A Once Beloved Icon

I remember only eight years in the past
A once beloved icon shocked a nation
Instantly he became an outcast
disrupting the flow, the Cheeto now hated

A business tycoon with many failures turned successes
Strong, bombastic and not the most polished speaker
Vitriol ensues but he endures the endless stresses
becoming a captivating political leader

To some he was Americas champion, strong on the world stage
To others he was a fascist, ripping away our rights
He was and still is our champion because all we want is change
Others pillage, plunder, burn and loot losing their damn minds

A billionaire that took on the challenge and embraced it
He risks much because he cares, fights for American exceptionalism
Those that revered him now despise him, call him racist
elitists and the news media fill our minds with such cynicism

Shots fired in Butler almost took his life, some believe it was staged
He stands, fists in the air screaming fight, fight, fight
His base of millions became more engaged but enraged
His resolve astonishing heightening his plight

He is now a kin to Hitler as the media turns up the slander
Minds are influenced with distasteful propaganda
No matter if you like him or not, that is never the answer
Yet he fights for what he believes further pushing his agenda

My favorite president, a fighter, a legend, a success
Others see him as a dictator, to our democracy he's a threat
Convictions, fake felonies even then they can't suppress

**I am one of his supporters. If you read this please keep any vile comments to yourself, I'm not the one to attack. We all have our beliefs, you may not like mine and that's fine. Proper discord is healthy for a functioning society and I welcome it.**

Democrats Vs Republicans

Democrats vs. Republicans
Where oh where to begin
If one takes a dive into their lives you would see how one side always wins
For the red light is on, and times have certainly changed
We live in a world that is selfish and becoming more deranged
A house divided cannot stand
America is in fragmented pieces but they don’t understand
Words are cheap when actions lie
I vote for the man who’s in the sky
For he never changes and he really cares
Not these greedy politicians who point and stare
America is about the people who work hard in this life
Yet all our government seems to do is feed on weakness and strife
I am pro restoration,
And anti-abomination
I am pro family unity,
Not superficial comments spoken into our hurting community
A bitter game
It’s such a shame
It’s time for us to give America back its glorious fame
Speak with conviction
Hold up our youth
Burn all the lies and tell them the truth
There’s a generation that’s growing on welfare and government loans
Independence is being broken down by control that is clearly shown
A father fracture has intruded
Many hearts and minds are polluted
Do they care about restoring the family unit as a whole?
Or are they leeches sucking out all our young people’s souls
Purity has been banned
As they raise up sworn hands
I can see the coiling snakes
Oh dear America we have made a terrible mistake
What really matters has been perverse
Like a woman under a tragic curse
Vote for vitality
Not the pagan’s visions of immorality
Vote for untainted officials
Not for men who can’t control their own missiles
Restore the innocence to our children in our music and on TV
Someone be the voice stating that in bondage how can you call yourself free
Another chance, might be our last
Look to the leaders of Americas past,
Discern their virtue and read their soul
Then you will know which way you should go
Take the blinders and finally see
That we are being held captive to a rise of insanity
While we still got power take a missive stand,
Our land was blessed because of the convictions of man.

I lived in Shenzhen, China, for my 6th and 7th grades - China was AMAZING.

In China, blond hair is unusual, I stood out like neon and touching blond hair was considered good luck.

In a train station, if I stood still, I could draw a curious mob - especially in the provinces like Heubi and Shanxi. I was in more than a few selfies but people were polite and respectful.

China is much more advanced than the U.S..
Everything is new, clean and modern - the Internet is faster. Most trains are bullet trains that travel 325kph (>200mph). There are more than 10 new, gleaming cities larger (and newer) than New York.

An App called WeChat (used on your phone) runs the world. Imagine Facebook, iMessage, PayPal and Uber combined - with that one App you could do anything.

At restaurants, you paid your bill at your table using WeChat from a QR code that the electronic corner of your table displayed. You even paid street vendors with the app - no one used cash.

Cameras are everywhere - if you break a law like jaywalking and BBBZZZZ you get a text and the fine is deducted from your WeChat account - all automatically.

Public TV screens, located on corners, show recent violations with the perps picture and the fine they paid - again, automatic.

Does this sound Orwellian? Well, maybe, but Chinese police don't kill people - or even engage people for minor offenses.

America, you're broke and on the edge of being a third world country.

Yeah, yeah, I know that China is free-market-communist and certainly imperfect - but if you saw China, you'd be impressed and you'd know the ugly truth - America has squandered it's wealth on military macho and forty years of war. China's last, small war was in 1980 (With Vietnam who they beat in 3 weeks and 2 days).

Middle America looks almost bombed-out with closed businesses (even before the pandemic) - but in China, you can’t look anywhere without seeing building cranes - like a forest of trees. A physical illustration of Americas loss of wealth.

I LOVE America - it’s sad to see. We've gotta wake up.

