There will be book burning
Somewhere in the world today.
At Fahrenheit 451
Paper curls and browns away
Wiping inconvenient views,
Erasing trains of thought
As those trapped words,
Those expressions once caught
In once pristine volumes
Physically disappear.
And only the approved
Can be read without fear.
But in time
Those dictators of dogma find
They can remove the physical
But can't brainwash every mind.
Again in time,
Though they may not know why
Enlightenment
May make their hidebound ideas die,
Until, inevitably
Though we can't know when
The fanatics and their fantasies
Will rise again.
All the freedoms
So very hard earned
Will be taken
And books will be burned.

Let’s get one thing straight, dear
Let’s give the Devil his due
The clouds are conspired against us
The Revolutionaries hate us, too
There’s no room at the foot of the mountain
Only the sordid survive
Youth only drowns in a fountain
Only wasted memories thrive
Did you ever hear the one about
The doctor with no patience
Don’t leave me locked here in this lab
With my hideous creations
You pay the price for your concealment
So hidebound and subdued
If I knew where childhood’s zeal went,
I’d be in a better mood
But now the autopsy is finished
No hope for the organs at all
And no trace of the heart’s existence
But for the splatter on the wall
Did you ever hear the one about
There under the sweltering lights
Time is a play of dimension
I know you’re up to your arms in gore
But I was hoping for an extension
I was hoping for a life-extension.

To give glory to Satan I'm sorry to sound,
Though bitter a truth I've certainly found:
Some sons Satan has strictly tamed and tied,
(Forbid O Lord I might have lied).
On wicked ways their thoughts hidebound,
As devil dictates they gullibly go round;
They have become his bond-servants and lieges,
In enemy's bondage who artfully besieges.
And they sorrowfully lead their breath on earth,
The dragon depraved them their mission and mirth;
Them he mistreats and mangles and mocks,
And laughs at loud and in the searing Lake of fire, he locks.
But listen, you who are tamed and tied:
How long will devil destroy you and deride?
Subject your soul to the Savior's side,
And He will right reward you with a free ride.

sometime I watch
the fear held aloft by you, possessed,
you try to protect yourself from you in vain,
very thirsty, white
hydrangeas on your lips tremble, exhaust
their need for clouds in blue eyes, pale
fountain gives up
tumult of sand grains for high skilled
white god of snow who could not prevent
a land slide all morning,
my bones still do not agree for a
marrow withdrawl for an emptied leukaemia
hidebound, rapacious
in the chaste tree, stuck by night grab,
the bright stars fall one by one on ice
