"The Looped Vision of Futures"
The loop plays non-stop
the needle steps out of time
into the groove of you and me
all of us played for time we are their revelry
hockey pucks struck by
the quiet hidden demons
smiling and licking their lips
already tasting our souls on a vicious ice field
lives matter no matter the colour of political greed
time repeats over the record cracks
verdicts and untruths the bells ringing out
once the song of that king of civil rights now forgotten
the bill players kiss each other with glee
prayers and confessionals are wasted
on all your wise misspent revolutions
wafers dipped into a book of wagers
profits and losses lost in tombs all black sealed
could questioning minds make poetry
from a death's throat opened to sing
fresh air to breathe
evolve some kind truth
for humanity’s last minute a saved dignity
and still the elephants march into the room
slowly holding in their adrenaline trunks the dry bones of doom
swinging low vibes slyly into our world view
in their silent hidden stoic hypocrisy
are we simpletons not alone
wanting some humanity
sanity dies on the detour neck of a road open
when we are down on our knees
praying for some brevity
shortness of time
waves wash over you and me
in that vacant parking lot we wait
when the war has dissolved
what remains of the forgotten beautiful dream
broken sutures misplaced in a corner
no longer no blue nor no green
some bad dream
shelved on parchment hidden
in cracked pots of clay forgotten in caves
some other world's dark gone wrong history
ignored,
ghost wars
crying out
caught and unheard
for some Light and some peace
(LadyLabyrinth / 2021)
It devoured me
Changed me
Made me anew
But because of this monster
Mine heart is askew
I left my baby teeth
Upon the church floor
My shoes at the doorway
Covered my open sores
Told my mind fairytales
Of faeries and witches’ spells
But my mind’s eye knew
I can’t hide this purpled bruise
I wear rotting chains
Forever on my wrists
Moving painstakingly slow
Towards the world’s abyss
Their eyes tell me shouts
Of how I could be
If I wasn’t held down
By the villain who sought me
But I’m a silly little child
Just a little pet
I shall believe the lies
That say I can’t,
Not yet
The cracks are painted over
Not gold or silver
But a rotting green clover
That begins to whither
The more dreams creep in
The more lies they believe
Now I’m burnt out
And I don’t know how to scream
I’m here, but not
I lie, but I believe
I’ll let myself die again
Let me be conceived
Rafters shake in irritation, as if to say what their excuse?
It could be him, it could be her, but there's no love when there's abuse
A temper flames, then brings a tear. It sears self-worth, again...again
Someone there has claimed the right and then the pain.....again...again
...The cracking whip of lashing tongues, where ridicule is wearing thin
A lightning strike, and anger spikes and victims die in little bites
It's somewhere close, a house nearby, we may not know, it goes unseen
But seams are ripping someone's life, every day, every night
stripping pride and self esteem
With little thought, for what they do....is it someone you might know?
With no excuse, could it be you? Or if it's not, what will you do?
Between the cracks one hears the taunts, wearing old familiar hats
Each shingle fears another hour......of rain that comes behind the fire
Is it your street, beyond the gate, another storm, regret too great ?
Does hope still cling, where love is sought?...
Is this called love...? It's clearly ....not

Mine is the duty to scream
Mine is the duty to shout
My country is bitterly divided
Its Congress can't figure things out
The rich get richer; the poor get poorer
That in itself's nothing new, but
Instead of seeking to forge solutions
Leaders, hateful invective spew
Mine is the duty to scream
Mine is the duty to shout
American's immigration system, broken in every way
Lurches ahead blindly, ignoring those who say
That vice-ridden schools yield test scores so pathetic
Even the heardest of hearts should be sympathetic
To calls for more charters and increased home schooling
Lest Johnny never learn to read anything, no fooling
While America's safety net is strained past its limits
Forced to provide for so many illegals with no stake in it
Mine is the mandate to shout
Mine is the mandate to scream
Venezuela self-destructs right in front of our eyes
As Cuba sixty years ago, it shoud be no surprise
That her leader cracks down on free institutions
And tears up every line of Venezuela's Constitution
Three millions Venezuelans have already left
Now that their economy of oil is bereft
To the cheers of autocrats the world over
Including the leadership of America's Left
All while Messrs Putin and Xi, in Russia and China, respectively
Ramp up their tacit alliance, to bring the West to its knees
Mine is the call to shout
Mine is the call to scream
~ Though hoarse I've become
Pleading to rescue America's Dream
Under dark protection of the night the gruesome two-some take to flight,
To exhume the grave of the recent buried, in a wheel barrow the bodies ferried,
Body snatchers creep at night, the open coffin brings delight,
Strip bare the corpse of wealth adorned, delivering the body before the dawn,
One with a shovel the other an axe, with powerful blows the coffin cracks,
The lid split open the crypt undone, access gained to the disrespectful ones,
Cold as ice the body lay, undisturbed until this day,
Burke reached in to rob the dead, as Hare watched on, his greed be fed,
"Help me Hare this one is stuck", his feet were sinking in the muck,
But Hare looked on his face turned grey, as Burke was being pulled away,
The ground beneath began to crumble, as Burke and Hare began to stumble,
The grip of fear had them tightly bound, as the corpse took hold of both their Hands,
Burke screamed "For God's sake help this is no joke", and that was when the Spirit spoke,
"Burke and Hare your fate is sealed, by the hand of death from which you steal,
Tonight The body snatchers me, as I ferry your souls on deaths black sea,
I take your life's to pay your debt,
Too long you taunt and tease the dead",
The ground opened up and fire shot through, the screams of torment echoed Through,
As Burke and Hare could not break free, from the depths of hell they could not flee,
Falling deeper underground, their bodies never to be found,
Yet listen close by graves at night, and you will hear their screams of fright,
A warning as they burn in hell, never desecrate a corpses shell.