Requerimiento

(The Spanish conquerors of the
Americas read out their legal
document, the "Requerimiento",
to the Indians. Failure to comply
meant the Spanish were free to
do what they wanted.)

Conquistadors in Vera Cruz
found themselves a radical ruse.
If pillaging was muy, muy lento,
they just whipped out Requerimiento.

Composed in fifteen seventeen,
this document was ultra-mean.
It won more scraps than Robert E. Lee,
was deadlier than DDT.

Suppose you met an Aztec mob
that wasn't happy to be robbed,
and far from handing on a platter
its gold and silver, wives and daughters,
was minded to contest the matter,

Requerimiento got unrolled.
In legal Latin, gooks were told
with lots of quid and quod and quaem,
exactly what was sought of them.

The royal writ was read aloud
to help the puzzled Aztec crowd.
So none may later look askance,
the dinks got every sporting chance.

All the Aztecs had to do
(clause forty-nine of section two)
was pay the pope an entry fee,
accept infallibility,

and send some gold to line his coffers.
Who could baulk at such an offer?
Clause fifty-eight - the Spanish king
must get his cut of Aztec bling.

They're hazy over "king" and "Spain"?
We'll have long decades to explain.
They don't respond? It simply means
we blow them all to smithereens.

The finer points can wait till later.
Non-compliance means they're traitors.
We've read the thing, so now we're free
of all responsibility

for theft or damage, flood or fire,
and if perchance it should transpire
that they don't dig what's going down,
why, take it up with Cross and Crown.

Thank God it's not like that today.
Before we step into the fray,
we tell them they're a "conflict zone",
and send in laser-guided drones.

If they accept their crude religion
is now a dead and pointless pigeon,
and take divorce and teenage moms,
then we won't use our cluster bombs.

There's other stuff here, on our list -
like Coca-Cola, lobbyists,
The Dukes of Hazzard, John McCain,
obesity and acid rain ...

at least we don't do like before,
and sell them, as we wade ashore
to occupy their ancient land,
some junk they'll never understand.

When Will This Madness End For Poem a Thon 2018

2007 How Much I Despise You

2007 How Much I Despise You

2017 How Much I despise You
Following 2016 the second worst year ever
Will 2018 be any better ?

And what we have suffered
The darkness settles on the land
Like a curse on the land

As our mad demented senile dotard king wannabe
Struts about the worlds stage
Ushering Americas inevitable decline

April 2, Has America Gone Mad?

America’s foes and friends wonder
Has America gone mad
Turing over ultimate power to this man
A con man narcistic criminal

Self proclaimed smartest man in the room
In reality a clueless reality TV hustler
Whose sell by date has expired
As he tries to make America great again
For white Christian men

April 2 American Life and Death

As American struggles
To cope with the ever declining standard of living

The 1 percent loved the stock market
Love the dismantling of the regulatory state
The corporate tax cuts

and the coming plunder of the land
Can Disney Yellowstone be the future?
As America declines
Back to the future

April 2 Heading Back to the Past

While the rest of the world
Embraces the energy of the future
Our great denier of the truth
Wants to boldly take America back

To the 19th century era of oil, and coal
Yet perhaps it does not matter in the end
As long as we have one another
We will overcome
The darkness will flee the land

April 2 When Will this Darkness End

As the darkness settles down on the land
All are consumed with evil
Foul deeds and endless darkness
I wonder if it will ever go away

Yes I wonder if our great nightmare will ever end
Are we doomed to live out the decline of America?
This is what I pray for 2018
The end of the darkness
that consumes our land

Americas Unfinished Business

The woke demand that we devenerate,
revise old statues, plaques and history
of leaders who were once considered great,
as truth confronts a lasting bigotry.

To laud and honor what they represent
supports and propagates a curse and weight,
creating new and growing discontent,
to abrogate old hails to racial hate.

Blind scales of justice failed to understand
and measure damage done by prejudice
across our bountiful dynamic land,
thus adding space to this profane abyss.

But now new rays of liberty are seen,
illuminating every sacred wound,
as politicians face what should have been
and steer us toward a higher, firmer ground.

