Heart Song

Yell and scream
And fight it out
Angry voices turn to shouts
Neither knows how the other feels
No thoughts or fears or dreams revealed
Both hurt so many times before
Each faith is shaken to the core
Looking at the world around
With each breath our spirits drown
On the pain of heartbreaks dwell
 Only Shadows of ourselves
Our hearts are shackled bound in chains
No twinkle in our eyes remains
Preparing for the worst it seems
It can’t hurt when you have no dreams
Used to have the future planned
Two kids, a dog, a mini-van
Never used to doubt these things
Now thoughts of these only sadness brings
Walls we’ve built around our hearts
Doing our best to dodge cupid’s dart
Let down too many times before
Our hearts now safe behind locked doors
Surviving life but never living
Each old scar so unforgiving
Often feeling all alone
Even though friends and family phone
 Wanting to protect them all
Not take them down if you fall
Can’t succeed if we don’t try
Start practicing a battle cry
Push through the darkness into the light
Never willingly give up the fight
The past is done and gone
The future plays a mysterious song
So through the present we’ll carry on

A Letter To You, a Letter To Me

What if I could talk to you,
if you were more than a memory?
What if I could lead your path,
instead of the fate that led mine?

Would you know me as truth,
or think me a wild dream?
Would you see yourself in me at all,
or not recognize the man before you?

I received a letter the other day,
from you, from me - a slice of time.
Words planned and sent forward,
in advice, in earnest plea.

I would love to be able to answer,
to write back and say that you're okay;
but more so, to go back even further,
and say these words to the boy left behind.

'I beg you, do not follow the path
that's laid so clearly before you.
Don't make up your mind so quickly,
for your sake, take a step back.

'I would stop you if I could,
but I think we both know better.
Just hear me, and what you'll live with,
should you choose to stay your course.

'You will bloody your knuckles so many times,
on doors, walls, concrete, anything;
not healthy, but recourse nonetheless
when your hate bubbles and spits like a pool of lava.

'Your spirit consumption will worry your friends,
and you'll message your father "save me";
you will fall many times, stumble and wonder
if this one is your last - keep thinking "not yet".'

Hearing such, would you dismiss me,
as easily as you did the rest?
Would you wave off my words,
like smoke clouding your breath?

Or would you perchance heed them,
as only you have ever changed your mind?
Would you take the easier, smarter road,
and let mine simply fade away?

Would that I could,
would that I may,
write a letter to you, as you did for me;
only reversing the way of the days.

THE COLOUR GREEN

The distinction is of no relevance
It is one and the same in my eyes.
Lime, Forest, Hunter and Mint Green ;
Sage, Seafoam, Olive and Pea Green;
Emerald, Jade, Chartreuse and fen Green;
Verdigris, Celadon and Spruce Green;
One truth remains: it is Green.

It represents nature and harmony,
A symbol of refreshness and renewal,
A beacon of eco-friendliness and sustainability.

It calms my nerves and breathes serenity,
It projects growth, abundance and prosperity.
It raises the bar of optimism and hope,
A full, balanced meal for my emotional stability.

Time and again, i find myself at the crossroads of uncertanity.
The room before me houses two colours,
Each holding the unknown.
I tremble at the thought of meeting the unexpected.
With the keys in my hands and my name stamped on its doors,
I stand still, like a tree in the absense of wind.
I contemplate the quantity and quality of the ingredients i mixed,
were they enough to warrant the colour that i seek?

Let My People Go

Let my people go
The indigenous people
Of Biafra
Is calling the world
To it aid
We are not at war
But their is always
A systematic war on us
Tribal segregation
Never leaves us fighting
And now we are ready to go
Ready once again to be who
We are always denied to be
The indigenous people
Of Biafra

Let my people go
Every people has a right
Of an identification
So do we
We are tired to be called
Nigerians
Our association is at a peak
Of a systematic war
And intimidation never leaves
Our doors
So we are tired of one
United Nigeria
We only want our freedom
We want to be identified
World wide only as the
Indigenous people of Biafra
So what crime do we commit
Am asking the world

Let my people go
If we can't unite
Let divide to unite
Everyone will be happier
We got to leave
We are calling for it
We are never backing down
Or else we die trying
It the time
We are tired of abuse
We are going back home
So pharaoh
Let my people go

When Our Children Ask Why?

the stones will tell the story of their journey into the Promised Land
the children of Israel with the Ark of the Covenant at Gigal they came to stand
they had crossed over the Jordan River when the river bed by God was made dry
and the Lord told them to tell all the children if they should ever ask why?

God is at work in our lives, He has a master plan
He's prepared us for that which for us He has in His hands
our lives have been redeemed by His unlimited mercy and grace
as He's the God of the whole universe of all air, land, sea and space
we've been fashioned in His image and the likeness of His Son Our Holy Lord
and when we accept and acknowledge Him our lives become more in accord
as all things work together for the good of those who love Christ
no matter the trials nor the tribulations that you experience in this life

when our children ask why we worship and honor the Lord God
the words out of our mouths should be from the depths of our hearts
tell them that once they understand the purpose that for them God has ordained
they'll be more equipped to handle life's frustrations, upsets and pain
let them know no matter what in life they are going through
the joy of the Lord comes each morning and He will always be with you

trust in God to open doors and let His Holy Spirit guide you along
believe in His word, follow His commands and you will never go wrong
by exposing the core of your being, your soul and becoming a vessel that God can use
now as a true disciple and servant of Christ you can never lose

so reverence God, respect God and hold Him in the highest regards
and when our children ask why tell your testimony from the heart
that God is omnipotent, there is nothing He cannot do
He parted the Red Sea and the Jordan River so His people could pass through
so when our children ask why, why we glorify the Lord God?
we can tell them about all the wonderful things and the miracles He imparts

Sweet Cheeks

“Sweet Cheeks”
by Positive Mark

There was a time when I’d still buy a mango,

not in remembrance of you, but most definitely in celebration.

