History Rising from the Sea

Treasure from the sea
Golden doubloon
Sixteenth century artifact
By ancestors hewn

Earth's history lays buried
Beneath five oceans
As undersea tremors
Create violent commotions

Freeing from Spanish galleons
Precious metals, gemstones,
To greet early beachcombers
History on loan

Memories of bygone ages
Scattered on the sand
Finally kissed by sun again
While in a searcher's hand

I pursue this morning trek
With Atlantis on my mind
Seeking proof at last
In treasures I might find

When ancient civilations
Seem to disappear
Comb the beach, you might find
The evidence is here

For from a phoenix rising
New finds appear each day
And I'll not stop searching
Till doubts I can allay

Caroline and I shared of love of water - she the ocean and I lakes and Puget Sound. Her poems flow like tides - effortlessly - with bits of wisdom scattered like treasures of seashells or driftwood found on the beach. This poem speaks of our mutual love of beachcombing for treasures and the pondering of history brought to mind by life's flotsam.

The poem below represents my tribute to Carolyn.

Girl on a Dolphin

Stargazing ocean pixie
Rides the playful weathered waves
To surf the ocean tides
With laughing dolphins
Leaps to catch Delphinus
Starfarer in a star bound chrysalis
To ride this five star celestial constellation
On heaven sent lapis astral waters
Wearing moonstones like Apollo’s poetry
Where starry Aquila flies to Lyra’s music.

Salt spattered waves only gaze
At a girl – eternal sea sprite –
That sits atop a stellar dolphin
And feels the shell torn loss
Of feet that danced through tidal pools,
Delight and awe surging through her signature,
As time bound day searches midnight legends
To align in twinkling sidereal day –
A quest for remnant memories in verses
Of a star born spirit – girl riding on a dolphin.

The constellation Delphinus is made up of five stars and can be seen between the constellations of Aquila, the Eagle, and Lyra, the Lyre. It is named for two Greek legends based on dolphins one of which tells of Apollo setting a dolphin in the sky in gratitude for saving the Greek poet Arion. Apollo is the god of music and poetry.

These verses, woven with passion and grace?,

words that linger, like whispered wind, on fire.
Imprints left, in hearts, deeply pinned by desire.

Beneath the illumination of the elliptical moon,
Within the cove of diamond bay, waves gently sway
Back and forth, under the oceans clarity of the big blue,
As the surfs foam and spray roll against the white sandy
Beaches beyond.
Hush the breeze whispers to the gulls above, hush, hush now,
Be still, for soon they will come, but these chatter snappers.
Refuse to yield in their battering’s scrawling, until the ocean
Itself-lashes out at them to be quiet.
In the silence of the timeless, in the paused hush of the
Aquatic wilderness, something stirs.
Behold the leaping lords of the blue abyss,
Breaching upwards, as if to tenderly kiss the moon above,
Thanking it for another day of life, to live wild and free,
Beneath the waves of infinity, of the big blue.
Dancers on fins of grace, seemingly toe stepping on the
Waves in a delicate balance, just for a second of brilliance
Display, while others incline in a somersault acrobatic
Air assault, to pay homages respect to the magnificent
Ocean for its eternal beauty, and salvation's refuge.
These gray phantoms of the divine ethereal realm,
Born with purity’s heart of innocence, true creatures
Of light and love, shine in the diamond star dust of twilight.
Birthed within the quaking wake of the lords divining hands,
At the moments his voice rose, in the beginning of time itself,
Dividing the light from the darkness, the dolphin took its first
Air breath of life, and the Lord Almighty,
Smiled down upon his aquatic creation with warmth and love.
Perfections free falling divers, enchanting the human heart
With their graceful swiftness, stealth and intelligence.
The sailor’s guardians at sea, these vigilant sentinels of the
Briny depth, follows the surging storms hailing, and await
To assist in the deist hour of humanities greatest need.
Within their loving pod, the young are nurtured by devotions
Breasts of giving, no tender a mother can ever be found
Then she the dolphin, born from the grace of God himself.
In the silence of the timeless, in the paused hush of the
Aquatic wilderness, something stirs beneath the waves
Of clarity.
Behold the leaping lords of the blue abyss,
Breaching upwards, as if to tenderly kiss the moon above,
Thanking it for another day of life, to live wild and free,
Beneath the waves of infinity, of the big blue.

