I’m excited, I got a job
I now work for Bob Bob’s Gob Shop
They asked me to stand outside and sell
These white packets, of what I cannot tell
But I was shifting the goods a hundred an hour
I felt alive excited and empowered
Mothers and fathers were buying off me
And giving their kids, who named the stuff LSD
I didn’t hear it clearly at first,
Until I was arrested and that’s when I feared the worst
The police took me to their van
God only knows I tried to run and then… Man,
I got the tasered,
And did a twenty-five second bad imitation of Bob Marley crossed with Jo Fraser
They called me a dope peddler
An addict enforcing meddler
The cops tasered me again and beat me up
Then left me laying in a pile, yelping like a helpless pup
Then took me to a room with a table that had a pile of white powder,
And three inch black sticks they called hash, my mouth went sour.
They questioned me further demanding who was my supplier
As they kept me dancing at the end of the taser wire
I screamed Bob and Bob of the Gob Shop
They stopped and said this must be their under cover job
Just then the chief of police walked in
He looked at me with that we gotcha grin
He took a bit of the white powder and put it on the tip of his tongue
Then with s surprised look as if he got stung
The chief of police quickly picked me up dusted me off and apologised
He said “Don’t worry sir, I’ll punish these guys”
One policemen said “But sir his a drug dealler, selling LSD?”
“How could you be willing to set him free”
The Chief shouted “YES THIS IS LSD, NOW READ MY LIPS”
“LIQUORICE SHERBET DIPS”
Well as a consolation, I got a house and a car out of them,
Never went back to that job again.
Rain ©
I walk on slick shine streets
in the night with my lover.
Freshly out of bed and ravenous
for other food, he pauses and
licks the tears and rain drops
from my face.
Rain in its many moods
quickens to sweep the earth and
skies clean.
Settles on the skin like a damp
kiss. Cold, warm, sweet, clean,
sharp, rain.
Is designer bottled water
merely rain drops from afar?
The dog romps through the rain,
in his perfect raincoat, oblivious
to the wet.
Blinking owlishly when a drop
should fall into his eye.
Mysterious primates of the forest
sit forlornly, beneath the
umbrella leaf.
Forever patient as the skies
rupture with a torrential deluge.
Human-tender eyes reflect their
disgust and sadness at the wet,
messy coats they must wear.
The equine turn their haunches
to the storm to show their scorn
for nature’s tantrum.
Cats run for cover, sit
majestically removing the
wet rain from their person with a
wet tongue.
Wild fowl dance across the circle
patterns of the pond’s face,
beating their wings and singing.
They frolic and dive celebrating
the sublime circumstance of
being wet.
Man spends energy and money
to keep himself dry and safe
from the rain, darting from
doorway to doorway.
What does he fear? He won’t
melt if he gets soaked, he won’t
become ill or grow fins, and he
just might get clean.
Snow is rain in its wedding attire;
no two brides alike.
The rain drop falls into a rivulet
of other rain drops atop the
mountain.
The rivulet runs into the creek,
the creek into a stream.
The stream rushes to the river
and the river falls into the sea.
The rain drops turn to salty tears
as the journey ends.
It is said that chickens, if left out
in the rain, will lift their heads up
to the sky and watch the rain
until they drown.