Covid-19 Musings

Today a white dove flew across a dimming sun.
As it gently descends below the horizon
I gazed down below from my Apartment.
And I see people up and about their businesses.
Only a few months earlier,
The space below my apartment was empty, no voices, no cheers.
An ultra-thin piece of non-living matter
Shut the world down, without weapons-
No guns, no bombs not even arrows
Yet the world stood still.
A reality that was neither phony nor funny!
And suddenly, gone were the days when we could sit across each other at work.
Or share a cold beer at the pub, or travel at will.
Our lives became regimented, we sit in front of computers all day.
And connect across continents at the click of a button.
We suddenly learnt to adapt to a new world order-
Virtual, eerie yet calm but somewhat discomforting
Masterminded and dictated to us by an ultra-thin piece of non-living matter!
It is now over 365 days since the virus tried to shut us down.
Many lives have been loss, families mourning.
National economies have suffered with damming consequences for the citizenry.
Yet the world remained resilient, like the great rock of Gibraltar.
We may have buckled but we stood tall, united and strong.
From the United Kingdom to Nigeria
Across the Americas, down to the Zulu Kingdom of Southern Africa
We stayed strong and stable.
And fought for our freedom!
And I can see that freedom is close.
Even though the ultra-thin piece of non-living matter continues to-
Raise its ugly head across different regions on our planet.
But resilient we are, and we will continue to be!
So, today, as I gazed down below from my Apartment.
And I saw people up and about their businesses.
I knew for sure- we would all smile together again.
From a place of love, peace, contentment and most of all victory
Against an invisible enemy that threatened our entire existence
Hopefully, we would have learned the lessons and be battle ready for future invasions!!!

Premium Member Butterfly Dreams

Today I watched the children play
in a field across the street
They jumped around chasing butterflies
so innocently sweet
I remember chasing butterflies
on backyard Summer days
fluttering scenes of hopes and dreams
and how it felt to play

But who would teach a child to dream
while winding up a clock
poised to show their time is up
with such alarming shock
Only then to tell them
they were never worthy of
everything they've ever dreamed
and what they learned to love

Imagine the confusion
surely racing through their minds
An excommunication of
the innocent, maligned
thrust into their foreign lands
with little to survive
living through their nightmares
of the dreams they've been denied

D.A.C.A. Americas "Dreamers"

The world awaits our fated stray
will compassion win the day?
Or will we once again display
American values have lost their way?

Premium Member Let Haiti Be Absolutely Free

Let Haiti be absolutely free
Haiti is the father of Freedom and Liberty
Haiti is the first nation to forever ban or abolish slavery
And the slave trade in the western hemisphere
And in the world
The first to practice absolute equality
Among men and women on this sphere
And throughout the world
Stop meddling and interfering detrimentally with Haiti
Leave Haiti alone to be absolutely free
Haiti is the first nation to dig up and plant the seed of freedom
For the world to unfortunately follow with pure hypocrisy
Haiti is the first country to denounce false democracy
Haiti is the first leader to choose martyrdom
The first oasis to defeat colonialism in the Americas
Haiti is where was born the first buzz of jazz
The first beat and cry of “We Shall Overcome”
Haiti is the first country that they tried to betray
Haitians are the first unsung Heroes to die for Liberty and Freedom
Thanks to Haiti that many people are living free today
Since Haiti had spread the incense throughout the world
“Live free or die; Freedom or Death”. Leave Haiti alone to live
They made Haiti poor, undesirable, dangerous and unsafe
By supplying weapons to knuckle heads, teenagers and youngsters
They damned Haiti with crazy terrorists, thieves, bandits and gangsters
In daylight, they tried to push Haiti down the steepest cliff
Yes, they robbed, looted, poisoned, and they miserably failed
To dwarf, to kill Haiti and his noble dreams after numerous invasions. Leave
Leave Haiti so Haiti can be Haiti, let Haiti swim as Haiti pleases
Regardless of what one hears
Haiti is a nice piece of land with smart and proud Nègres
And brave and valiant men and women with small and big toes
Who will fight and shed blood, sweat and tears
To defend Haiti Chérie. Give justice to Haiti by any means
And help Haiti getting rid of the ungrateful criminals and the vermins
Haiti will underwhelm, rise and rise again in the Caribbean Seas
Because Haiti is peaceful, patient, lovely, adamant and resilient
Haiti’s children are watching and they are highly intelligent.

N.B. By the way, Nègres like ******* is not offensive to us, Haitians, however, ‘nizzers’ is insulting.

Premium Member Americas New President Jr Biden

Have been following CNN avidly,
Learnt a great deal about American politics
Your Ex -President, an arrogant man to his core,
As opposed to a dedicated, humble, proud,
Soul searching man, President Joseph
Robinette Biden Jr. a Vice President before,
During President Obama’s Administration.
He has gone through so much grief,
Wife, daughter and son, their lives so brief.
He understands compassion
It has become his passion,
To unite his country as one, no racism
All for one and one for all, only patriotism
His promise to Black lives matter
Was an easy decision,
His Cabinet, an integration
Of every color creed and nation.
An elegant First Lady and wife Dr Jill Biden,
Will always be by The President,s side
For ever, and ever, with pride,
And with Vice President Kamala Harris
At his right hand,
How purposeful, never boring,
Or disturbing,
His Administration will be,
The world looks forward to this with glee!
We have a wonderful President too,
Have much respect for his handling
Of the Pandemic, President Cyril Ramaphosa,
A refined, gentle man who also
Rules his Rainbow Nation, with Pride.
Hope President Biden comes to South Africa
Soon, I would love them to meet,
That would really neat,
For our Country has magic scenery
And traditions to behold,
For the brave, free, mighty and bold!