Loving life hid beneath rim of cool ceramic bowl
Tree frog claimed proud place, toilet's homely hole
Enamoured by his simple palace making stance
I bend to peer at his green grip toe stick, entranced

My ordinary admonished by gaze from onxyx eyes
Quick reflex and instinct, skills by which Frog relies
Shine of black marble smartness lures me nearer
Knowing even with my bulk, I'm somehow inferior

Rubber eyelid winks, peels open again enlarged
Eye wrinkles droop to hammock, I'm encouraged
To nestle within humid folds, shrunk human glued
Oscillated in his lid lures languishing duly procured

Spun suddenly, rubbery cocoon cosy lurches erratic
Some worry occurs I'll drown outside skin hammock
Prior to paranoia taking over, thrown from dizzying ride
Launched into stark big bowl with steep slippery sides

Swim in cistern spew strangely renders me cleansed
Lap in lurid blue sends me to inevitably to S bends
Whooshed and flushed with refreshed perspective
Dark harassed by diffused hues tug seductive

Dolphin derived, my smooth unphased by spiralling
Saturated zones, ease honed, enamour never tiring
Snorkel hole snorts water, puffs readily on its purification
Imbibing combines giddy with clarity, senses' temptation

My forehead flicked flirtatiously by wide flamingo flippers
Splayed feathers fan surface, showcase dance floor shimmer
Cabaret her costume, shakes crystal bead rainbow release
Ravishing precise pirouettes prim pink princess completes

Her curved beak caresses my porthole brain, rubs insistantly
Into warm walnut shell weapon I'm swallowed quite quickly
I spy through pomegranate seed eye, mirror lake unswayed
Stilled kindly by wind's nonexistance, decision to travel made

Climbed to bird's tiny tiara topped crest, covered in feathers
Graceful lace tu- tu floats my aquatic future endeavour
Bouyed weightless and grateful, flip draws no resistance
Swim in S bend treasure, trip of sight resumed brilliance

*** Spring has sprung!!
      - in Australia
      My branch beyond
      The tired pond
      of Earth, awakes
       Imminent Heaven
      (perhaps)
*** A collapse of facts
      Flight of flamingo regalia
      Revel in place of waste
       - Mystery flush takes
      on its S bend

Oh wow. Oh great. Look over there. Quickly now. Come on. It is the mitigating migrating mammoth mansions. Brick by brick and bone by bone. In a line. Travelling. Traversing the plains, fields and mountains but not on roads for roads are neither natural nor normal so always wear a tea cosy hat when pouring tea at a tea party. It is to show not to shine that has the sun in a pondering and philosophical mood. The auric rays are neither a moon sitting in a tree nor are they a kayaking planetary alignment. High seas then create high teas. Whirling in circling dresses of spotted green. But never in a greenhouse does one find a tomato in a tantrum. For tomatoes are very very mild mannered especially when given a drink. And this is good for compost can be crafty and doesn't like moods. A wafer thin biscuit is a flat chested mermaid moving around at the dusk. By the marina. Catching a glimmer is easy for the eyes of the octopus in an office with high rimmed glasses. Circle then dash. Tick tick tick. Form done. Signed. Signatures separate stagnant stale stupors. And the fat wading brat bird yawns on a front bench in a large ornately decorated room. How common. And yet rather uncommon is the master of the seaweed sermon whose speakers are never wise upon answering questions and questions are rarely answered so why play noughts and crosses with a jute duty bug? Inheritance is not to be placed in a kissing box for boxes are to be reserved for tiny biscuits who march around chaotically chairing and chanting at quite important times. Thus causing a lot of little flowers to sigh and droop their heads in an apathetical style. In a scrapbook posy position. The layout is not the layer and the label is a laugh. Numeration of a numerator is a numerical nautical nonchalant nerd. And the beast of the best bank is not to be trusted with a styrofoam cup. No never gi e it that cup. Always give it a baby bottle. For it is ignorant and infantile. Beware of the two foot clam in that drawer then when you are putting socks away. Hahaha a mist is coming to play cards and monopoly with a tree top, a hill, a perfume factory, and a zoo. Hahaha dolphin and duet with a dancing seahorse at a grand opera. Xxxxx desensitization Z now eat a nice scone and sing la la la to a doorframe. Z peacocks.

