How lucky was I
To be young at a time
With no cellphones or Snap Chat
Just a kitchen landline
Coccooned in my own world
Safe from IG
No clickbait or comments
Just my 3 speed and me
I'd ride thru the backwoods
My location unknown
No airtags or status
Hiding from home
Didn't care about followers
About DMs or chats
Had my skates and my paper route
My green visor hat
I do miss those days
Unaccounted and free
Cartoons ,Luke and Laura
On an antenna TV
I was so hard to get to
and unable to find
Just a weak chance of reaching
On a kitchen landline
What is a land line? I asked twenty-seven third graders.
None of them knew, it was an antiquated term in 2022.
I told them that if they had phones that stayed in one spot…
That is a landline, we used to have them all over, believe it or not.
They did not believe me. They thought I was teasing them.
They could not imagine a phone attached by cord to a wall.
She is not fibbing, we used to have them in homes said Jim.
They are pretty spoiled, these eight-year-olds, three feet tall.
Land line is the first telephone
A fixed-line, and wireline telephone connection that uses metal wires
Networked attachments by wires, poles
Done by public switched telephone networks by transmissions
Locally over land via mass wire connections
In transmitting voice signals across a specialized conducting medium
Networking across miles and miles and miles
Environmental voice signals using radio waves, landline optic cable or metal wires transmit voice signals.
