You can take an agency tour
Or a cruise to somewhere exotic.
You can cram onto buses and trains
Or sway on a camel hypnotic.
You can stand on your toes in a group
And try to see o’er the crowd,
To possibly glimpse Mona Lisa
Or hear, though the noise is so loud.
Instead of coming home tired
And set for a week in your bed
Travel the way that’s relaxing
And see more and hear more instead.
I’ve traveled the high Himalayas,
Seen mountains and valleys galore
Trudged with the yaks and porters-
No frostbite, no blizzards, no sores.
From ocean to ocean I’ve wandered
Seen whales and dolphins at play,
Walked in Australia’s Red Center
Without face nets to keep flies away.
I’ve learned much about native people,
Their customs, their habits and lore.
I’ve even been south to Antarctica
And oh, to so many sites more.
And all of this time I was sitting
In my living room lounging chair,
Dressed in pajamas and bathrobe
With books piled around in my lair.
My armchair’s a magical carpet
That whisks me wherever I wish
No planes or lines of security
Just a turn of a page and –whish!
Polar Bear's Snowball in Hell
there's ten polar bears sitting on an iceberg
a few hundred years from now
their big brave eyes scared, resigned
conspicuously looking out at the horizon
proud once, now sad
the setting sun quickly vanishing, ominous
their lasting sun shine, darkening
their days numbered
with condemned walls closing in
the writing sad
coming to fruition
ice rotten
life is in the balance
teetering, hopelessly
the ten polar bear's noses sniff the air
like the once proud captain of the titanic
the dots connected
doom
reality sinking in, we're sinking
the iceberg keeps floating
ten hearts beating out of control
like the wayward passengers of the titanic
all around the rising sea
the iceberg, like a tomb, like the titanic
species of fish, seals, walruses, penguins
belly up on the surface
eyes looking straight up to the skies, dead
lips miming as if to ask why
the ten polar's bears heart pound harder
tears welling in their eyes
the iceberg quickly melting
the last clutches of their indigenous lands
now a snowball in hell
their kingdom gone
the gates to the other side creaking in
two million years or so of polar bear's evolution
wiped out, soon
giving way to man's ignorance
the effects of global warming
the Antarctica a once vast wonderland
for not
for the impending death of the ten polar bears
and a species
... die in vain

POLAR BEARS - Poetry Contest
In hushed whispers, Mariners told stories,
Of a octopus like cephalopod creature;
With a tentacled beak and jet thrust power,
A creature as long as a school bus.
Scientists dismissed all this as just myth,
But they did admit that there may be;
Giant creatures roaming the dark, deep oceans,
However in 2007 one was netted.
The New Zealand trawler San Aspiring,
Fishing in the Ross Sea of Antarctica;
Netted something, 34 feet long, 1000 pounds,
A giant monster, it was a colossal squid.
But more amazing was that this female,
Was considered a comparative midget;
Colossal Squids can grown to 46 feet long,
They are the largest creatures on Earth.
Having the biggest eyes of any other animal,
The size of basketballs with huge pupils;
Also, it is said that they are highly aggressive,
Even attacking predators like Sperm Whales.
Gouges and battle scars on whales, unexplained,
The gigantic female, in a lab somewhere, frozen.

Verse
For the contest, Giant Animals
Honorable Mention
The truth stood downcast in the lie,
Antarctica ice is melting;
Faster than scientists told us,
Point of no return upon us.
Warm air and less frigid water,
The truth stood downcast in the lie;
We were told not for centuries,
Ice cliffs hundreds of feet- falling.
All caused by greenhouse emissions,
Ice melting- loss of habitat;
The truth stood downcast in the lie,
Polar bears, seals, penguins need ice.
This picture painted is so dire,
Severe storms, flooding and heat waves;
Destruction of Earth is real,
The truth stood downcast in the lie.

Kangaroos bounce lower
for tis the season
some roo laze on their backs
smoke electric cigarettes
Green moments
are discovered in Antarctica
Give your thanks America
give us your huddled elves
your heaving tinsel mountains
sprinkle all our glary nights
Wild-eyed are the rug-rats
they expect a baby-born
one bearing gifts from Toyland
alas alack the three wise guys
took a wrong left in the sand
and found themselves Outback
they waltz now around the billabongs
seeking the vapor trails of large marsupials
and they, the Aussie big boppers
the hoppers, are just chilling
unwilling to face more festive day's
nor shovel up or scoop
yet more reindeer poop
There is so much confusion,
Running rapid…
All over the world people
Hating each other because of the color of their skin,
Children dying from poverty,
Elderly dying no mercy
And Lord you reign high
You surpass the compass
And with only in you are we blessed
Help Lord won’t you help Lord O’ God can you help us…
O’ God I can’t
We can’t do anything, no not nothing
We can’t do anything without you
O’ God I won’t
Spend a day without you
Not a minute without you
And you’re so true
We honoring you
O’ God I can’t do nothing wit out you
Global warming, ravishes the lands
Antarctica shrinking
Endangered species, civilians waring polices
Hatred wars, turmoil
Satan storms humanity burns
Help Lord won’t you help Lord O’ God can you help us…
O’ God I can’t
We can’t do anything, no not nothing
We can’t do anything without you
O’ God I won’t
Spend a day without you
Not a minute without you
And you’re so true
We honoring you
O’ God I can’t do nothing wit out you
My God, My God today I shall always pray
I shall not never spend a minute nor day without you