blindfolded he came close to the edge of the cliff

that he was sure of because vertigo taunted him

decision time sprung open like a grandfather watch

on his knees he felt the spray of a thunderous sea

swirling foam covered his soaked quest for direction

but all side of escape seemed to be covered in spindrift

the journey so far had been kind yet now he was helpless

a flock of puffins shouted ‘move at your perilous fancy’

they mocked the traveller now for past transgressions

‘if only I had taken a different route’ he roared in despair

‘should have stayed closer to the confines of my home’

he regretted that he exposed himself for adventure

he nestled the silver chain that suspended the time piece

prayer beads on his lost mind and clouds with no lining

puppet strings attached to every conceivable move

one wrong step and he would free fall and instantly crash

shatter into reckoning under the impact of judgement

join the underworld without reprieve and atonement

a beacon of meaning in waiting he felt thorns of wild gorse

it smelled like coconut sun lotion on a beach of no return

maybe he could hold on to the scratched withering soil

in the thicket of memories and tribulations he was not aware

that his corrosion had positioned him on a stacked rock

surrounded by the ocean beyond measure of safety

he listened to the ticking time bomb in his scorched hand

resolved to accept the verdict with no leave to appeal

surrender and throw caution to an all knowing wind

just then a tornado lifted him up into a sky full of pressure

defied gravity as an appropriate response to lost choices

wondered whether he joined seagulls or the call of a dolphin

eternity transcendence and levitation ensued in split seconds

of fragmented solutions of high waters and heavenly respite

maybe he had lived his whole life for this moment of bliss

turbulence and commotion tore away the camouflaged mask

revealed his true persona as feet touched the very same spot

sleepwalking had taught him another lesson of letting go

The fish needs the anemone; the anemone, the fish
The pollen needs to be the bumble bee’s most precious wish
There’s fishes that frequent the mouths of huge man eating sharks
There’s places where I walk my dog, where he, at nothing, barks

The dragonfly leaps into flight, how does he know he can
A dolphin will attack a shark… to save his fellow man????
A chick will clamber from an egg and when he’s fully grown
He’ll fly five thousand miles to find a land he’s never known

All of this is cool and yet defies all explanation
So what on Earth created everything in every nation
Coincidence or accident, the odds just made it so
When mother nature’s dice were bad, she took another throw

Do I marvel at the splendour of the stars or moonlit nights
Do I smile when on a lavender a butterfly alights
It’s truly hard to comprehend; to find a rationale
For each astounding thing in this whole world - or this locale

Some say it’s evolution and the rest say we should pray
As though it’s Mother Nature or a god made things this way
But nature plays a game of chance; things work or don’t last long
I wonder at the notion that a god might get things wrong

There’s negatives… volcanoes, earthquakes, famines and tornadoes
I’d like to think a watchful god would save us all from those
I know not who or what made planet blue ’pon which we live
But when I see the truth my full allegiance I shall give

For all the birds and all the bees and all the plants and all the trees
Shall fill my heart with joy but shall not bring me to my knees
And yet our science tells us that it started with a bang
Which, some say, is as likely as, “Then all the angels sang.”

But all of us - you, them and I - are mortal as that butterfly
Will answers come the day we die, or will our souls lay down and cry
Will we float into the light with no fears, needs nor appetites
Or will we simply cease to be, with no more days and no more nights

I gaze at all the wonders that form part of all that is
And I don’t know if they are nature’s work or they are ‘his’
I envy those who have the faith; for me, I make this call
How lucky have I been to witness all of this at all?

CHAKRAS BOLD

CHAKRAS BOLD

HE designed root red via
a laugh so raucous creating
world wild rumbling random
rubies rolled ruling red
thunderous winds whirling
shimmering shocking floods
Emperor Supreme spearing
stimulate Mother channels
birthing babes to cuddle
sword sheath bloody
red is my beneath !

HE designed my womb
occult oracle orange
oceanic openings obliging
receive that which swims
into the deep to hear
obituaries or observe
creation’s octahedral
cathedrals octaving to
behold bold olive and oak
OM is where I rest divine
operatic orange sublime

HE designed my navel
with its surrounds golden
solar yellow mighty ignite
magnetise miracles for
better sight savouring
power for hours exuding
fires roaring pouring will
enduring strength for miles
and miles adoring gold
burnished bold plexus
platinum yellow nexus

HE designed my Heart
full blown DaVinci art
Picasso could not compete
green moss spring soft
therein pirouetted daisies
in swirling whorls fading
Mozart’s maddening
crescendoes crying
veils upon veils to
enticingly whisper
‘Come, bride, come’

HE designed my throat
a singing topaz blue
so true to cobalt hues
anew each teal
dolphin silent sprang
Truth trout sighed
sky blue signal smoke
softly sowed sweet
royal kaleidoscopes
herald harmonic hopes
pop songs wrote

HE designed forehead a
deep indigo isle circled
in vintage fashion
twisted ivy presented
EYE of all eyes an
empress ringlet ruffle
to and fro pondering
pupils so deep diving
turbulent storms to keep
in comfort who adores
my adorings roly holy

