Hewitt Poems

Mervin's room via Jackson Hewitt, Lake Huron

My dear Nay few!
My dear shenanigan floating near Shenandoah
Let us make a trip itinerary around the upcoming December
For the longest word where she sang for long, so long
Even a patsy like me denied the intervention
Not to repeat the Meriam , as they sung , unsung, a faded croon
For years too long enduring a morning, a bay boon.

Bonjour!

Shanandoah is a place poem.
December is a month
Meriam is a Thesaurus pal
Before the L section in Babylon

Please watch out after twenty past chapter four!
Oracle, are you impeccably manual?

In memory

Tearfully I wonder if the choice was right
Questions run rampantly through my weary mind
His little face that solemn day replays throughout my lonely night
What emotions must have burdened his fragile soul
Every day I pray that he understands my reasons why
How my heart broke seeing his fear and pain
I couldn’t save him or comfort him; no matter how I tried

Pain and sorrow follow me along my journey now
Heart broken in tiny, sharp pieces scattered all around
All the memories of what he meant will guide me through somehow
Gone so young, so much left to live
How I wish God could have granted me more days
In each day I try to find a message of his love in nature’s majestic view
Wondering if his spirit is around; do you hear what I say
Now my days I must face with one less loving friend
Though your journey brings you far away
Your memory and loving bond will never end

Rest in peace my dear sweet boy
Travel with the angels now
I will carry on some way
Somehow

Jenny Free Verse

JENNY FREE VERSE

Balaclava over my head,
I nipped into the John Hewitt
and went nervously up to the bar.
'Are you a poet?' a woman's voice inquired.
I dreaded the question, so embarrassed. It was a key moment.
'I'm ... I play with words on paper!'
I fumbled in my pocket for a pen and notebook.
'I'm having fun with the language!'
I laughed - I felt a great weight
lift from my shoulders
as she slipped the balaclava
off my head and kissed me.

'Can I buy you a drink?' the lady
bought me a Pernod, and hey presto!
we were off to the races,
talking passionately
About Heaney, Mahon and Longley.

Jenny Free Verse
gave me her number,
promised to have a look at my notebook
and give me some feedback.
'Cheers!'

I waltzed down the street,
got back to the house in ¾ time,
got my Italian leather, hand-crafted,
writing journal out from the tall boy
and wrote, ‘I just met Jenny Free Verse!'

Rebecca Grey Hewitt

Rebecca Grey Hewitt was born to a Grey
But she married herself to a Hewitt today
All the Greys in the country protested this plot
For the Hewitts were common and they were not
They came to the wedding but sat in a bunch
With eyes closed and noses up-they sniffed at the punch
But Rebecca Grew Hewitt did not seem to see
Her eyes were on a Hewitt however common I may be.

Reborn

By Laura Hewitt
My coyness towards you I try to disguise
You wrap your arms around me and I can barely breathe
The blood is pumping so quickly now
The oxygen comes from somewhere deeper
Because my heart keeps growing to make more room for you
Your lips pressed against mine
Pressing my body against yours
Feeling my entire body on fire
Waiting for my life to erupt in flames
My hands seem to have a mind of their own
I notice so do you yours
This is the moment I have been waiting for
Your lips all over my body
Feeling my legs start to shake
Like a leaf blown in a hurricane
Wanting more then I ever imagined I would
These blankets are our sanctuary
They cover my naked body from the cold
Hold me closer
Nevertheless that’s what our arms were made for
Pressed up against you this way
Has such power over me
I can’t control these urges anymore
Take me the way you wish
Take me to a place where we can never return
Take me there with you
Take me into your heavenly blue
To the point where I’m gasping for breath
I want to be reborn with you once more
After all isn’t that what love was made for