A heart that breaks in silence wears the brightest, widest smile,
She walks a thousand lonely steps to go the extra mile.
A pillar made of glass and grace, she holds the world upright,
While tucking all her own dark storms away from public sight.
She mends the wings of others though she cannot even fly,
And catches every falling tear with no one asking why.
They rest within her steady hand and take what she can give,
They love the strength she offers them, but not the life she lives.
For though she acts the mountain, she is crumbling from the strain,
A masterpiece of hidden cracks, a soft and silent rain.
HEROIC TRIBUTE
In the solemn silence of Logan’s resting place,
Two heroes stand, somber, face to face.
Captain America, noble and just,
Deadpool, unpredictable, filled with trust.4
Their friend laid to rest beneath the ground,
Memories of battles lost and victories found.
Captain America, burdened with heavy heart,
While Deadpool cracks jokes, playing his part.8
Logan, a legend, now forever gone,
But his spirit lingers, still living on.
In this graveyard where heroes weep,
Eternal bonds of friendship they'll forever keep.¹²
With a solemn salute and a shared embrace,
They honor their friend in this sacred place.
Captain America and Deadpool, an unlikely pair,
Bound by loss, in a moment rare.¹6
Their footsteps echo in the quiet gloom,
As they leave the graveyard, towards the moon.
A tribute to Logan, a hero so true,
In the hearts of friends, he'll always renew.²°

Among a society
Obsessed with notoriety
I get occasional anxiety
Can't always find privacy
Still a battle with sobriety
A drawn out process or soon to pass
Continual polluted gas
Another disillusioned ass
Followed by yet again brutal acts
I'm always falling through the cracks
Down beside sewer rats
Couldn't find me on Google maps
Who is god?
I always move along
Through the fog
Never meaning to do it wrong
Continually my life in question
Like I never go in the right direction
Too much time and bedlam
A struggle with a Jekyll and Hyde complexion
Who know's if I'll find ascension
Climb to heaven
Like the legend
A lot
'Round the clock
Ceasing to stop
They think it's a crock, but it is not
Easily I don't place such beliefs
A continual junk heap
The problems run deep
Yet again smoked and drunk myself to sleep
Growing strong
The journey continually goes on
So much keeps going wrong
Sometimes feel like I just don't belong
I'm not even that close to mom
Just not the same as it once was
Paid for it in some blood
Gave it all much love
Yet still they just judge
It makes me upchuck
From sundown to sunup
They always try to one up over such stuff
Time has exemplified
A near endless genocide
Continually being swept aside
Poisoned by pesticide
Never been rectified
The culprit remains unidentified
I stall or march
This has nothing to do with Hallmark
Most are all bark
We are just not in the same ball park
Still making a small spark
Barely able to afford products from Walmart
Soon to fall apart
I could care less about the latest fashion
I go until the point of being blasted
Wake up with no idea of what happened
Down to my last ration
Until the next cash in
During hard times it took adrenaline and passion
A Letter You Won’t Send, Pt. 2
I thought the first letter would be the last.
But pain doesn’t end with words;
It leaks through the cracks,
forcing my hand to write again.
I said goodbye already,
Yet here I am,
Bleeding the same goodbye twice.
We broke no contact two days ago.
I poured my whole heart out to you.
It didn’t change much.
You said you came back because losing me as a lover was enough
But any more would destroy you.
And I agreed, because though I will never stop loving you,
Who am I to deny my own greed?
You said you found a new girl at another school.
That’s nice, I guess.
Funny, though
I hurt you first
But you made sure to hurt me the worst.
I’ve concluded that love only works
when it’s between me and God.
No man could ever take His place.
But I put you so high
I forgot how to let you go.
I tell my friends you’re the worst,
Then cry when you’re hurting.
Ignore you in a crowded room,
Then, I dream of you in the clouds.
Ashamed of how easy I am,
How quickly I fall for every trick.
Hurt people hurt people.
That’s true.
But worse is how much it breaks me
to fall for your random “I love you,
Your desperate cries to make me stay.
All of it was useless.
Because you never really cared.
You never really loved me.
You only loved the idea of me.
And I
I tried to save you.
But the idea of me
It is the worst thing I can offer.
Still, it sucks how I still love you.
Some sick, endless game.
How does one love another
Yet let go so quickly?
I could do it to cope.
Maybe I don’t know why.
It’s just another way to survive.
The world’s a battlefield, a restless stage,
Politics a war, rage upon rage.
Nations clash with words and might,
Underneath the glare of a fractured light.
Donald Trump, a seismic leap,
A tempest roused from the deep.
Voices thunder, crowds divide,
Truth and lies in a tangled tide.
An antichrist, some whisper low,
Dark prophecies begin to grow.
Fear and fire in the minds of men,
History’s shadows rise again.
North Korea, a loaded gun,
Dictator’s moon eclipsing the sun.
Rocket trails cut through the night,
Power draped in nuclear fright.
Europe stands on shifting sand,
Borders blurred by a wary hand.
Unity’s dream, a fragile glass,
Cracks appear as ages pass.
Leaders march to the drum of pride,
While common hearts seek a place to hide.
Peace a dream, war a dance,
Hope the thinnest thread of chance.