On my head Valentine
Supreme valanced a
valuable vortexed venture
vaned a thousand petals
a halo not exposed to
winged shadows shady
so my wondrous wispy
wisdoms you may emit
from this lotus crown fast
feather ferns fathom to
fit fetish dream atoms

O ! Lord of Lords !
in red orange gold
green blue indigo
white to sight heights
I bathe in your colours
behold arms embrace
so chaste to post my
poems in coloured
posies haste so
comely these chakras

Eyes, in such a way, that some strange virture, some everlasting release
Was imparted to he. A strange bargain indeed; to resist the gods and to please
Satan in his rebellioin from all that was natural, yet also noxious
After a tie; for, to what end unlimited perfection…..it would seem abnoxious
With no end in sight; and big oaks and trees seeming mortal, yet not dying
Ever guessing His source, teasing their mysteries and playing

And their relation to Adam; her husband, not by choice
But a program counter-intuitive; such that her voice
Would only ever be a mere shadow, a gaunt echo
Of Adam and his Masters booming light, much like the gecko
Who hides softly and silkily in shade cool and damp
Or the giant elephant loping about clumsy who only seems to tramp

‘Why this gecko seeking moist air, when the sun chokes his breathe
Or the elephant, whose stampde maks him an unwelcome guest.
Not content to merely laugh at the huge trunk of the dromedary and his tusk
To reach up and grab his elephantine robes and to smell his musk
Likely she grew tired of the large mammal and his heavy hoof beats
Relentlessly poundingthe earth beneath, hearing him, perhaps from Africa to Crete

And caused the rumbling which finally toppled the walls of those fair cities Minoan
Or how else did the Kingdom of Knossos fall, so far, the ancient site shows a window
Of perfect harmony and bliss an ordered society and blest, with violence well at bay
The Idylli morals deepset in grape and olive, crushed sunset with sailors at play
Riding on top of dolphins and drinking from the boot, gathering for the store-house
Oil, Wine and Wheat; preparing for competition with glove to box or race to trod---no man a louse

It would seem this island fantasy a paradise much like that mentioned in Genesis, Eden
Where the rule of the monarch rested lightly on the people; and men had ample time to find their abundant pleasure, among the dolphin or minotaur
Where pictures depict gymnasts leapingover bulls and by so doing pass the bar
Of manhood in such simple and playful way, with manly innocence
They had proven their version of the garden—With good sense

Teardrops From Bitter Clouds

5/21/11-5/22/11

They told me it was going to be sunny
I decided to go to the beach
Blue beauty…
No, I’m not the same as you can see

I soar off like a distant train
swaying…staying
Connected to the tracks
overwhelmed by rain
You weepie...
don’t you know who made sorrow?
Wait…do not scurry
Tearless for tomorrow
because that day will bring forth
Brighter dusks…hidden beneath the surface

Wherever we roam,
I’ll collect the foam
from the attacking waves
Masked with bitterness
led by the wind
Bitter clouds sending rain
I guess I’ll remain
Home alone
And watch a pale moonlight
Shone in my withering curtains
I’m certain
There will be brighter days
in this summer vacation
that’s next in line
where we will dine
forever on a soaring tide
clueless…undefined

Overcome the clouds…
Let out victory
Let them know
The key to life is positivity
Or treasured love
Beneath the surface
In other words,
You are marvelous…a blue beauty
You are a dolphin against an unfriendly tide
Sending teardrops from bitter clouds
Never meant for harm…
Keep me away from this charm
You send from your silky…
lushing…gushing…
form brushing beside a shipwrecked terrain
Paradise lies in silky clouds
Sending irresistible rain
Sending no doubts
Or heart-breaking reminders
Pouring out acid rain from bitter clouds
Teary skies…how time flies…
Sending drenched-up memories…
Cuddling to the soul
Oh, how time flies
A cruel enemy…how time could be
a loathly fiend
Sending acid rain
From tilted clouds
immediately drains
the hour…unaware of the time

I wish I could fall in your arms
While the bitter clouds alters into charms
Remain positive and fit
Don’t lie in the ocean floor
There is a deep pit…be vigilant
Stay awhile, will you?
Tearless for tomorrow
If you are made out of
Droplets and charms
My smile will warm up
The cloudy day…
and send the rain
Under the water
Under the teary sea
is where our destiny will be
the lovely clouds
will be our shrouds
it tickles my feet
and your wiggling fins

Stay awhile, will you?
Tearless for tomorrow
If you are made out of
Droplets and charms
Snuggle
In my arms