Sweet cheeks,

with the doors locked.

Each grip

was a cork popped.

Consequences mixed with the nectar in your kisses.

Mouths full of forbidden fruit, each time the serpent hisses.

Walls are patched in old huts, and temperature increases.

The amputated left to bawl, and howl like other species.

The moth-adjusted breeze came from the sway of slender hips.

The energy was transferred through a pair of spongy lips.

A shrimp boat at a sports bar, and a stick of marijuana

can turn an SUV back seat into a leather sauna.

A curse, caught in a gust of wind, can turn wild spirits loose.

They laughed each time your kisses filled my mouth with mango juice.

At times,

I’d buy a mango,

At times,

I’d speak your name.

The rum would slur your syllables.

I’d readjust my aim.

Immeasurable passion kept the two rogue lovers warm.

Caught in Dante’s Inferno, now we’re hurled by vicious storms.

I felt as if that fruit would manifest your swift return,

but no amount of sweetness could deter the scathing burn.

These days I sit in neon rooms,

when darkness steals my day.

The mangos are no longer here.

I fight another day.

April 27 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on 2Chronicles 29-31

Key Verse – 2 Chronicles 29:2-2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done. He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY VESSEL REPAIRER

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your sanctifying purification
Thank You for cleansing my filthiness, trespasses and transgression
And my offerings of wrong motives’ devotion
As You receive my sin-admission and confession.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your covenant-fulfillment
Thank You for rebuking my negligence by Your judgment
And my disobedience toward Your commandment
As You propel my commitment.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your joyous presence
Thank You for checking my sacrifices’ lack of essence
And my heart’s need for upright service-iridescence
As You brighten my servanthood’s rejoicing effervescence.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your biblical standard
Thank You for reproving my feeling of insufficiency as Your steward
And my displeasure for being a coward
As You enclose my submission around Your compassion’s guard.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your lawful principle
Thank You for listening to my prayer that’s sincerely simple
And my struggle causing worrisome ripple temple
As You direct my worship to Your holy temple.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your perfection-finishing
Thank You for attending to my frustration’s languishing
And my discouragement against advancement-flourishing
As You watch over my consecration by Your gracious furnishing.

Lord God, You are my vessel Repairer… along Your blessed peacefulness
Thank You for increasing my faith needing steadfastness
And my trust that calls for sturdiness
As You discipline my slothfulness.

Premium Member HER EYES IN YOUR EYES

HER EYES IN YOUR EYES

She carried another life inside her, hidden like a river beneath the ground,
she never showed her pain — her face was a wall, silent and holy;
nothing could be read on that face of amber and cold ash —
my consciousness is searching for her still, through every night that passes.

Young and wild — she left one evening and never came back,
the road swallowed her the way the sea swallows a shore of sand, wrung dry;
twenty years in their flower — a corolla torn before it could come whole —
and no one asked anything, and no one came looking for her again.

She never complained — and her silence was heavier than a mountain,
once she opened her mouth to say something — and it was the last time — a bridge
broken between what was and what might have been — a wound with no face —
and the world moved on, indifferent, like wind through sand.

When I see your eyes, hers come to me like two extinguished stars,
and the blood freezes in my veins at the thought of the same doors left open;
I do not want her pain to touch you ever, not even with a shadow —
I would hold you in my palms like a candle lit on the darkest evening.

What would a father do to the man who shattered his only world?
There is nothing I would not do, if your life stood on a bridge of steam;
I could not save her — my hands came back empty out of the wind —
but you I will not let slip through my fingers into the ground.

Her eyes look at me out of your eyes as out of a well with no bottom,
and in every look of yours I bury her again and hide her once more;
she carried another life inside her — and no one saw, and no one asked —
and I hold her hand, until even the night will be a clean beginning.

Premium Member Calling to the Child Within

Within a tree awash with song,
the branches tremble, bright and strong.
Each bird proclaims its radiant verse,
in a soaring chorale, the winds disperse.

You answer back; your voice takes flight.
A child again, in humbled light.
The chains of age fall loose, unbound.
Play returns with a joy profound.

A child’s world is tame with acclaim.
For everything there is a joyful game.
Imagination ignites and flies.
A world reborn through child-like eyes.

A stick becomes a gleaming sword,
a castle in the sand much adored.
A box, a ship with sails unfurled,
Has pirates laughing in jolly roger world.

A puddle swells to oceans wide.
A feather drifts where dreams abide.
Each pebble hums; each breeze takes wing.
As laughter crowns the Earth in flight.

Imagination is what turns the key,
opening doors to pure simplicity.
It calls the child to rise and show,
the joy that makes our spirits glow.

Summon the child within by name.
To dream, to sing, to rekindle the flame,
in a way, that you'll never be the same.
Becoming a child again, at play in the frame.

In Pursuit of Happiness

Does happiness only live in story books?
The people that are happy seem to always look the same, a perfect grin on their faces, I want that grin

I am in pursuit of a perfect grin…happiness

They must have all they need, I can’t even imagine what living happily means …my inner man struggles, we are always at war; Searching for a better tomorrow
Happy people must live in a place where depression has no open doors

I want that perfect life …I am in pursuit of that grin …I want to live in happiness where the sun unfolds its beauty every morning and the moon has a smiling face singing lullaby at nights… I am going to live there, in that happy place.