Butterflies and Bullets
I stalk my prey, through the dead of night,
Through thick green leaves, the moons soft light.
Vines would melt, from the crowns of trees,
Each paw would lay, under cover of the breeze.
My eyes are golden, my pupils are pierced,
My breathing delayed, my face is fierce.
My teeth are quite sharp, a stained yellow shade,
My coat of burnt orange, to black stripes it will fade.
I’ve locked on my target, branches snap on my paw,
I’m in a state of mind, saliva falls from my jaw.
My breathing stops, my heart slows down,
As the animal I approach, eats leaves from the ground.
The cub by my side, hasn’t quite learned,
The art of stalking, to avoid being heard.
My cover is blown, the animal darts up,
The chase is now on, thanks to my cub.
The animal is fast, darting through the leaves,
But my eyes lock on, to where it weaves.
The leaves and snapped branches, fly through air,
As my golden orb eyes, are latched and stare.
My paws are built, for this kind of terrain,
The hard shelled beans, will feel no pain.
I pounce through lines of morning light,
The rising sun, waves goodbye to the night.
I caught my prey, through the skin of my teeth,
The chase was intense, fast and brief.
My cub comes clumsily, bouncing off the floor,
I stand with bloodied chin, adrenaline to my core.
This animal died, so we could survive,
The battle of nature, to stay alive.
I look up through canopies, of sunlit green,
I see spots of sky, a shade of aquamarine.
I look at my cub, with her hungry tired eyes,
I look at my prey, a missing chunk from its thigh.
Our stomachs are filled, for a few more days,
I respect my prey, on the cold ground it will lay.
Epiphany
My tender pen writes,
Takes me out of hides,
Roller coaster rides,
My emotional tides !
My life in the soup,
Humble magnificent group !
I am dreaming in fast,
Leaving behind my past,
Quick to discover,
I am on soup cover !
It's a gorgeous pun,
A real great fun !
Got warm welcome,
Scuffed out tantrum,
Anticipate friendship and love,
Warmth of hands in gloves !
My life in the soup,
An infectious croup !
Rendezvous face to face,
Drunk to full grace,
My cravings flourish,
To a lifetime cherish !
It's a gorgeous pun,
A real great fun !
My desires thrive,
Contrary to strife,
I am getting lost,
Well iced and frost !
My life in the soup,
A magnificent group !
My terminal Cupid,
I can't be more stupid ,
An eternal abode,
I infatuate , I explode !
It's a gorgeous pun,
A real great fun !

First place win
Everyone really knows me
As always being loopy and light
Though sometimes I can be serious
Silly usually wins the fight
It's really just quite recently
Good time Charlie is king
I used to get extremely emotional
At the slightest little thing
Which one would I rather be?
A small wee bit of both
The romantic side is warming
But I like my happy side most
Perhaps it's just a cover up
So my feelings don't get hurt
Joking and making fun of things
As life throws out its dirt
How many people can really say
They're happy in their skin?
I hereby make it known to all
I'm the happiest I've ever been

This a poem for our Dads with "collaborative verses" from my students who wrote poems for their DADS since Father's Day in our country is on June 16, 2024.
Daddy dearest, you're my first ever loving human fortress
always a hero, affirming my being as God's gift
directing, driving me toward victory...
Dad, in storms and trials you're my cover
you keep me in your arms, making me feel better
all you want for me is to do well and spiritually prosper.
You help me everyday
teaching me to walk God's way
to enjoy in the ministry, as in His will, I stay. (Daniel)
Dad, you are my security from harm
along your sweetness and firmness
serving as my shield
while shouldering responsibilities
midst life's challenges. (Anthony)
Dad, you're a refuge from calamities
providing our home a place of protection
with your kindness, compassion, and wisdom
enabling me to face obstacles with steadfast courage. (Jared)
Dad, your love and faith assure me
with calm joy as well as constant peace
filling up my soul with warm sunshine...
your instilled enabling makes me handle
whatever comes my way. (Enzo)
Papa, in your prayer's fervency
your love abounds
guiding me toward God's light...
thankful I am for your help
so I can write my own story
surely incomplete without your presence. (Dorothy)
Papa, grateful I am for the strength of your love
a reminder that I'm never truly alone
indeed, with your care and nurture
I find the courage to face the unknown. (Keilah)

