A Once Beloved Icon

I remember only eight years in the past A once beloved icon shocked a nation Instantly he became an outcast disrupting the flow, the Cheeto now hated A business tycoon with many failures turned successes Strong, bombastic and not the most polished speaker Vitriol ensues but he endures the endless stresses becoming a captivating political leader To some he was Americas champion, strong on the world stage To others he was a fascist, ripping away our rights He was and still is our champion because all we want is change Others pillage, plunder, burn and loot losing their damn minds A billionaire that took on the challenge and embraced it He risks much because he cares, fights for American exceptionalism Those that revered him now despise him, call him racist elitists and the news media fill our minds with such cynicism Shots fired in Butler almost took his life, some believe it was staged He stands, fists in the air screaming fight, fight, fight His base of millions became more engaged but enraged His resolve astonishing heightening his plight He is now a kin to Hitler as the media turns up the slander Minds are influenced with distasteful propaganda No matter if you like him or not, that is never the answer Yet he fights for what he believes further pushing his agenda My favorite president, a fighter, a legend, a success Others see him as a dictator, to our democracy he's a threat Convictions, fake felonies even then they can't suppress **I am one of his supporters. If you read this please keep any vile comments to yourself, I'm not the one to attack. We all have our beliefs, you may not like mine and that's fine. Proper discord is healthy for a functioning society and I welcome it.** Jared Pickett 11/6/2024 Asavvy1
