is just chilly enough
To produce golf size hail
Be wary of pound--pound---pounding
On shelter's roof and walls
Some damage is irreparable
Flash Flood watch is in effect
Expect all low spots to be flooded
In the resultant deluge
Emergency personnel may be delayed
With other calls at the time
It is advised that you prepare in advance
Store extra batteries and lanterns--food and water
Then take that beautiful glass heart
from your windows lest it be smashed
A storm warning is now in effect.
The life of a third world citizen
I shade the tears of joy last night
Cos I could feel life again
I was born In the third world country
Raised by the community
I lived in the midst of alot of people
No wonder I love people
Don't except me to bleed today
Cos I shade the tears of joy last night
I saw the truth I saw the God awoke
I saw the spirits arise
I saw the truth closer
It mirrors was not broken
I saw a new life
Then I knew why the universe
Allow us to suffer first
So instead to bleed
Last night I shade tears of joy
The life of the third world citizen
Don't except me to write you
A biography of our state of emergency
It is what it is
Yet despite what it is
We are still existing greatly
From our dark world
Always present all over the globe
Singing to the world
Making the world smile
Entertaining the broken heart globally
We can't stop and let the world die
So fast in sadness
No wonder despite all the strange life
We bear
Yet we are the magic
The world can't do with out
God bless Africa
I woke up to a very dry spell
that originates from the pit of hell
There is dryness all around me
and river is flowing beneath the sea
The fire is blazing in the east
and the temperature has risen
to a hundred and twenty degree
the sun is burning
in the north and the south
and the western desert
is blowing dust all around.
I am caught up in the middle of it
And the power of truth open
Its mouth and the tenderness of
My youth began to shout
A simple flash back
held me captive on the track
It was a primary school scene
that evolved out of my career dream,
I have always wanted to be medical doctor
And the vision came alive when I acted a scene
In front of all the teachers, principal staff and students
In my Dover Castle Primary school
It was just like yesterday when I acted the play
And I won a big prize for saving someone’s life
“Emergency, emergency, Dr Phillips is calling…
Please send an ambulance, a patient is dying
“A patient is dying, I need back up help”
I was examining a patient on
the stretcher that had a concussion
from a terrible accident
the flash back was in split second from my
primary school drama scene acted several decades ago
I turned around but no one was around
except for me standing here
And the morning continue to bake like a
Pineapple upside down cake with
little moisture inside and an abundant
love burning from the side
the trees are sagging in the humid breeze
and the light in the sky began to die
I stand in the middle of the road looking at the
Traffic twirling around the city
And the people marching in
a straight line through the town
There is no water around
And the leaves began to turn brown
Autumn is around the corner and
The river beneath the sea has a story
For you and me, the flash back is true
And the message inside has come live
Get ready for the ride.
