The Line Items

There is a list on my desk,
Another one is on the refrigerator.
It is all the things that I need to do.
It is not short by any means.

You probably have one too…?

Perhaps you left yours in the car?
In a jar? (of pickles to ferment)
In the doctor’s office on the chair…
because you no longer care.!

I understand.
Too, well.

As you read this believe,
We are now in truthful agreement…
Take my hand.
Say this…out loud, “…”
(to yourself if you like, He hears regardless.)
Okay… you now have all that you need.

Your organization has changed,
as your direction is now due “North.”
Israel is in the distance, and life is now in focus.

No more lists…
Okay…for groceries…that is it…

Now start a prayer journal instead.
An offering of others to “Him”, loved ones and strangers…

If this is all new to you, let me begin, for you,
So we together…
can organize each other,
as to the value of forever!

Amen.

A routine

In my dreams you interrupt,
In my shower you limit water,
Putting in clothes you drum louder
And getting out I'm sweating.

You were to be my strength,
My weakness you turned,
Your tone so unpleasant to hear,
Ready to turn me in to tear my status.

My wish you are not concerned,
Only your will and wish counts,
Going to eat you are tailing me,
And eating you over watch ,with anger.

Finishing my meal seems to hurt you,
Relying on you, you melt for me to fall,
My sorrow burns up in my heart,
And you can't let me have a sip.

Going to sleep, I wait for too long,
And my stomach rumbles due to coldness,
Your words dehumanizes me,
And you turn my night to a nightmare.

Premium Member The Sneering and Seething

Caught in the middle of the adult fight.
Leverage is gained or taken depending upon if I look left or right.
The shouting and screaming becomes numb to my mind.
The sneering and seething; why does it have to be every single night?

The detachment of the object of me from their eyes. They don’t seem to see or realise that they’re dimming the light in my eyes. That my young mind can see straight through their hate driven tears and lies.

The cold feeling in the air though so, so warm it is outside.
The same words flying through the air amongst the alcohol fuelled foul mouthed cries.
Blamed because they put me here; here to ruin their lives.

Premium Member Evil Has a Childhood

toss anger, he said
into the bin of waste
waste not mankind’s love
with abuse and bite
the bullet skies
high the eagle flies
why not the steeple
less with feathers flocked
why not the pews on
threadbare knees
that knock and palms
close touch of closed
and ethereal eyes, in shock
of amazing blue, far above
the whizzing bell of shots
some fell, some rise
both have a knell and sigh
anger flung like monkey dung
lay upon the sheetrock roof
its lies are born and cradled
evil has a childhood, is able
to wean and crawl, to fall
toss anger, he spoke
to the deaf and blind
they never woke nor wised
up. six feet downer done
swept into the bin of waste
a godforsaken life

Premium Member Sarah

As she entered the dingy little house,
Sarah regarded Ethel and Charles.
They were where they always were,
each sat, slumped, torpid
in their own well-worn armchair,
staring vacantly at the telly.

Neither acknowledges her arrival,
and she did not announce it,
the pleasantries were redundant,
all three knew their roles.

Everything was, as always.

The closed curtains were worn, thin,
allowing a pattern of light
to pool on the brown carpet.
The room was hot, stuffy,
and had its own odious whiff;
a mixture of stale urine
sweat, and decay.

She gagged as she entered,
because of the stench,
and because
of the anticipation of what came next.
Changing their diapers,
bathing them
while ignoring
the obvious pleasure
it gave Charles.

Sarah had been 'bathing' Charles
since she was eleven,

Ethel knew, of course,
but pretended she didn't.

Later;
she would prepare their dinner.

Sarah had stopped eating with them.

She told herself
she was too tired to eat
that dealing with her parents' mess
made her sick.

The truth was
Sarah increasingly found it soothing
not to eat,
it gave her almost as much comfort
as the marks she made
with the knife
that she kept with her,
always.

Arrival

When I came to the castle,
everything was dead.
I had no idea that meant me as well?
I had run from a "land" that sucked,
life from its people,
for so long,
they no longer noticed.
Undead walking,
wistfully running nowhere.