My heart is freezing cold
Like the fine ice of Antarctica
For I've uncovered the secret to life:
Live today for today—tomorrow will tend to itself.
I've felt the cold sting of expectation
Even sorrow knows my affirmations
Reciting them backward, from end to start
For I can't separate living from death.
Yet like the Penguins of Antarctica
I've relied on fearlessness to endure
To keep the cold and pain at bay
As I navigate life, day by day.
I've reduced my extremities
To make more room for warmth within
Traded fleeting pleasures for more
And freed myself from the weight of unnecessary thoughts.
Ice lady
She lives in Antarctica, She is a Beautiful and perfect woman
Amazing virgin, cristal clean personality, I love her, love, love
She waited for me as a guest, her living place is an ice castle
She lives alone there. Only alone, the queen of the ice world
The lonely queen, the noble soul of the icy world, oh love her
Yes, the perfect woman, unapproachable femininity; cold life
She gave me a guest room. An ice room, with an ice bed. Hell
I slept there, ice blue light glowed dimly in the night, cold mind
The ice door slowly opened, and she came into my room. Sees
She sees and comes closer and sits on my bed. Perfect being
She leaned on me and kissed me. We froze together. Forever.
I can not remember the time, the years, the centuries of our life
We were together for a long time. Motionless couple in love
In the love. An icy virgin destroyed my life, my heart ran away
I love you Antarctica, my dear Miss Antarctica. Your life me on
Love
Ice
Cold
Mind
On
Lady
Icy
On
I
am
gone
for
on
I wanted you to see me shine on stage,
Now the pity’s shown
You and that song really give me a thrill with a hint of rage
My mind’s blown…I’ve finally grown
Old enough to find out that I’m not the only one
I’m not the only one
The only one
The only one who goes through tough times and wish to be gone
Wish to be gone
Wish to be gone
I wish to be gone, but I’ll settle with a better choice
I’m still homeward bound…
Can’t you see?
Let me rephrase that:
Will you ever see?
Will you ever see?
Will you ever see this agony?
It’s so crystal clear during these times of misery
These times of misery
These times of misery has taken a toll on me
Don’t sting me with your jealousy
I’d rather hear you delightfully sing in harmony
With me…I wish it were meant to be
Open up your heart
Open up your heart
Let go of bittersweet hate
Stop procrastinating, mate!
Stop lamenting about the mistakes you’ve made
From where the sun now stands,
I’ve been succumbing to tragedy
How I wish upon Tomorrow with a bouquet of stars
To see you smile that promising smile
Not as cold as ice in Antarctica
Not as cold as ice
Not as cold as ice
Treasuring warmhearted advice
Put your heart at ease
Put your heart at ease
Make sorrow your slave and please
Please, please desert it for a while
Open up your heart
Open up your heart
Torn apart
Torn apart
By your ability of singing so effortlessly
And I feel like I try too hard...sadly
You're so stingy and grumpy sometimes,
But that's okay! I can be that way too!
You’re unlovable at times…
Maybe you're getting over a flu...
You are hitting me
Hitting me hard like a dart
Chained to these cold, cold chambers of indignation
You’re not here to save me...only to tear away at my heart
You’re here to haunt me, not to relieve me…
Relieve me…
Relieve me…
Don't haunt me
Despise me
Taunt me...
Don't mock me...
Humiliate me...
Shame on me..
Shame on me..
For loving you so thoughtlessly
But, I'll be more careful next time
Maybe next time, you won't be as sour as lime
This urge takes over me (this strife cuts me with a sharp knife)
This urge to delete you from my life,
So you can feel my pain,
Dripping continually like acid rain
Takes over me
Takes over me
moonlight falls
silent on snow
frozen towering wild turns its face to ancient sea
the ocean, brooding, darkly gazes back
waves crash on rock
ink upon the shore
beneath the endless starry surface
a world of light and wonder
fall and float among the luminescence
down
down
the kingdom of giants wide awake
among deep time and eons
majestic sirens of the fathoms
call to their kin across the stars
Titan, Ceres, Europa, Earth
sisters, cetaceans, sing
Antarctic abyss keeps its secrets
hidden since creation
epoch after epoch
as it was in the beginning
is now
and ever shall be... until
we meet amongst the midnight
in distant days ahead