Can't always be a fair bout
Got to air it out
Very little I've cared about
There's no need for prayers or doubts
You say I am, yet to me you sound delirious
I can't take you serious
One of many things that makes me furious
There's no better time to be imperious
Still remaining curious
About the mysterious
Finding the answer through luck or hard work and experience
There's no need to grovel
Occasionally god-awful
My impact minor or colossal
Learned it first-hand or through a novel
Breakfast of coffee and a Belgian waffle
The job done with a hose and nozzle
Still looking for love, while digging for fossils
People often acting hostile
Having tunnel vision like seeing through goggles
No time for drama, only money, got to hit the throttle
The last thing I need to do is sip out bottles
Fought for there to be new growth
Often I cut it too close
Even though you'd hope
That I would croak
We could both
End it on a good note
Among so many good folks
So many enlightening books wrote
Yet too often they say it 'looks gross'
Judging by the cover
Breaking down each other
Including our own brothers
The cycle continues on with no buffer
Think of your mother
Why cause one another
Or yourself to suffer
Did my best to keep my slate clean
Learned a ton since I was eighteen
No need to sit and daydream
Very far from make-believe
it if they tease
Lady we make a great team
So it may seem
Hey Queen
Would you like to go out for coffee or a BBQ with baked beans?
If not, how about relaxing and enjoying a faint breeze
In order to get it, it'll take cheese
Continuing to gain speed
I'd pick you daisies
Dig deep getting scraped knees
In order for us to both break free
You'll always be more than a main squeeze
I'd sacrifice myself so that we all can attain peace
This is way beyond a campaign speech
We grew up different even if we were on the same street
It occurred quickly or for more than eight weeks
Quit trying to always make a scene
If you just want to hate and cheat
Then please take a seat
Serve you justice for being a snake and creep
This all having nothing to do with a datasheet
Our eyes met
Across the room
The sight of her
My heart went boom
Her shiny hair
Skin so fair
Slimline body
Shaped to stare
I introduce
Myself to her
Her accent sweet
Perfect purr
Drinks drunk
We make our leave
Joining hands
Like a weavers weave
Late night walk
Hand in hand
The talk is sweet
Of the loving kind
We stop and share
A dreamy kiss
As we read our minds
Eventful wish
Back at mine
I pour us drinks
Moet Champagne
To me she winks
Close we hold
Each others frame
Dancing slow
With this gorgeous dame
Adventurous hands
Explore each other
Naked flesh
Revealed from cover
As i hold her close
Her breasts charm me
Pert icons
Caress me
My manly hands
Run through her mane
Down her spine
To my wanting aim
Her curves so arced
Architectural gem
As she gently strokes
My wanting stem
She takes my hand
And sits me down
Astride my thighs
Slides on my crown
Slowly we share
Each others joy
As we pant and groan
This girl and boy
Throbbing bulge
Inside her heavenly cave
To adorn her walls
Our pulsing craves
I pull her in
As we release our flows
Joyous moans
As our bodies glow
We kiss and enjoy
Our united mix
As our tongues unite
With passioned slick
We share a shower
And lay down our heads
Cuddling close
In a silken bed
I awake in the morning
To a note left near
Beside the message
The drawing of a tear
Last night my dear
I was blessed like a dove
Your my one night stand
My negative love

O' Lord my Father God
In my soul songs of thanksgiving giving;
My spirit surges on keeps breathing;
On the way of my rebirth;
I cross the path, of God's righteousness;
Because you delight in me
He delivered me- You delivered me
He delivers me-You delivers me)
From the strong enemy
From those people, those things
For when they were strong over me;
God set me free;
Because you delight in me- because you delight in me
You prevented me
From falling and failing in my calamity
In the day of my calamity
It shall not ever be
For I'll will and shall be set free
Awesome is you love, you sent down from above
My Lord, my God delivered me
Because He brought me forth;
Lord you bring me forth, you brought me forth;
You are my favorite force
Unto you I geed and hear your voice, you are my holy choice
You cover me
In me there shall not be, no calamity why?
Because you delight in me
Because you delight in me

Days to weeks to months to years
As time goes on it dries the tears
A tissue for a heart that weeps
Less sad dreams and better sleeps
Though waiting for the time to pass
Can take so long, a minute lasts
An hour, and an hour's like
Fourteen days and thirteen nights
The weight comes off, no appetite
The beard gets long, you're quite the sight
While going down heartbroken street
The key is just stay on your feet
Keep on walking, don't turn 'round
Time and you will cover ground
And then one day the sun will shine
The birds will sing, the weather's fine
And when you shave off all that hair
You'll realize those were always there
You hadn't noticed the sublime
Sit down to eat, it's breakfast time