The place echoed,
and stinging bugs covered the floors,
just here and there, beware.
No front windows the back ones…cracked.
I took it, there was nowhere to go, back?

Better to live among,
the mean “real” monsters that die easy,
than those that live to stab another day.

The roof was caved in, there was no kitchen.
The bathroom worked, thank God.
“Honey, it is okay, lots of people shower outside.”

My kid’s think I’m funny,
Now I am just eccentric.
But, they are all grown, yet I am not alone.

My dog, a bird, and fish in the pond…
Amen.

Self Inflicted

The wounds were “self-inflicted”
unmindful of the pain
that surged within the shattered soul
a never ending rain.

The priest in sanctimonious lie
anointed, blessed, and prayed
the parish nodded knowingly
they too had been betrayed.

The charlatans of Christendom
succumbed to mourning wail
while covering for demons
who should have gone to jail.

Thus did the guilty wash their hands
lead guileless sheep to follow
the scent of incense acrid air
flickering through tallow.

Warped plywood covers tear-stained glass
the altar’s gods evicted
to suffer the never ending pain
of wounds they “self-inflicted”

Meeting

At church on Sunday night,
I went to worship God.
At least to stand with others,
and lift my hands and bend my knees.

This was not what I expected?
This was not what I thought would be?
There was no one at the front,
No one you would expect to see.

Instead, there was a remnant,
up close and near the front.
They were hushed and quiet, calm.
“He” was among them.
“He” was there.

They were not dressed to the hilt,
but came just as they were…
Just as they are…
with hopes of what they will…be.

Songs, spoken words from “the” book.
Lovely shared, one to another.
The room, the few that had returned…
for no other reason, than to worship,
“Him.”

A brightness, a gleam, a shine…
Felt and even… breathed…in.
Glorious is the glow!
Mighty,
is… the King!

Early Morning

Morning song

it is six in the morning
I get down and move the car from
the place reserved for vans.
This the best of times cooling before the heat begins
only a few people out walking their dogs enjoying
the peace of a beginning.
I could have parked my car in the space between
two cars, but I lose my nerves, this after 60 years of driving.
In the night the wind blew hard from the sea
tiring itself out, and me too I hate the wind it takes my breath away
leaves me a husk falling asleep in front of the TV.
Yesterday I carried water to the house, the porter usually
do this but, my wife thinks he takes too much money.
I do not agree.
Being able to carry bottles of water is better than not being
able to carry water, my heart does not agree.

You Can'T Love Me Tomorrow

You can't love me tomorrow
To your desire
I do your will
Not because
Am too good baby
It been a while
I feel that it is
To keep giving
For you now act
strange as you
Care not

Oh baby love me now
For now is sure
If not now
You can't love me
Tomorrow

You can't love me tomorrow
Baby look into my eyes
What do you see
Baby am yours
Like I wish you are mine
It don't matter how
Strange it may sims
Oh baby is clear
Like a writing on the wall
How I love you

Oh baby love me now
For now is sure
If not now
You can't love me
Tomorrow

You can't love me tomorrow
I wish words could
Say exactly how
My heart beat with love
For you baby
If is about the cash
Dat don't count
For is just a material
We go on trips
I show your the world
For I love your companionship
I wish you could feel
Like I do

Oh baby love me now
For now is sure
If not now
You can't love me
tomorrow

You can't love me tomorrow
Years gone
Time passes
Yet you don't see
I love you
Oh baby how can I
Be so this good
I had you say
He is just my hubby
When I say I love you
You just smile
With out a reply
I wonder when you
Will love me baby

Oh baby love me now
For now is sure
If not now
You can't love me
tomorrow

You can't love me tomorrow
you keep posting me
you sims so far to reach
As much as you are close
By my side
Baby time wait for no one
As I wait for your love baby
You see those girls on the street
They laugh at me
Baby you see them boys
In the hood
They like you
But I love you
Just wish you could love
Me too like I feel now

Oh baby love me now
For now is sure
If not now
you can't love me Tomorrow
